Posted .Hello Terry, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that the battery in your Cyclone V10 Animal has degraded at such a fast pace. The actual run time you will receive will vary based on power mode, dust level, floor type and the attachment/tool used. Dyson cord-free machines offer anywhere from 5-60 minutes of run time on a single battery charge. If you use the max power mode for everyday cleaning jobs, or with every use, you will find that your battery will lose power at a much faster pace. We would also recommend allowing your machine some time to cool after using in this mode, as charging a battery while warm can also cause premature degradation. Good auction horrible battery

In regards to the run time, please keep in mind that your machine will offer three suction modes for use with cleaning around your home. Along with three different suction modes, you will also have a suction control slider at the cleaner head for use with cleaning across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, we would not expect you to require the MAX suction setting, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job.
In suction setting 2 Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 20 minutes of run time with a motorized cleaner head or up to 30 minutes when used in suction setting 1. Without the motorized cleaner head, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 60 minutes of run time on a full charge, making it our longest running cordless model to date. I used the vacuum twice before the battery stopped taking a full charge. I moved the charger to different outlets and the result was the same. 2-3 minutes of vacuuming time before it ran out of power. This was after it charged for over 24 hours. One tip, but the warranty package otherwise BB ships it our to be repaired.
