Having used the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball a few times now, and also being an owner of a Dyson Animal I think I have a reasonable understanding of the product. I can't say that I am a very big fan of the "Big Ball" design, and the kickstand is a real weak point with this product. Not only can it be easy to mistakenly think you have placed the kickstand upright only for it to fall, it is so touchy that it is nearly impossible to use the wheels to move the vacuum around, and so you have to lug this heavy thing anywhere when you want to move it. The canister is quite small and fills up very quickly. Dyson also made the canister release from the body and the lid release the same button, which can result in accidentally dumping it out if you are not careful. Overall, I have a tough time recommending this product, and I certainly cannot justify the price tag.

I was in the market for a new vacuum. I had heard of Dyson and how expensive they were. I wasn't sure if the large amount of money was worth it. After reading many, many, MANY reviews, I finally bite the bullet and purchase the vacuum. I bought it after Christmas where it was 200 bucks off, that made the purchase somewhat more bareable. Anywho once I picked it up with in-store pick up I brought it home and was amazed at how much dirt it picked up. Set up wasn't too difficulty, thanks to the diagram and booklet that came with it, took me about 20 minutes. I plugged her in and off I went vacuuming. I've never been so excited to vacuum. This vacuum picks up everything it comes across salt from boots, dog hair etc. If you are considering buying this vacuum, do it. You'll be happy you did in the long run.

This vacuum is light weight & easy to use. It does an amazing job at picking up dog hair. We love that it is bag less and that we can empty it after each use. We loved our Kirby but it is heavy and we are constantly buying bags to keep it from smelling like dog. We have two labs and our yellow lab sheds like its life depended on it! Our old Dyson wore out after 6 years. We had a love hate relationship with that vacuum cleaner but we decided to give Dyson another try. We compared this Dyson to the Shark but finally opted to go with the Dyson. So far so good. It gets all of our lab's fur and then some. Moves easily from carpet to hardwood without any gears to change like our old Dyson. The only compliant I have about this is the price.

It is amazing the amount of dust and dirt it picks up. I would recommend this vacuum, especially if you have pets.

Picks up great, but is pretty heavy, and easily tips over back words if time isn't taken to make sure it's on level ground and stable. But my carpets looked and felt much cleaner after the first use, I had been using a named brand vacuum.

We had a canister vacuum...for years. Worked great but it started falling apart. We needed an upgrade. We seriously considered the Shark line but to us...the Shark products felt to "plastic-like". The suction power was fine and all that but friends of ours had Dysons and Sharks....and there were far less complaints with our Dyson friends. Biggest complaint from friends on Shark was the poor support they got from Shark when calling in with an issue AND the amount of time it took for replacement parts to arrive. With that said...Dyson is no joke price wise! It's a lot of money for a vacuum. In the end it was well worth the investment. Think about it...you're going to have this thing for several years...you don't want it falling apart. Also...Dyson suction power is insane. I could not believe the amount of junk this think picked up from our rugs and floors...and we are pretty clean people. We have no regrets with our purchase. Dyson was worth the money and Best Buy's "no interest" option made our decision that much easier..

Ever since I borrowed a neighbor's dyson to rectify my landlords prior tenants nasty pet hair issue... I've been a believer and planning on getting one of these. The confusing thing seems to be there are different models with canisters and some with filters that need replacing (?!). I thought that was one of the pluses of these- no filters (40-60 each?- I actually don't know at all) In any case, I borrowed a friend's older model dyson to do some vacuuming and even then after using this one... it picked up a fair amt of stuff in the bin, so clearly it's got some good suction. Not sure what that means on dysons over time, but they seem to hype up their 5(?) year warranty. I didn't think I'd like the ball, but it functions pretty smoothly and is easy to maneuver. So far so good. Confusing with the sale and pricepoints. I picked one up on a partial sale and had to price adjust later since it dropped again.... figure out what the lower dips are and then pick it up- these are pricey

Purchased this model because we have a dog that sheds. This is an excellent machine with incredible suction. It is heavy though so carrying it up and down stairs adds to the workout while housekeeping.
