||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am completely disappointed in this vacuum, don't quite understand how the quality and ease of use declined so greatly in such a highly rated, higher end product. I love my older model Dyson, it is about 10 years old, in great condition but needed some parts replaced; a gasket,belt, and filter. Before the parts arrived I ended up needing to vacuum for guests so I got a new Dyson and planned to re-purpose the older one. I did some quick research on price & performance, and at the store ended up choosing the best model Best Buy had to offer, as family has allergies and I was expecting a long lasting, quality product. From the very first time I set up and used this vacuum I was unhappy, the suction is equal or less than my 10 year old model, motion is not smooth, difficult around furniture. This unit is hard to control; the roller ball is very hard to maneuver and REALLY hard on your arm & shoulder. I am fairly athletic and can only imagine someone who wasn't would find it difficult and painful to use even for a short time. The tools and bag seemed exciting at first but quickly realized that there is no on board storage for even the 1-2 most commonly used accessories and nowhere to put the bag unless you want to carry it like a purse from room to room. The new accessories only work with the new models because they click into the hose instead of a tension fit.. Seems like the idea behind all the new tools is good but the execution is poor, down to the way the accessories don't fit neatly into the pockets of the bag. For the price I feel like there are many competitors models with superior performance at about 1/2 the cost. I was a big fan & cheerleader for Dyson but unless there is a major improvement in quality this will be my last. If I hadn't needed to use this the night I purchased it I would have returned it the very next day, but once it was used & the clear canister showing such I felt stuck. Honestly with the parts replaced my older model works good as new, I wish I had not splurged on this expensive, clunky, so-so vacuum. Very disappointed.

We went over the same area with the Dyson and were astounded by how much more it picked up! Two days after getting it our cat knocked over a Large potted plant upside down on our WHITE carpet. The vacuum picked it all up no problem and the carpet looks exactly the same as before. Very satisfied.

Sufficient Vacuum

However this vacuum feels cheaply made. A lot of plastic. The extension hose is not the best for price of vacuum. Also, vacuum does not fit difficult areas such as floor beneath edge of cabinets in bathrooms and kitchen. I don't know if I would but again given price.

Our Dyson Cinetic Big Ball upright vacuum features ball technology, with a central steering mechanism, for greater control and no awkward moves. They are also out first machines to feature no filters to wash or replace, thanks to the oscillating Dyson Cinetic tips located in the cyclone pack.
The Dyson Cinetic is a heavier machine; one thing that you may notice, however, is the brush bar of your machine may help to move the machine along the carpet due to the natural rotation of the brush bar. Also, rest assured, Dyson machines are made from polycarbonate ABS, which is same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. They are tough, so we subject them to 50,000 hours of testing and 550 individual tests – all to ensure that they can withstand a lifetime’s hard use. I thought my old Dyson was still doing a pretty good job. Was I surprised when I saw the amount of fine dirt that was coming off my floors. I love the ball. It’s a little awkward at first but once you get used to it you are able to maneuver it in ways you can’t with a straight moving machine.
