Why Didn't I Purchase This Sooner? Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a fairly new, full-size Dyson upright Vac but found with having carpet, plus hard floors, plus a shedding cat along with my OCD to keep the pet hair at bay; pulling out the corded upright Vac was a constant chore. (Plus, I was always pulling the corded upright over on its side when using the attachments, constant frustration.) Last week I spotted this Dyson cordless V10 on sale at Amazon and read the glowing reviews. I prefer to buy electronics at Best Buy, so I contacted Best Buy customer service for a price match, purchased over the phone and received it from Best Buy in 2-days. Boy am I glad I did, It's powerful, light weight, very easy to use (and store) and I absolutely love it! (I installed the charging wall-mount inside a closet with an electrical outlet.) I've used it several times over the past few days on my 1500 sq ft single story house and I couldn't be happier with it's performance. ( Cyclone V10 Animal) No lugging the corded upright out of the closet and dragging the cord room to room, changing outlets. I just whip out this Dyson stick, and zip, zip, zip; get the floors, baseboards, nooks , crannies and furniture in no time, i'm done in a flash! Love, love love!! No problem with battery life, I use it mostly on medium.. AND.. another bonus is, I can use this V10 on it's lowest setting for memory foam bathroom rugs and it doesn't suck them up like my one-speed (upright corded Dyson) did. It's the little things that make keeping up with housework not such a chore. Thanks Dyson and Best Buy!

Super Versatile Stick Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking forward to trying the new Dyson Cyclone v10 Animal Stick vacuum for a while now as I'm sick of dragging my corded vacuum around the house, into the garage and to job sites. This vacuum does not disappoint, it's small, light and packs plenty of sucking power and options into its small stature. It's also super versatile and can be used as a standard upright vacuum for floors, as a handheld for the car or boat and also works as a long-reach handheld unit for reaching those tough spots like curtains, spider webs in the ceiling corners or around windows, etc. In the box you get the cordless vacuum, Torque Drive Cleaner Head, Mini Motorized Tool, Mini Soft Dusting Brush, Crevice Tool, a Combination Tool, AC adapter cord for charging the vacuum and a very convenient docking/charging station you can screw to the wall for easy storage. The vacuum is well packaged and is easy to assemble, it took me all of 5 minutes to unbox and setup. The battery comes with a 20% charge, but Dyson recommends a complete charge before use, so I connected the charger and left it overnight. The Dyson worked beyond expectations, we have 2,500 sqft. of living space with a combination of carpets, area rugs and hardwood floor…and it was up to the task on all surfaces. It's easy to maneuver with that expected Dyson "ball" feels, so getting into corners and maneuvering is a breeze. The weight isn't bad, about 5 pounds, I didn't really notice it while using. The fully charged battery lasted for somewhere around 40-50 minutes, switching between the 3 power settings..including MAX mode. As marketed the battery does stay strong right up to the point of running out….which was kind of a pro and a con. We also played with all of the included tools and did just about a whole car before the battery was exhausted. Swapping out the different tools is a "snap" and makes for getting every nook and cranny effortless. Pros: - Size/Weight - vacuum is very small and light which makes for easy handling and also getting it up and down stairs, for car/boat use and taking to job sites. - Power - this thing really sucks! In a good way of course! I used it all over my house and car and really never had to use the Max Power option to pick up dirt and dust. Very impressive for the size of the unit. - Battery Life - Dyson claims 60 minutes, and although I'm yet to get there, it's pretty darn close. It can easily handle our entire home with a single charge. - Versatility - Can be used in so many different ways, it's like having 3 or 4 different vacuums! It's sold as a "Pet" vacuum but it so much more, great for around the house, garage, etc. Cons: - Upright Position - The vacuum will NOT stand upright on its own, it needs to be leaned against something or clicked into the included storage/charging station. Mild "Con" but just want to set expectations that this is a stick vacuum and not an upright. - Dust Bin Emptying - So it appears that Dyson has changed the layout of this unit to increase the size of the Dust Bin. It is larger for sure, but you have to disconnect the accessories in order to empty the bin. Not a deal breaker in my opinion, but wanted to point it out. Also, the mechanism for opening the bin is a bit tricky, it took me a few tries before figuring it out initially. You really have to give it a good swipe to pop the top open. - Battery - A non-integrated battery setup would be a nice bonus, so you could have a backup ready to go. Dyson has stuck by their design of an integrated battery system, which some people deem a "con". All-in-all the Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal Stick Vacuum is just what I was after in terms of size, performance and quality construction. I would certainly recommend this vacuum to friends with pets….or kids! It's easy to use and stores away easily.

It’s supposed to be for animals, which typically means it picks hair up well. WRONG. I have no pets and this vacuum gets clogged everytime you use it. DO NOT BUY IT. My $50 bissell vacuum I had before this one worked better. Waste of money.

I recharged it & tried it again still doesn't work. I am taking it back to get my money back. For the price it should last longer than 3 min. They sure don't make them like they use to. Very disappointed with the Dyson vacuum.

Stay away, no, run away

My vacuum, initially, seemed great. It failed after two months. I returned it under warranty, but after numerous broken promises, and slow responses (as long as three weeks for an email response), it appears, at best, assuming they don't break their most recent promises, it will be at least three months before my unit is replaced. Stay away....

Horrible So Far

Difficult to get insured item replaced or repaired

Went to the store many months ago and couldn't get any assistance to get it replaced or repaired. It's a shame we as customers pay so much money on your store products and the end result is so horrible to get any justice to have it replaced or repaired. A lemon is what I purchased. The Dyson V10 and V11 torque drive cleaner head includes a suction control lever in the cleaner head (torque drive only). On top of the ability to control suction in the cleaner head, you also have the options to switch between suction modes with any of the cordless machines. The machines with the ability to control suction at the cleaner head or ability to adjust suction (e.g., cordless) are great for those with thicker/higher pile carpets. The V10 Animal features 3 power modes, and the run time is up to 60 minutes, depending on the mode/combination of modes and tools used. Out-the-box, the machine may be set to boost mode, which is common. The boost mode is designed to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes and provides up to 7 minutes in total. The suction mode 1 and suction mode 2 are ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks.
The Torque Drive cleanerhead features a manual adjustment lever at the front, so you can manually adjust the height outside of the automatic adjustment sensor, if you have thicker carpet or want to get closer to hard flooring. We recommend using this lever as needed, along with adjusting the suction.

We hear they clean more often, but in shorter bursts, spending less than 20 minutes per clean. The new Cyclone V10 vacuum offers our longest run time. It runs for up to 60 minutes on a full charge, or about 35 minutes when using a motorized floor tool. While the motor is much louder than I expected, I love the fact that cleaning dust along the wall is enhanced by the suction power this little thing produces. Without worrying about cord management while cleaning I'm able to clean a room in record time. The vacuum is light, comparatively speaking, and easy to move around table/chair legs and the feet of shelves. It is also very simple to clean under the bed and anything else that is usually difficult to get to.

So disappointed

I bought for my Kids from Santa (clever right). Second use... Battery does not work!!!! Takes 10 Days to get a new one! Ugh! I get it and vacuum seems flawed. 14 days into my Dyson... still can use it. Guess I will keep using the vacuum I got from Walmart 10 years ago for $60....
