Ever since I borrowed a neighbor's dyson to rectify my landlords prior tenants nasty pet hair issue... I've been a believer and planning on getting one of these. The confusing thing seems to be there are different models with canisters and some with filters that need replacing (?!). I thought that was one of the pluses of these- no filters (40-60 each?- I actually don't know at all) In any case, I borrowed a friend's older model dyson to do some vacuuming and even then after using this one... it picked up a fair amt of stuff in the bin, so clearly it's got some good suction. Not sure what that means on dysons over time, but they seem to hype up their 5(?) year warranty. I didn't think I'd like the ball, but it functions pretty smoothly and is easy to maneuver. So far so good. Confusing with the sale and pricepoints. I picked one up on a partial sale and had to price adjust later since it dropped again.... figure out what the lower dips are and then pick it up- these are pricey

We had a canister vacuum...for years. Worked great but it started falling apart. We needed an upgrade. We seriously considered the Shark line but to us...the Shark products felt to "plastic-like". The suction power was fine and all that but friends of ours had Dysons and Sharks....and there were far less complaints with our Dyson friends. Biggest complaint from friends on Shark was the poor support they got from Shark when calling in with an issue AND the amount of time it took for replacement parts to arrive. With that said...Dyson is no joke price wise! It's a lot of money for a vacuum. In the end it was well worth the investment. Think about it...you're going to have this thing for several years...you don't want it falling apart. Also...Dyson suction power is insane. I could not believe the amount of junk this think picked up from our rugs and floors...and we are pretty clean people. We have no regrets with our purchase. Dyson was worth the money and Best Buy's "no interest" option made our decision that much easier..

We have City life dust that accrues quickly and the Dyson does a great job. Highly recommended!

This is my second Dyson. I love how the vacuum cleans however, it is hard to maneuver, heavy and clumsy. For women with small wrists its hard to move around. I don't like how you have to push on it to make it stand up on its own. Also it tends to be clumsy when lowering the suction head to the surface to be cleaned. It almost sounds like it will break. If you can live with all of this, I recommend it because it cleans well.

I loved my 20 year old Hoover self propelled vacuum but replacement parts were impossible to find. After asking friends and reading reviews I decided on the Dyson. Out of the box I loved it. Even without being self propelled it pushes very easily and does a great job cleaning!

Purchased this vacuum to replace and upgrade from an old Hoover. This vacuum is definitely an improvement. It is pricey, but I purchased on sale and I'm happy I did. The vacuum is maneuverable and relatively light to move between floors. All the attachments are very handy for cleaning stairs, blinds, under and behind furniture, and the car. We have a husky who sheds a lot and this vacuum does not leave any hair behind. Overall, we are pleased with our purchase.

We felt crazy buying this expensive vacuum...and it was on sale. Other then some awkward handling, our house has never been so clean. This vacuum delivers.

Dyson may be expensive but it is well worth the price especially if you have a dog that sheds

This vaccum cleaner seems to work very good. Used it once and it cleaned the carpet and hardwood very good with less work than my Rainbow.

I havce been using a Dyson DC10 originally in my home for years and was quite happy with the overall cleaning of that unit. We have 3 cats in our home and one is a shedding long haired tabby. I used the DC10 to clean the living and dining room carpets and then went back over them with the new unit. TALK ABOUT SHOCKED!!! I could not believe the suction power of the new unit! It literally propelled itself away from me and pulled out hair and dirt I never would have expected after using the DC10 on the same areas. The ball makes maneuvering this vacuum around a breeze too.

Have only had for a week or two but its awesome. last month i bought the Dyson V8 and have been using it every other day, its scary to see how dirty my floors were. this big ball Dyson is picking up even more. i've been so impressed with the V8 its been hard to become even more impressed but if it wasn't for the use of the V8 for the last month i would be equally impress with the big ball. this Big ball will pick up more dirt than the V8 and best of all doesn't run out of juice. i have used the V8 then big ball then V8 over the same room just to compare making multiple passes. my old vacuum was an Oreck that my wife got at the local thrift store, we did have it rebuilt but i think it was just warn out prior to us getting it at least compared to these two new vacuums

The newer version of the Dyson vacuum cleaner works better than the one I had before. A little easier to use.

We have two German shepherds (both long and short hair) so we are constantly at war with pet hair. Our old Dyson had fought the good fight since 96’ and we were really hoping for a replacement that didn’t have the silly looking ball on the bottom of the vacuum. Besides the price and look, this vacuum is everything we have come to expect from Dyson and more. The new design is definitely an upgrade as the hose is easier to use and the self adjusting vacuum head actually works on the wood and tile floors. The attachments actually work and save time when cleaning couches and comforters. At more than three times the cost of most vacuums on the market I really hope this one holds up like our last one, but from what we’ve seen thus far, it was a great purchase.

Excellent vacuum even though it is expensive purchase. It was fairly simple to assemble and start vacuuming.

Replaced my old Dyson from 4 years ago. The new product is great. Good for our dogs and happy with purchase.

You get what you pay for! It's expensive but Dyson always lasts me at least ten years of excellent suction.

We have a dog and a long hair cat we vacuum 3 times a week and the dyson does a great job

This really is the best vacuum. No bags, no mess! Easy to assemble and ready to go in minutes. The tools are easy to attach and use. The canister is equally easy to empty and no filters to wash. Worth every penny spent. I've owned several brands of vacuum and nothing compares!
