BAD decision. Battery lasted about 8 minutes on full charge. Took it back 5 days after purchase and elected to go woth the V15 animal. The one great thing about buying these at best buy (if youre a total tech member) is that everything you buy comes with a 2 year warranty and is easily replaced (10 minutes in store) Bad vaccum, awesome warranty.

After cleaning the filter, and removing all the appropriate dirt, it was still shutting down after a few seconds of suction on the carpet. We returned it and upgraded to the V11 which works great.

We’ve cleaned it, made sure it’s plugged in, changed plugs, and nothing we’ve done will work. It’s unfortunately way past the return date, but I would think long and hard about purchasing a Dyson. The person who sold it to us assured us it would last us for years and years to come, and it’s extremely disappointing to see the quality isn’t the same as it used to be.

Battery does not last at all!

The battery does not last at all, you have to hold the trigger to make it run and you can’t stand it up if you need to move something. Way over priced for what you get. When it is running it picks up well.

We hear they clean more often, but in shorter bursts, spending less than 20 minutes per clean. The new Cyclone V10 vacuum offers our longest run time. It runs for up to 60 minutes on a full charge, or about 35 minutes when using a motorized floor tool.

Not happy with my purchase

After actually using it, I was disappointed that the battery life. I can only get 2 rooms done before the battery dies. At 6 months, the vacuum is even worse. I purchased another vacuum (a bissell) 3 days ago and used it right after using the dyson. I filled the canister 3 times. I have ALWAYS been a dyson consumer, but after this purchase, I may never buy another dyson again. Very disappointed. A $420 vacuum should last longer than 6 months.

I loved it until it broke within the first 2 weeks , we brought it to DYSON dealer who were very helpful and had it fixed After the third time we got a different vacuum, no more DYSON’s for us!!!

Battery just doesn't hold up for price

The Dyson V10 cordless provides up to 60 minutes of run time, depending on which of the 3 modes used. Out-the-box, the machine is set to the boost mode, which provides up to 7 minutes when used with the Torque Drive cleanerhead. The boost mode is a temporary boost of power ideal for particularly stubborn messes; mode 1 and mode 2 both are ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks. We recommend switching the machine to either mode 1 or mode 2 to maximize your run time.

Not worth the money

Please keep in mind that your machine will offer three suction modes for use with cleaning around your home. Along with three different suction modes, you will also have a suction control slider at the cleaner head for use with cleaning across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, we would not expect you to require the MAX suction setting, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job.
In suction setting 2, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 20 minutes of run time with a motorized cleaner head or up to 30 minutes when used in suction setting 1. Unclogged it and did it again over and over. Returned this model thinking it was defective and got the same one and it did the exact same thing again repeatedly. Tried to just return and get my money back and Best Buy would only allow an exchange. Waste of money and poor customer service. Piece of junk vacuum. Had the V8 and worked great, shouldn’t have tried to upgrade.

Only lasted about 45 minutes on medium setting. Low setting didn't provide enough suction. Battery is integrated, so you cannot have one in reserve charging. Plus the "on" trigger will not lock on, you have to squeeze constantly it to keep it going, and the trigger has a protective flange that cuts into your finger after a while. On the plus side, its easy to empty. That's all.

While the trigger does require being held, it is a runtime enhancing light touch trigger, which requires little pressure to run the unit as well. It may also prove helpful to ensure the unit is held with a firm, but not a very tight grasp, given that the light touch trigger does not require a very hard press or grasp to operate.

Great Suction - Horrible Battery

The vacuum was different adn I enjoyed being able to make it handheld immediately, but it doesn't last. If you have a small apartment and no pets, this might be okay. However, if you have a home and have kids and/or pets, this isn't a practical solution. I ended up getting a Shark upright and so far I like it as it meets my needs and doesn't die. Dyson would do better if the better detached for charging. That way people coul dhave more than one battery and use it aroudn the hous. ALSO, it feels really heavy when holding it with one hand while cleaning.

The V10 Animal features three modes: Suction Mode 1, Suction Mode 2 and Boost Mode. Suction modes 1 and 2 are ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks, with the boost mode being available if you need a particularly stronger boost of power for extremity stubborn messes.
The V10's cleanerhead also features a manual adjustment lever at the front to get closer to hard flooring, or even higher for larger debris or plusher carpet.

Your machine's dust bin will have a max fill line, and we do recommend ensuring that you empty the bin before debris can fill past that line. Any dust or debris left in the bin beyond this point can get trapped in the upper portion of the bin, sticking between the bin and cyclone, and/or clogging the inlet on the upper portion of the cyclone.
