Great Suction...Could Be Better in Other Areas
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The vacuum looks great. It is lightweight, making it easy to carry up/down stairs. It does a great job of vacuuming. It has the most powerful suction that I have ever seen in a cordless vacuum. Since it is cordless, it is very versatile to use on the stairs, and in your car. The dirt canister is a nice size and is easy to empty. The vacuum comes out of the package set to Maximum suction. When used on MAX, it only lasts about 10 minutes before losing its charge. For normal usage, I would recommend using the Regular suction setting where the battery lasts much longer. It does not have an ON/OFF switch. You have to pull and hold a trigger the entire time that you use the vacuum. If you are using the vacuum for a short period of time, it is not an issue, but your hand gets fatigued after holding the trigger for a long period of time when vacuuming a larger area. It will also be an issue if you suffer from arthritis, carpal tunnel, or other hand issues. The head used to vacuum floors is a little narrow, so it takes some time to vacuum large areas. Also, the vacuum (with the floor head attached) will not stand up on its own. You must prop it up against something or lay it in the floor. It is the same way with charging the vacuum. If you do not use the included mounting bracket, you must prop it up against something or lay it in the floor to charge it. The mounting bracket attaches to the wall and the vacuum hangs off of the bracket. When the vacuum is hanging on the bracket, it sticks from the wall several inches. So, this makes it limited on where you can mount the bracket and it still look nice in your home. I chose to mount mine in the garage. The vacuum comes with several tool attachments, which is nice, but it would have been great if there was a storage bag that was included for the attachments that could be hung off of the wall mounting bracket. So, it is a little inconvenient to find another spot to store the extra tool attachments. Overall, the vacuum is OK. With just a few of the tweaks mentioned above, it would be great. It is lightweight, convenient, and has great suction. It is good for small vacuuming jobs. I mainly plan to use it to vacuum stairs, and our cars. But, I will continue using our other vacuum for the rest of the house.

The Dyson range of cordless vacuum cleaners has a battery-enhancing trigger. Battery power is only on when the trigger is pushed – this means that the battery is only used for cleaning, and is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles.
A Dyson tool bag can also be purchased separately to safely store the extra attachments.

Makes cleaning a breeze1

It is easy to maneuver and so it makes quick work of gathering up dog and cat fur. I love that it comes apart so cleaning areas like the stairs are a breeze. My only regret is that I didn't get it sooner.

We have had golden retrievers and the Dyson does great at getting hair.I have to empty this one often when cleaning but it is fine. It’s light and easy and battery last for the duration l need it.

Worth every penny, best investment wasted so much money buying cheaper brands to save money. Should've bought a dyson and really saved.

Posted .Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. It's rather unusual to hear that after just a few months of use, the battery in your Cyclone V10 Animal has had such a high level of degradation. Lithium-Ion batteries are subject to degradation over time. This is completely normal and occurs with any device that uses this type of battery. Battery degradation is not a fault of the machine. It happens to all batteries in everyday items, such as mobile phones and laptops. Unfortunately, we are unable to advise how long each component will last in each individual's home. Having said that, it should last well past the machine's 2-year guarantee.
If you are using the machine in high mode, you will receive significantly less run time, that when using medium or low modes. High mode is intended for more stubborn messes or larger debris and we would not expect you to need to utilize this amount of suction for everyday vacuuming. Also, if you find yourself charging the machine while it's still warm, this can also cause premature battery degradation. We're keen to go over your machine with you and learn more about your experience, as we'd like to help ensure that your Dyson is performing properly. It has three different modes that provide different levels of suction and run time. The lowest mode, which runs for up to 60 minutes, is recommended for hard floors. The mid-mode is great for cleaning carpets and will give you about 20 minutes of run time with a motorized floor tool. The max mode has the lowest run time and should only be used for heavy duty jobs and removing dirt hidden deep in the carpet.

Worst Vacuum Purchase Ever!!

From the first time use the battery only lasted 20 minutes on the minimum setting and 10 minutes on the max. For the price of this vacuum you would expect a much better product. To top it off, it's heavy.

Machine still works great with original battery and filter. Initially I thought this is a waste of money but I was wrong. To this day this is the best $373.00 I spent for a vacuum. Thinking of getting a v11 this year.
