The first was the V6 and it worked good for about 3 years. I got the V10 hoping for improved battery life and to be honest was very disappointed. At first it only had about 8 min run time on the lowest setting. No where near what Dyson claims it should be. I did call and Dyson and they sent out a replacement battery which was a major improvement but still not as long as what they claim it should be. I do love the way it cleans our floors. Just needs a better battery set up.

Our first is about 8 years old, and still runs. We just decided to upgrade to the newest version so we could put our old one in our travel trailer. It’s great a for jobs big or small, and takes care of pet hair wonderfully. I am able to get about 40 minute run time out of a full charge, which allows me to clean my who first floor (1600 sq ft). I love the new design of the canister, this allows for easier emptying.

WE use it everyday, as we have cats. The difference in suction power in this new model is substantial when compared to the V8. I would recommend you purchase the protection plan Best Buy offers. One issue I had with the V8 was the battery (not holding a charge) and it was an easy replacement with Best Buy's protection plan. I made sure to buy it for this upgrade as well.
