So in the end I’ll take a cord vacuum over this one so I know the power will last until I say I’m done with it.

The Dyson V10 Animal provides 3 suction power modes: suction mode 1, suction mode 2 and max mode. Suction mode 1 and suction mode 2 are ideal for most cleaning tasks. The max mode is meant to be a temporary boost of power for extremely persistent messes and is not designed to be the main mode used.

My issue is that you need to hold the "trigger" the entire time one is vacuuming; it's a bit of an annoyance.
