i sold dysons for a long time and loved them before i bought one now i love them even more. the only thing i do not like about the dyson is that it does not like to stay in the vertical position, it will have the back fall down witht the slightest influence.

Although it has great suction power and the canister is very easy to empty, it is very hard to maneuver in general and particularly hard around furniture. Because of the large ball in the middle, you can't vacuum under chairs without having to move them completely and you can't vacuum well under the kitchen cabinet overhang. It also leaves annoying "lines" in the carpet. The accessory tools are not easy to use either. I bought it right after a death in my family because my old one broke in the middle of everything. When I was finally able to get back to the store to return it, it had been about 37 days since I purchased it and I wasn't able to return or exchange it since it had been more than 30 days, so I wasn't very happy about that either. So now I have a $600 vacuum that I hate.

I have allergies, cats and asthma, and I have noticed a significant improvement in my air quality. I'm not easily impressed by things but this vacuum is the real deal.

I love this vacuum and am so happy that I purchased it! I have a dog and between the 2 of us we shed quite a bit. This picks up everything. It picks up dust in the carpet that you can't even see too. After I use it I can't believe how dirty my carpet was because of everything the vacuum picks up!

Bought a DC-41 in december. The belt snapped this past weekend due to getting the bed skirt caught in the cleaning head. Apparently the brilliant minds at Dyson felt that when the belt breaks it would be easier to replace the entire cleaning head versus replacing a simple belt. The cleaning head is a cost of $110 if not under warranty. All due to a simple belt breaking. So I'm now out for potentially a few weeks from what the repair shop has told me. The machine was great, however knowing about the servicing of this machine I would have thought twice.

It's amazing how much pet hair this vacuum picks up. The only problem is that the suction is so high, we can't use it on smaller area rugs ... but that's why it works so well throughout the house. Definite worth the purchase.

We have spent so much money on vacuums over the years that don't work. We finally paid the price for a great one and it's so worth it! We have hardwood and carpet throughout our house and a dog that sheds a lot. This has been wonderful to clean with. It makes vacuuming fun!

I bought this vacuum about 3 years ago. It worked really well for about for awhile but I noticed within the last year or so that it hardly picks up anymore. I've followed the directions on cleaning it and still it hardly picks up. I'll see a piece of lint on the ground and sometimes I have to pick it up by hand because the vacuum won't. Now, I noticed when I'm vacuuming over the wood floor that the vacuum began marking it up. I checked it out and its one of the small wheels that suppose to turn but keeps getting stuck. I called Dyson to finding out how much it would cost to replace that small wheel and, of course, it means I have to replace a larger part that costs over $60. So now I'm out $560 for a vacuum cleaner that worked for 3 years. I've had other vacuums in the past like Hoover that cost around $150 and these were much better and lasted a lot longer than the Dyson. I definitely would not recommend this vacuum cleaner.

I used to have an Oreck and while the Dyson DC41 Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum weights more; the power and suction of this vacuum is unbelievable. This is the best vacuum I have ever used. If you are looking for a high end bagless vacuum this is it!

My old vacuum was a dyson 24 (no ball), I wanted the animal model with ball because I have two dogs. It's is great as all Dysons but for this to be called the "animal" model is a joke. It's pretty much useless unless you buy other attachments which do not come with the unit. The attachments that come with the unit are angled so they do not allow you to vacuum well under furniture that is approximately 3 -4 inches off the floor. This model is also heavier than my other Dyson model. I also found that the vacuum extension unit is cheaply made compared to my old model. For the money spent I'm disappointed and only give a two rating. I will have to spend about another 60 or 70 bucks to get the attachments to do under furniture that are not angled.

We have two golden retrievers. It does great on picking up the dog hair.The one negative we found is the hose is bulky to use.

This is an awesome vacuum cleaner. I don't like the price as I am sure is a common issue, but I do not regret the purchase. Like I said about the upright position, it is hard put back up into the locked, standing position. Sometimes it will just fall right back down.

Seriously, it's the best vacuum I've ever used. Expensive, yes. Worth it? YES! Ok, it's a little heavier than my old one but that's completely moot when you see how well it vacuums.

I have been using my mothers high end unit from another company. I thought it was cleaning well, I was wrong. The dyson is amazing. I couldn't be happier.

The Dyson 41 Animal is a great vacuum. The only drawback is the instruction manual. It is all pictures, no words and is difficult to follow.

Was easy to put together; does a great job of picking up dog hair; easy to empty dirt canister.

I have three dogs and this thing gets every bit of hair in its path.

I am very happy with this model and the price I paid for it

I though this vacuum was all hype. But boy does it work great. Plus it has a five year warranty.
