I just bought this as my Christmas Present to myself today and other than my Garmin, it's the best purchase I have ever made. I am THRILLED. Yes, it's only been a day, but I could not believe what was coming from my carpets into the bin. I have 3 dogs. One is a minimal shedder and the other two are poodles so no shedding, BUT animals have dander and they collect dust on their fur and eventually the house smells "doggy" no matter how much you clean. Also, my Eureka vacumn smelled terrible though I had a spare filter that I'd wash and switch out each sweeping. I honestly had gotten tired of running my Eureka and still having dirty looking carpets and hated the thought of dragging it out so sometimes thought, "what the heck, I'll do it tomorrow". Well, after a very busy day I tried the Dyson DC41 and ended up sweeping the entire downstairs and getting tons of fine dust and dog hair that I wouldn't have dreamed would be in the area rugs. We have lots of wood in the house as well, and the DC41 sucks any dust or dirt brought in by the pooches right up. Sweep, step on bare floor with bare feet and you feel nothing but nice clean floor! A bit pricey? Yes, but I got mine on sale so saved some money but I'd have bought at regular price for the satisfaction of knowing my house is CLEAN and smells great! Is vacumning fun? Not really, but it is kind of neat to vacumn with this beast and watch just one pass make your carpet, area rugs and floor spotless!

Overall, this is a super easy to use vacuum. It does a good job of cleaning the dog hair from my carpet and upholstery. I like its quietness and the turning ball system.

This is my second Dyson, the first one "lost its suction". I thought about buying another brand, but decided to give Dyson another try. I was fascinated by the ball design as well as the feature of the vacuum for going over Different floor types without changing the setting. You can go from carpeting to hardwood back to carpet without any hesitation and I love that! The suction is great, but that is always true with a new vac, so the jury is out on durability. In addition, the vac is so lightweight that it almost seems flimsy, but being light is also a huge plus.

I got this DC41 when Dyson had 20% off deal for Mother Day Week. It looks great and has more suction power than my old DC24. I have the DC24 for 2 years and this DC41 is definitely an upgrade. Longer cords, higher amp motor, bigger dirt bin, wider path, turbine, tools. I spend less time vacumming the house than the DC24. This is an excellent deal with the sale because I would not pay $599 retail. One negative point that I don't like is the switch for moving. I can move the DC24 in upright position; however, I can't do that with the DC41 because it keeps turn back to the rolling mode.

Simply the most wonderful vacuum on the market!!! I have three dogs and eight cats. This vacuum has changed my life! I vacuum daily and this vacuum gets all of the hair/fur off my hardwoods, carpet and tile. I use the tools to clean my ceiling fans, flat screens, furniture, etc. Fabulous! Love the canister vs. bags! One click to empty and you're ready to continue. The Dyson is extremely easy to handle. Great manueverability! I bought this for myself at Best Buy! Great price and 18 month interest-free financing. Superb vacuum from a super vendor !

This new Dyson ball is awesome. I wasn't a big fan of the previous Dyson ball compared to the standard vacuum, but this one is strong and light with powerful suction. The price is a bit high but worth it for a long term investment if you have pets.

I have had this vacuum for the about three months and it has been working very well. The pickup is very good and with the long cord I am only have to move the plug once to complete the entire house instead of three times with my previous vacuum. It was remarkable at how much this new unit picked up after we just had vacuumed with the old unit. It could really use a light on the front to see in some of the shadows of the furniture.

I got a great deal on this at Best Buy since it was on sale and they had honored a 20% sale from a competitor. This tool is easy to clean up without the need for bags. So far the suction is working great for picking up animal hair. I love the long chord, the easy to store tools, and the long extra hose for use on the stairway. In fact the kids loved this tool so much that they volunteered to vacuum for me!

I have three Dysons and this is the best one yet. My DC-07 is six years old now and still works great but it was not made specifically for animal use and yes, it is quite heavy. In my opinion the DC-23 Animal (canister) is OK but would be better suited for a one dog or cat home. This DC-41 Animal is AWESOME. It's the first one I've had with the ball and it is very easy to navigate; it changes effortlessly from carpet to hard floor use; it's light enough but gets EVERYTHING out of the carpet. The air flow and suction is unparalleled and the bin is big enough to handle everything that seven dogs leave on the floor (and furniture). Additionally, I don't think you will find a lower price or better financing than Best Buy.

This new DC41 model has the greatest suction ability of any cleaner on the market..The price is high but if you look around you can buy one on sale at a price competitive with any other good quality cleaner. The ball is a neat innovation allowing quick and agile turning and ease of handling and working with..The cleaner does a wonderful job and is easy to use

Thought about buying for sometime and glad we finally did. It was easy to assemble and very easy to use. Picks up so much more than our old ones did. Even with the expense, I would recommend to anyone looking for a really good vacuum.

I have a high end vacuum well my father does. It out did every vacuum I ever bought and put up against it --5 different vacuums to be precise. Also it is a commercial Grade vacuum Kirby a few years back and nothing has ever cleaned up as good as that so I decided to put another vacuum up against the Kirby again. Yet the Dyson picked up what the Kirby did not. Very fine baby powder spilled and I have also used that carpet powder that makes it smell good *due to us having 4 dogs and a cat and 4 kids* I was amazed at all of the Dyson was able to pick up right after using the Kirby and going over the whole carpet 3 times slowly ( I only went over the whole carpet with the Dyson 1 time But it was slowly paced )

I really LOVE my new Dyson animal vacuum cleaner. I have never had this much fun doing the housework. The DC-41 is what I decided on and it wasn't hard to put it together. It took me less than 5 minutes and I was off and vacuuming. It made my carpets look new again. I have a dog and this machine picks up all the hair. The attachment that came with the Dyson attaches with ease and cleans fast. The suction is amazing. This is now therapy instead of a chore. You will not be sorry you made this purchase. I will never go back to a "regular" vacuum again!

I knew I was going to love this vacuum after I used it the first time. I had vacuumed the day before with my old vacuum, and the old one broke as I was on the last room (I knew it was near the end). I brought this baby home the very next day and could not believe what my old vacuum had not been picking up (and it seemed like it did okay). I filled the canister twice in almost every room. The carpet feels soft and new every time I vacuum now. And I can finally get the junk out of those pesky stairs.

The Dyson is pretty good at doing everything you want it to do. Picks up all the dog and cat hair. Since I got the animal it comes with that little extra tool. Comes in handy when you are cleaning up the couches. The only 2 little things I don't like about it is when you go to stand it back up you really got to push it up or else it will fall back down and you better be quick to catch it. And the other thing is the hose that comes out to use the crevices tool. Its too long when you just want to clean something close to you. Sometimes it pinches itself and make a nasty sound so then you have to pull it some and then go to bend it so it doesn't pinch itself. Other than those little complaints its a great vacuum for the money.

I have had a Dyson before, but this one is amazing. When they say no loss of suction, its true. I used my Kirby and then ran my Dyson over the same area and I was surprised on how much was left! It also gives your carpet that new carpet feel.

This vacuum is the best! It is the first one that has picked up dog hair the first time and not have to go over the same areas twice. It was easy to put together and use. Also, very easy to empty the canister when it fills up. No belts and no bags to replace.

It's unbelievable how much dirt and pet hair this vacuum gets out of my carpet!! It actually feels clean now when I walk on it. The vacuum is really lightweight and very easy to maneuver. Overall, I am very happy with this product.

The Dyson DC 41 I purchased on 2 JAN 2012 was expensive at 599.99, but after going through our third vacuum in as many years it has been well worth it. The vacuums I had before were the Electrolux, Shark, and Roomba. NONE can compare even close to the Dyson. The Dyson has more sucking power and better constructed than the others. The vacuum took less than 5 minutes to put together and was ready to use. Where the others were a little difficult and clunky. We just moved into a rental home and ran the DC 41 for the first time in the home on carpets and hardwoods....the vacuum picked up pet hair, dust, sand, and filled the canister after doing the entire 2200 SQFT home. By the way the dog hair picked up was white....I have a red Basenji...so yea it picked up hair from previous owners after we have already ran a different vacuum a few times prior to the Dyson DC 41. As a reviewer stated above the DC 41 does not move as easy on hard wood or flat surfaces not rug, but its minute since it cleans so well. This vacuum is a "must-have" you might as well pay this one time payment than by 3 or 4 vacuums that will waster your money. Other than the 599 price its weight is a little heavier than other vacuums, which may be annoyance to others, but after having other lighter vacuums they just don't last...I have a feeling this one will! I hope you find my review helpful...its a solid product. I would recommend this to anyone with an animal.

Pricier than other brands but it out performs any other we have ever owned. the roller ball makes it EZ to handle and it cleans up the pet hair and other dirt off the floors and furniture really great.
