The suction on high is the only one sufficient to clean carpet. When using on high, the battery is listed to last for only 7 minutes. It takes over 3 hours to fully recharge. Even on high, then vacuum will only suck up whatever is directly in front of it. You'll have to go back and use a different attachment to do around table legs, baseboards, etc. Gets clogged every single time we use it as well. This requires manually unclogging it. The only practical use I could ever see for this is daily floor vacuuming on hard floors, using on medium power. Other than that, absultely worthless. No idea where these amazing reviews are coming from.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear of your frustration with your Dyson V10 Animal cordless machine. The V10 features 3 different power modes: suction mode 1, suction mode 2 and boost mode and, depending on the mode or combination of modes/tools used, provides up to 60 minutes of run time.
The boost mode is designed to provide a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes. Suction mode 1 and suction mode 2 are both ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks. The V10's cleanerhead also has a manual height adjustment lever to get closer to flooring or higher for thicker carpet.
The V10 machine is designed to provide strong, steady suction whenever the trigger is on and does require routine maintenance to keep it in optimal performance. This does include blockage removal and washing the filter, and depending on your cleaning tasks, you may need to perform some of the maintenance more often.

Replaced my corded vacuum
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been wanting a Dyson cordless vacuum for the longest time and I’m so glad I finally got one. This vacuum has replaced my corded vacuum and couldn’t be happier about my decision to only use my Dyson. I vacuumed my carpets with my old vacuum before using my Dyson and when I went back over with my Dyson, it picked up a whole tank of debris that was left behind!!! It’s awesome. My only complaint would be that it’s a little hard to detach the stick/wand from the handheld unit. I didn’t have that problem when I had the Absolute version, which is a little weird. Overall, very good buy and worth every penny.
