You do have three suction modes to choose from, which provide anywhere from 5-60 minutes of run time. The high/boost mode of suction is great for large debris or more stubborn messes, but we would not recommend that mode for everyday cleaning, as it does provide less run time.     I own a Dyson Animal Vacuum cleaner that I have had at least 10 or more years. It is too heavy for me to manage so I have been wanting a Dyson Cordless stick vacuum for a couple years. After wasting money on 2 off brands, I finally asked for one for Christmas. What a great powerful vacuum. No more cussing because those off-brands would NOT pick up dirt. It gets the job done fast and completely.
