It is supposed to have a battery life of nearly an hour but it won't last more than 15 minutes but that is because it is in use with the beater bar attachment. It is a glorified expensive dustbuster that does work great but in no way does it replace a normal plug in vacuum which is what we purchased it for.

Posted .Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Dyson Cyclone V10. Please keep in mind that your machine will offer three suction modes for use with cleaning around your home. Along with three different suction modes, you will also have a suction control slider at the cleaner head for use with cleaning across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, we would not expect you to require the MAX suction setting, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job.
In suction setting 2 Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 20 minutes of run time with a motorized cleaner head or up to 30 minutes when used in suction setting 1. Without the motorized cleaner head, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 60 minutes of run time on a full charge, making it our longest running cordless model to date. Not so hot.

The vacuum does not stand upright and must be leaned against something or put on the floor. It does not have lights so seeing what might be on the floor is less than ideal. The "on" trigger must be held manually while using the vacuum as there is no trigger lock. Finger gets sore after a while. Admittedly it was a less expensive model, but it was way overpriced for what is provided.

I can confirm that this model, along with our other cord-free machines, do not lock into place so they can be stood upright.
