Dyson on line customer service was very helpful and set up a service ticket at a local repair shop. We were quite impressed how easy that went. After a few weeks of waiting we were told by the repair shop they were informed the motor is on back order and no word on how long it will take. We emailed Dyson on February 26 for a timeline and information and have not received a reply. March 1 tried their on line chat and "Lee" had no answers and wrote they will email us within 24 hours with an update. Nothing. Today the Dyson website is down for updating. As you all know, this is an expensive vacuum. You would expect to be able to use it for more than 6-7 months. (Btw, the repair shop had other Dysons, same model, sitting behind their counter for repairs.)

Price too high.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my mother who's very allergic to dust and animal hair (she has 2 dogs). Unfortunately though, she insisted I return the product as it cost me quite a fortune. So I did. Nevertheless, it's a wonderful item to have in your house. **poor rating is for the price**

Posted .Hi Jerome, this is Joe with Dyson. Thank you for leaving a review of the Cinetic Big Ball Animal+Allergy. We are glad to hear that you were enjoying the machine so much. I understand your mother has allergies and the Cinetic Big Ball is perfect for allergy sufferers as it filters the air down to .03 microns, which includes mold spores and bacteria that can trigger asthma and allergy attacks.
The price reflects the many years of research and development that has gone into our Cinetic technology. We also back our confidence in the product with our 5 year warranty and unlike other vacuums, there is no running maintenance costs as there are no bags, replacement filters or belts to buy.
I understand you may have returned the machine, however; please consider sending us an email to [email protected] and we will be in touch with assistance.
Best wishes,
Joe

Not worth the large price, poor quality.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I owned a Dyson DC14 for 12 years. The best vacuum we ever owned. When it was finally time to replace it we opted for another Dyson. The Dyson Big Ball Cinetic Allergy plus is what we chose. This vacuum is garbage compared to the one it replaced. Will not stay standing upright. We constantly battle it releasing when trying to push across floor to put away. Pet hair sticks inside of the canister requiring it to be pulled out by hand. The DC14 NEVER did this EVER. The wand is now made of plastic instead of aluminum. Cheap and flimsy. It struggles to switch between the wand and floor attachments. It has to be cycled repeatedly before the suction will move from the wand to the floor so you never quite know if its working properly until you have 1/2 a room completed. This vacuum is a total disappointment.

Posted .Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The problem you are experiencing is very unusual and sounds like there may be an obstruction within your change over valve which is causing it to not lock into the upright position nor switch suction when needed. Also, please rest assured, Dyson machines are made from polycarbonate ABS which is the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. We subject them to 50,000 hours of testing and 550 individual tests. All of this to ensure they can withstand a lifetime's hard use.
You may view a short video of the testing process here:

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is not worth the asking price. I constantly have to clean out all of the tubes. The suction stopped working in less than a year. I got to a point that I had to purchase a $50 vacuum just so I could use the suction. The sad part is the new vacuum works better than the Dyson!

Does Not Work on Area Rugs!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this vacuum if you have area rugs. The suction is too strong and you will not be able to move it. Dyson is no help either, other then suggesting you buy another less powerful one.

Posted .Hello Kim, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that your Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy has been too powerful to use on your area rugs. This vacuum features a self-adjusting cleaner head which automatically raises and lowers to seal in suction across all floor types. Due to the more powerful suction that Dyson machines have, the vacuum's suction may "seal" to the flooring beneath your area rug, making the machine hard to move. You can try disabling the brush bar, by pressing the brush bar power button once the machine is on and reclined, to solve the issue. If you still have trouble, feel free to reach out to us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com for further assistance.

Dyson and Best Buy Customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this vaccum in November and have had it repaired 2 times since purchasing it. I took it to Best Buy today to speak with my local store about the purchase and they basically told me I was out of luck on this purchase. But that I could deal with the manufacture. I do not think that a brand new vaccum should need repaired after 3 months and then again at 6 months. Also the vaccum was purchased by someone else in January of 2018 and returned and then I bought the vaccum as new in box in November of 2018. If a product is returned I do not think you should sell it as new to a customer. I only found this out after my first call to Dyson to get the vaccum fixed then. After speaking to the manager in the Virginia Beach store today and not getting any help I will no longer shop at Best Buy!

Burning, Pretty Paperweight
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this vacuum a little more than 5 years ago. Purchased due to my daughter's terrible allergies and a 10 pound, small dog. Long story short, the vacuum's motor is going out, emanating a horrid burning smell, losing suction and sounding like a jet. When I emailed Dyson, I was advised that I was outside of my warranty, and COULD take my vacuum to a "local service provider" an hour away, in another state, and pay unknown repairs. How many now functioning vacuums could I have purchased for more than $800 including tax? Save your money.

failed after 2 yrs of light use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paid $600 for this vacuum, thinking it would last for a no. of years. It failed after only 2 yrs of light use; the motor ran but no suction at all. This was an expensive investment for me which turned out to be a piece of junk. Also, the hose is very hard to use. It has a lot of tension on it and takes 2 hands and a fair amt. of strength to pull it out and prevent if from snapping back into the storage area. Overall, not worth a plug nickel. I could have paid a fraction of the price and had a cleaner that would have lasted. Dysons are overpriced and greatly over rated.

Posted .Hello Kimberly, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear that you've experienced a suction issue with your Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy upright. A lack of suction in your machine may occur as a result of poor airflow, which can happen due to an existing obstruction. I am happy to let you know that most blockages are simple to remove and we find that most problems may be resolved through simple, yet effective troubleshooting at home.
In regards to the hose, I can confirm that we would essentially expect the hose to become more flexible with time and use. A few tips we can provide would be attaching your accessories directly to your hose, as this will also help expedite stretching the elasticity of the hose. Dyson vacuums are engineered with versatility in mind and attachments may be used on either the wand or directly on the machine itself for added convenience. Also, when stretching the hose out we would recommend starting by stretching the part of the hose that is nearest to the vacuum first when extending this part to clean your home. We would actually recommend checking to ensure the wand is not obstructed and that the hose is not sucking into itself as the hose is not something we would expect to be an issue during use.
We'd value the opportunity to learn more about your experience with your Dyson and to provide you with support. Please feel free to contact us directly at [email protected]. It will be our pleasure to provide support once we have received your correspondence.
Best wishes,
Kelly

EXPENSIVE PLASTIC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cleans ok, but the reviews about it being made of flimsy plastic and not very stable ARE TRUE. A LOT of money for cheap plastic. The back wheels do not allow you to move the unit around from room to room. collapse with the slightest nudge. As much as I want to say the suction power alone is worth the cost, it isn't. I am very disappointed at the " quality" of the product and what it was made from. I should have listened to the more honest reviews and spent my money elsewhere.

Posted .Hello there,
Thanks for your review. We're happy to hear the cleaning ability of your Dyson Cinetic Big Ball has been satisfactory. However, it is unfortunate to hear that you are not satisfied with the build materials. Dyson machines are made from polycarbonate ABS – the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. They are tough: we subject them to 50,000 hours of testing and 550 individual tests – all to ensure that they can withstand a lifetime’s hard use.
We put them through the paces prior to offering them for sale to our valued consumers. If you take a look at some of the rigorous tests, you can see that your Dyson was built to withstand much more than the average residential household would be subject it to:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9zmOLylpnQ
In regard to transporting the machine on the back wheels, the machine is meant to be rolled on the ball portion as opposed to the stabilizer wheels. The stabilizer wheels are simply used for balance and to transition suction between the wand and the base of the machine. The cyclone handle can also be used to lift and transport the machine.
We'd always like to hear more about your experience. Feel free to send your contact information to [email protected] and we're keen to reach out and help.
Best wishes,
Dan
