But when I used it it ran out of power quickly and battery got very hot. I had gotten the stick one because it’s very hard on my back to vacuum. I did change the the level of carpet size and works a little better. The battery doesn’t get as hot. But still not very happy with it. Thank you

Posted .Hello Gizzy, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear that upon your first use of your Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal, you experienced short run times. Your machine comes with three suction power modes; low, medium and high. It sounds like from the short run times you received, along with the battery feeling warm after use, that you may have had the machine in the highest suction mode. Along with three different suction modes, you will also have a suction control slider at the cleaner head for use with cleaning across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, we would not expect you to require the MAX suction setting, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job.
In suction setting 2, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 20 minutes of run time with a motorized cleaner head or up to 30 minutes when used in suction setting 1. Without the motorized cleaner head, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 60 minutes of run time on a full charge, making it our longest running cordless model to date.
