After 3 years of use it still looks brand new and perform as day 1 too. If you need vacuum cleaner go with this only.

The suction was not as good as the upright but I did not mind as much. Two years, three months later....my Dyson stopped working. It is out of warranty, because the warranty expired at two years. Honestly I loved the fact that I could vacuum my car without the hassle of fiddling with cords. I also liked the fact that I could vacuum my house without having to switch the cord from one outlet to the next. This vacuum is cheaply made. Dyson is definitely has gone downhill as far as quality goes.

The fundamental principal is the same as for all other electromagnetic motors. The specific type of motor used by Dyson has permanent magnets in the rotor and is called a brushless DC motor or a permanent-magnet synchronous motor. So there is no such thing as a digital Motor.

A P.E.E.K and carbon fiber composite were used for the impeller which has been overlapped to channel more airflow. This creates a larger surface area and improving efficiency. All of this designed to generate the suction power of a big vacuum making it our best cordless vacuum yet.

What a piece of JUNK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This thing is a piece of junk. I’ve had it for about 6-9 months. Clogs all the time. Battery life is short. Doesn’t pick even the smallest piece of leaf. The whole machine is cheap plastic. The parts stick and are so hard to pull apart to change heads that my wife can’t use it. The paddle to open and discharge waste is so hard to operate I have to use all my strength to get it open. And then it slams open, scattering all the dirt all over the floor. Guess what, the plastic tank now has cracks at the hing. When that goes, you can bet they will charge me an arm and leg to replace it. This was a major purchase for us... $600. I’ve been out of work for just a little short of the length of time we’ve had this piece of junk. I finally went out to the garage and got our old canister which still works like it did when we decided to replace it, and yet, it still does a much better job. Don’t buy this, don’t buy this, DON’T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP. I’m going to post this review in as many places as I can to warn others about it!

The V10 features up to 60 minutes of run time, depending on the mode, or combination of modes/tools, used. The machine features three modes: suction mode 1, suction mode 2 and boost mode. The machine may be set to boost mode. Boost mode is designed to be a temporary boost of power for particularly stubborn messes and provides a total of 7 minutes of run time. Suction mode 1 and suction mode 2 are ideal for the majority of cleaning tasks, providing up to 60 minutes depending on your usage.

Not reliable. Horrible customer service

Their customer service has been stringing me out for the past 4 months now. Try this, try that. Nothing works. They say they're going to send a replacement part. I've never gotten it (since early December). They finally agreed to send a replacement machine. Oops.... on backorder. Not sure when they're going to be able to replace it. And oh, by the way. Original warranty end date is still the same even though I haven't been able to use my machine for 4 months and counting. Next time I'll buy a Bissel!

Don't waste your money

I have purchased many Dyson products including the rather expensive blow dryer from Best Buy and loved the products. Not so with this vacuum. I purchased this from Best Buy. Unfortunately, they would not allow a return. I can not vacuum more than than my kitchen and one small hallway , then it quits because of the filter alarm. It takes 24 hours to wash the filter and let it dry. This is vacuuming no more than 200 sq ft. Furthermore, it willl not pick up items like leaves or other various small items. My Meile had enough vacuum to inhale full size socks and everything in its path. I know its a stick vac but seriously, it should suck up paper and small leaves tracked in on wood floors.And, it should last more than 5 minutes of vacuuming. DO NOT BUY, it will just frustrate you.

Along with three different suction modes, you will also have a suction control slider at the cleaner head for use with cleaning across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, we would not expect you to require the MAX suction setting, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job.
In suction setting 2, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 20 minutes of run time with a motorized cleaner head or up to 30 minutes when used in suction setting 1. Without the motorized cleaner head, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 60 minutes of run time on a full charge, making it our longest running cordless model to date. Battery is horrible!!!!!

I previously had a Dyson upright animal and loved it but was looking for more ease at getting hard to reach spaces and the stairs. I thought this was the answer.....nope! Charged the battery fully, put on my hardwood floor attachment, put it on full power mode as I have 2 dogs and a lot of dirt.....15 minutes later and battery died! Thought it must be a mistake! Charged battery for recommended time, battery fully charged, start vacuuming and 15 minutes later....dead! Unfortunately I have to pack it all back up and return it because 15 minutes is just ridiculous!
