Can't complain on performance, but the base price is just too high to really justify it normally, as is the case with nearly all of Dyson's products. Only reason I was able to get this one was an abundance of gift cards I had laying around.

Thank you for your review. This is Miella from Dyson. The Dyson V10 Animal machine features 3 different power modes: suction mode 1, suction mode 2 and boost mode.The Dyson V10 Animal provides up to 60 minutes of run time, depending on the modes used.
Out the box, the V10 machine is set to boost mode. Boost provides up to 7 minutes of total run time because it's meant to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes. For most tasks, suction mode 1 and suction mode 2 are perfect.

Well worth the money

It isn't wonderful on the hard floors. The beater bar doesn't tangle up at all.... which is pretty wonderful. As with any stick vacuum, it isn't forgiving of larger debris on the floor.

I’m not sure if the cost is worth it since there are some cheaper options with better build quality and durability. But definitely works as advertised. Would recommend if you have the money.

But, when it comes to the V10, I now understand why people say they are such great vacuums. The V10 Animal comes with a nice assortment of accessories. I think that this model is perfect and there is really no need for the V10 Absolute unless you want two or three more attachments. Power and suction are great. It is true that you really do not need a corded vacuum anymore. Dyson did a great job engineering the vacuum to make it lighter and powerful then the V8. Some things that I wish were more polished are the way to empty the dustbin. It just seems a bit flimsy when you press down on the red "trigger" to open the bin. It almost feels like the whole bin is going to fly off. Also something that I do not like is the power trigger. On the Dyson, you always have to hold down the trigger to clean. It starts to fatigue my finger. Maybe I'm just spoiled with other vacuums and their power switch. The new V10 Animal is a wonderful machine. Beautiful, powerful, and portable. I feel confident that this vacuum will last me for the next few years (and if not, theres a two year warranty).
