When the old vacuum started declining, we decided to get "the best" in the vacuum world. I read lots of reviews and researched online. Everything lead to Dyson. I was BLOWN AWAY when we got the DC41 home! My husband had to empty the canister 4 times before he stopped getting massive amounts of stuff out of the carpet in the living room (and we do not wear shoes inside). I couldn't believe what was coming out of the carpets. It literally made me feel cleaner to know that all of that yuck was out of my house!! You will be amazed!!! I even took it to my parents and vacuumed their carpet after my dad used his Oreck and I still got more out of the carpet!! They were amazed too!! And it has a super long hose and power cord, and the furniture brush works great!

Keeps picking up more and more. It is even getting old spots I never thought could come out. I think the extension hose does not reach as far as it should because of the fantastic suction, but does such a good job this inconvenience is minor. If you can afford it, it is a good machine. Carrying handle seems weak so I can't trust it yet.

Bought this at my local Best Buy and used it immediately after getting it home. Good power, works great. Nice fit and finish. Very powerful vacuum. The only vacuums I have used that were more powerful were nearly 3 times the price and meant for commercial use.

Had the vacumn for one month and we love it. It is perfect with our two dogs. I am enjoying not having to replace vacumn bags. Very good suction power and powerful brush. Good quality workmanship. A little pricey but it will help not having to buy bags.

I have used a Ricar for the last five years - great vacuum but required many service trips - 3-4 per year. The vacuum was great until the warranty expired. I ended up purchasing the Dyson based on recommendations from Best Buy sales. I have no complaints other than the entire vacuum exterior is plastic. I never realized how much dirt gets sucked up (always had bags). I empty at least 1x every two weeks (I vacuum at least 2x per week).

I had a DC25 which I was very happy with. My wife and I recently moved to Texas as started to notice we were getting allergies therefore decided to return the 25 and get the 41 since it deals with allergens. One thing I immediately noticed is the vacuum felt cheaper even though it was more expensive. Also for some reason beyond me they perforated the holes in the top of the handle so if the vacuum is upright and you turn it on, suction goes through the top which makes absolutely no sense. The DC25 handle top was solid so you could never get your hand sucked onto the top of it. There is no spot for the brush to rest so we keep it in the closet. I tried to leave it on but if you do, and turn the vacuum on upright, it starts spinning which to me is dangerous. Another thing is you don’t step on a latch to lower it from the upright position. As someone who likes to move a vacuum around by rolling it on its hind wheels, this is a nuisance since I keep unintentionally lowering the handle. I like the DC25 feel better but unfortunately this is the model that deals with allergens and pet hair so this works best for us. The suction is great and it has a bigger canister. If they ever make a DC25 animal, I would say get that.

I have bought several vacuums over the years but none have been easier to drive. Cleaning is great. Very convenient and quick method for emptying the dust canister. Best vacuum I have ever bought!

I believe this vacuum is a little expensive but to me it's well worth it. It gets up all the dog hair from my two chihuahuas and one American Eskimo. It's extremely easy to turn and move around furniture. I have arthritis in my back and frequent muscle spasms but I do not have any problems using this vacuum.It works great on my area rugs (one of which is extremely plush) and hardwood floors. The extension hose can be difficult to remove and put back but to be honest I do not use it that much. I would highly recommend this to anyone with pets.

This vacuum is simply awesome! Yes it's expensive -- but worth every dollar! It was incredibly easy to set-up and so easy to use. I love not having to mess with vacuum bags! Buy this -- you will not be disappointed!

Great vacuum with incredible power in a small size. When I was going over the attachments I couldn't help but appreciate the engineering and attention to detail.

I bought this vacuum in hopes to clean fast and efficiently. Mission accomplished. I absolutely love how easy this vacuum is to maneuver. I have used it on carpet, linoleum, chair seat cushions, and the inside of our vehicles. The only thing I do not like is how stiff the attachment hose is. It is conviently stored in the handle, which gives you easy access to it. I think the more I use it, the less stiff it will become. I hope! Overall, I think this is a really great product for those who are tired of their cheaply made, low suction powered vacuum.

With four dogs, who all come inside, this vacuum does an excellant job getting up the pet hair and other dirt they bring in. Easy to get it all, even from the nooks and crannies!

This is a great vacuum but if you have a very thick carpet and a pet (liquid proof) type pad under it may create too good of a suction and be difficult to push. I love mine.

The maneuverability is the only thing I'm impressed with, and that's on carpet, it doesn't move well on hard floors. It didn't seem any more powerful than any carpet vacuum 1/2 the price. The hose is very awkward, but the vacuum didn't fall over when I had to twist it in to position. There's locking mechanisms on the hose attachments...why? I've never had a problem with the attachments falling off with only a press fit. Emptying the canister was a breeze with my old Bissel, this one traps debris and will not empty completely unless you stick ur hand in the dirty mess. There is no place on the vacuum to attach the "power brush" hose attachment. It is significantly quieter than the average vacuum and lighter.

This sweeper's cleaning ability is pretty amazing. Upon first use we were astonished at how much dirt it picked up off of carpeted floors we thought were fairly clean. The bag was full in no time! It continues to impresss. The sweeper is easy to maneuver and it is not too heavy when it needs to be carried. It can hug walls closely for a "clean sweep" . The hose can extend all the way up a flight of stairs from a ground floor position. We were hesitant to spend this amount of money on a sweeper, but it does seem to be of high quality. My one complaint is that you need to push the handle pretty firmly after use to get the sweeper to stay in the "up right" position. Other than this, we are sold and pleased so far after two months of ownership.

Pros - good suction, handles fairly well, no smell of any dust when cleaning. Cons - hose is a little awkward, but I'll get used to it. Seems like the hose could be a little bit longer.

This is all that was promised. It picks up pet hair like crazy. Works well on all surfaces with no height adjustment because it does it automatically. Plenty of tools that work well. The power cord that was an issue on earlier models is more than long enough. I plug it in a central location and I can do my whole house. My in-laws and neighbor have bought the same model after trying ours. Only have had it a month, I will repost in a year.

This vacuum is worth the price. I have lots of pets & traffic . This is the first vacuum I've owned that handles it well. I do have to empty the canister more than I'd like but that could be the massive amount of crud and not the vacuum's fault. It got clogged a couple of times but was easy to dissemble and unclog. It doesn't smell bad like my other vacuums did. The attachments are easy to use though I wish there was more of them.

This is my first Dyson. You wonder if everything is just hype but I had two friends that vouched for the brand. Well, I can now add my thumbs up for this vacuum. Couldn't believe how much dust the DC41 pulled out of my carpets. The carpets feel softer and the pile is lifted so they look much better too. I highly recommend the DC41.

My first Dyson and it did not disappoint. Used this on a small part of a already vacuumed rug and it quickly picked up dirt. My old rugs never looked better. Worth every $.
