    Great Vacuum

I really like this vacuum. Very good maneuverability. Great suction. Easy cleaning... no bags, no filters. I really liked my old vacuum but it had filters I had to keep clean. With this one I don't have to mess with all that. It just makes everything easier. Tons of attachments and a bag to keep them all in. I've had this for about 3.5 months now. I have 4 large dogs that shed A LOT and two kids, (3rd old and 18 month old) so I like to keep the floors clean for them. This has done the job quite well.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've been having an issue with the cleaner head of your Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy. On thicker or more plush carpeting, the brush bar may sense the carpeting as an obstruction, which is causing your brush bar to stop. While we never expect issues to occur, Dyson does back your new machine from an authorized retailer with a free 5-year guarantee.  We would value the opportunity to assist you, to help ensure your Dyson is working properly. Please feel free to contact us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com. We are keen on providing you with support and learning more about your experience.

This vacuum is absolutely amazing!!! We used our normal upright vacuum for the first you after purchasing our home. It would suck up the dirt and dog hair fine, vut when we purchaeed this one... it oulled dirt and hair up from before we lived here. The amount of hair and dander that was picked immediatly after using our old onewas obvious. There was more in the hopper than was in the old vacuum.

My husband bought the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Bagless Upright vacuum for me and I absolutely love this sweeper! We have a large dog and this Dyson really does the trick with cleaning up animal hair and dander. When using the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal vacuum, the thing that you will immediately notice is the vacuum's high-sweeping capacity and the high-capacity of the suction! This Dyson also features a 35' cord which allows you to vacuum multiple areas of the hose before changing the cord into another outlet. Another positive feature of the Dyson Animal bag less vacuum is that the container holds a great amount of debris/hair which allows more time for vacuuming and less time empting the canister. Another positive feature of the Dyson vacuum is that it is easy to use and very light-weight to push when vacuuming. The only downfall to the Dyson animal vacuum is that after using the vacuum for a long period of time, it does collect a strong odor (animal odor). My husband orders a replacement filter but still there is a lingering pet smell in the vacuum when you use it each time. Overall, I would highly recommend this Dyson pet vacuum to others looking for a durable and light-weight vacuums.

We purchased our first Dyson in 2002 and finally upgraded to Cinetic Big Ball Animal - Allergy. We have multiple dogs and we both have seasonal allergies. The new Dyson helps clean carpets, rugs, and hardwood better than our previous one. So glad we upgraded and we can definitely tell a difference in our homes air quality!

Worth the price? Absolutely. I suffer for a year with an 80$ vacuum, and got what I payed for. I have to Great Pyrenees Mix breeds and they shed a ton. The Dyson pics up all of the hair, dirt, and fine dust. Here is a video I made showing the vacuum in action. I recommend it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3cC8mHDUaI

Good Vacuum - Bad On/Off Switch

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The vacuum functions well but the On/Off switch failed after just one year. The housing design made it a challenge to get to the switch mechanism. I would not recommend trying to fix this problem yourself unless you are very handy with mechanical devices. I was able to repair the switch mechanism but it was a maze of rods and leavers. But once fixed the unit is back in service and cleans well. I have a deep carpet with to small dogs. They shed but the vacuum digs deep into the carpet and removes all the hair.

This is my 3rd Dyson vacuum. I had to upgrade to this model when I read that there were no filters to wash & dry. This works wonders on pet hair. I have a Black Lab and my house has light colored carpet, this machine gets up all the pet hair and then some. The attachments work great on stairs and in my SUV.

We operate an animal rescue center and animal hair, animal dander and dirt is a problem. I have other well known brands and they are used at least twice a day. They also get worn out pretty fast. I was given an older Dyson as a donation for the rescue center and the difference's were immediate. I decided to go buy a new one and went with this model. This thing is amazing, it handles great, not too heavy, extremely ergonomic, and the attachment's work great as well. I've had 5 back operations, knee operation's and hip operations and this vacuum doesnt bother me. If you are considering a Dyson or on the fence about which model. I would suggest this one. You will be glad you did. They work so well your house will even smell better. This thing cleans deep

    Buyer Beware

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Dyson vacuums are the worst vacuums ever. They're made out of cheap plastic. You spend as much time emptying the cannister, cleaning the cannister and filter(s) and beater bar as you do running it. They are heavy and clumsy. They only clean well when you first get them, and then it's downhill from there. I got so frustrated with the breakdowns and downtimes with mine and the heaviness and lack of ease to use, I trashed it and bought an Oreck, which is 12 pounds lighter, cleans better, cleans faster, has more suction, and I don't have to mess with the filthy bin and filters, just toss a Heppa sealed bag and replace and voilla, ready to use in again in 30 seconds. I had to move almost all the furniture with the Dyson to clean in under it; the Oreck scoots right under most items without changing an attachment. The Dyson's attachments are almost useless because the machine falls over when you attempt to use the hose. Bad, bad design. Oreck picks up on the first swoop; with the Dyson, I had to go over and over again. I dreaded having to get the Dyson out when it was time to vacuum. Don't fall for the hype of the advertisements. It's an expensive lesson to learn!

Hi there. Thank you for your feedback. Our Dyson Cinetic Big Ball is our newest and most-advanced upright machine. It is the first upright machine with Dyson Cinetic science, meaning it is the only vacuum that won’t lose suction, even after 10 years’ worth of dust . It is the only upright vacuum with no dirty filters to wash or replace. Dyson Cinetic Big Ball has 35 Dyson Cinetic tips arranged tightly into the cyclone pack. Smaller cyclones are more efficient, separating more fine dust; however, when you make cyclones smaller, you increase the chance of them blocking. Dyson engineers have engineered every one of the cyclones with an oscillating tip to combat this risk. As a result, these tips are always moving, ensuring the dust is moved through the system and into the bin. They are so efficient that there is no need to wash or replace a pre motor filter at all – there isn’t one. I understand that you no longer have your machine, however if we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us at: [email protected]. We are happy to provide additional support. Best wishes, Christina. Dyson-EN_US

    Best Dyson yet!

It's heavy, but my wife loves it. It's amazing. She's pretty much clueless as to what else to say. We've owned a Dyson in the past, then a Shark, then a Dyson stick, and now this one. I talked her into the Shark and she wasn't thrilled with it. Then I succumbed to her wishes and got the stick Dyson. That thing doesn't last more than 10-15 minutes. So this thing came on a wicked good sale and I told her to go buy it. Pretty sure that scored me some brownie points for awhile. Solid vacuum. I agree it's heavy if you're taking it up and down stairs, but it's worth it.

The first time I used this I cleaned 3 rooms and filled up the container twice with dust and everything else my old vacuum missed. Its kind of light weight but the handle in the middle makes it even easier to carry than most vacuums. Its easy to assemble too.

    Best dyson vacuum yet

We purchased this Dyson vacuum after our first Dyson vacuum stopped working after 7+ years, we vacuum every day at least once sometimes more than once. After having a Dyson, you don't want to go to any other vacuum. We loved our first Dyson and did our research on which Dyson was the best one to buy. Since we have 3 dogs and a cat in our home, we need one that can get all the pet hair and dander and other allergens since we also deal with allergies and asthma in our house. This vacuum goes above and beyond what we were expecting. Our carpet looks cleaner and is a lot softer than it's been in previous years. Yes it's a pricey vacuum but well worth the money and you won't be disappointed. The tool attachments that come with this vacuum are excellent for so many uses and you are able to get in to so many smaller spaces with the attachments. We don't regret our decision with this purchase one bit, we just wonder why we didn't purchase it sooner! Definitely the best Dyson vacuum out there!

    Best vacuum I've ever had!!

With 4 cats who shed constantly I was desperate to have a cat hair free home. I've tried the Hoover and Shark. The Shark did work well but started to fall apart. The dyson animal attachment is a God send!! It picks up everything! The Dyson also picked up dust in the rug I never knew was there!! It picked up dust my previous 2 vacuums didn't. I mean enough dust it looked like piles of sand, I was shocked that was in my "clean" rug!! My only "complaint" I have is the animal attachment piece is really loud when on the extension hose. However the performance completely out ways that problem!! I recommend to anyone who wants a very high quality vacuum!!

    Incredible suction-Messy emptying-Tools are meh

Could not believe the amount of dirt, dust & pet hair it removed from my carpets & bare floors but when I got to the bathroom I was disappointed with the tools it came with. The bristles on the tools are soft, I assume this is so they don’t damage anything, but they’re so soft they don’t pick up dust, hair & lint that has adhered itself in the bathroom because it’s mixed with humidity & hair spray. Sure I admit I purposely waited until it was pretty bad before I tried it out in the bathroom because it had such great suction elsewhere in the house. But the bathroom presents a unique situation caused by the specific environment in there. And the hair spray makes the job of removing the towel lint from the walls a challenge if you don’t keep up with it. The big ball makes the Dyson easy to manipulate, turn & push so I give that at thumbs up but the ball is so big it’s impossible to get very far under furniture. Of course the vacuum does have a wand but it’s length & the stiffness of the hose caused by the incredibly powerful suction makes it difficult to manipulate. It takes quite some strength to pull the hose to it’s length against the powerful suction of the vacuum. I don’t have a suggestion for how to improve this but I’m not an engineer. I suggest Dyson work on improving this because a flexible hose is a great feature that is unfortunately rendered quite useless unless you are far stronger than I am. Emptying the Dyson was easy, just press the button at the top of the dust canister and the bottom opens up but there was still a lot of dust that floated around in the process of emptying it so the process could be improved, IMO.

    Pets? No Problem!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Most people who by this vacuum are doing so because it is supposed to remove pet hair. Hence the "Animal" in the product name. So, let me first start by saying that this vacuum does a great job with pet hair! This is especially true when trying to get pet hair off your furniture. The "pet" attachment is simply wonderful. I have owned several vacuums with this kind of attachment over the years, and this one puts all the others to shame - by a wide margin. Now, on to a more comprehensive review: Assembly is a snap. Literally. You don't need tools. Everything simply snaps into place. I especially like the retractable extension that is inserted directly into the main hose, which sits nicely out of the way in the main housing. With other vacuums that I've owned, the hose seemed to always be in the way, particularly when trying to wrap the cord after I was finished with the machine. No problems here. Also, the cord is longer than I've ever had, so I can literally vacuum 90% of my apartment from a single plug-in. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this machine is. That being said, don't be fooled - because this is a powerful machine. As I stated earlier, I've had several vacuums over the years. This is the only one that noticeably lifted the carpet up with it's suction. My other machines did a nice job of getting the pet hair out of my carpet, but honestly, I didn't really notice much dirt with those other machines. The first time I used this Dyson, I was astounded at the dirt that was mixed with the pet hair. My only dislike is the way the machine is built. It's really all plastic, so you have to be careful not to ram it against a coffee table, because there's likely a real possibility that you can crack something. The only other thing I had to get used to was standing the machine upright. It doesn't really have a distinct locked upright feature, so there were a few times the machine simply fell over when I first got it. So be careful! As I said, it's mostly plastic, and you don't want to crack it! Overall, this is the single best vacuum that I've ever owned. Yes, it is more expensive than some vacuums that claim to be similar - but the difference is the cleaning quality is really noticeable.

It's worth it. Goodbye German Shepherd fur!

4 out of 5 stars because of price and assembly. I started looking for a vacuum about a year ago. I looked at a Dyson then, but went with the cheaper Hoover Wind Tunnel Pet and I thought the Hoover was awesome. Last month I started noticing clumps of German Shepherd fur deep down in the carpet. I went and bought the Dyson thinking if it didn't do any better than the Hoover I would sell it someone else. I vacuumed the living room with the Hoover and then went over again with the Dyson and got an ENTIRE extra canister in just the living room. Good bye Hoover. After using the Dyson for just a few seconds, I noticed that I could feel the floor shaking and it's because the bristles were getting deep down into the carpet and actually hitting the subflooring (that's good!). The carpet actually feels softer on my feet to walk on, so I know the Dyson is doing a better job. The tangle free tool is absolutely amazing for getting the dog fur off of chairs and furniture and is probably one of the things that really attracted me to this vacuum. It was totally worth the investment after I waited for it to go on sale and used some Rewards points and got it for $400, so just be patient and look around. That's when it becomes 5 stars! Assembly instructions were a little lacking. First time I put it together the bristle bar didn't work, even after turning the switch on and off. Second time and it worked perfectly.
