We had a Shark vacuum and used it for years. The house would get vacuumed weekly. We put the Dyson to the test and even though the house had been cleaned earlier, we needed to empty the container TWICE proving that the Shark just didn't have the same cleaning capability as the Dyson. It is a great unit and quieter than our previous vacumms. We have already recommened the unit to several of our friends. We woiuld definitely use Dyson again.

This time the actual "inner ring" of one of the side panels on the ball actually broke off while vacuuming. Only had it for about 2 years. But as long as Best Buy is offering the warranty plan for around $100, it is better than spending $600 on a new one. Which I won't do again with dyson. Nice vacuum with great suction power but flimsy plastic components and not worth the asking price on these.
