Nearly as powerful as our Dyson plug in
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compared to the other Dyson cordless vacuums we have, this is by far the best. And in 2 years it hasn't broken on us (which is a first for a cordless Dyson with us). It vacuums very well, and with its automatic sensing knows when to kick into turbo mode, the battery lasts a very long time, and the suction really is incredible. The only drawback is the difficulty, at least compared to the older versions, with emptying the dustbin. It requires you to take off the down tube before you can empty, where is the older versions you could in theory at least empty it without removing the downtube. We have a V7 also, and this is much much more powerful than that is, and the battery lasts at least twice as long if not more, other than needing to change an empty the dustbin, we can easily vacuum 1500 square feet on our first floor, and this is with two dogs that shed quite a bit. It's not cheap, but I can definitely recommend this vacuum based off its reliability and ability to clean floors.

Can’t believe vacuums have gone back in time and produced worst suction. yes it’s light and yes it’s “easy” to use but the battery lasts maybe 20 minutes and you need to keep it on the turbo power for it to suck up anything of sustenance. I would recommend a Miele over this gimmick anyday.

What you've described definitely would not be the experience we'd expect you to have with your new Dyson machine. Dyson Cyclone V10™ vacuums will include a reusable filter, which will have a monthly filter washing requirement. That said, while we would recommend washing the filter regularly, as outlined in the user guide, we certainly would not anticipate a need to sweep everything, and also spend more time cleaning every part of your machine than actually using it.
