Customers often highlight the Cyclone V10 Animal Pro's impressive suction, ease of use, and long battery life as key strengths. Many appreciate its lightweight design and powerful performance, along with the multiple attachments included. However, some users mention the small dustbin requiring frequent emptying and the relatively high price point as drawbacks. A few also noted minor concerns about the wall mount and trigger mechanism.

Piece of junk
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it was new, it held a charge for about 40 min. After 8 months it only holds a charge for 15 minutes. My son in law has the V11 and the motor burned out after 6 months. Dyson took 4 months to replace their part. These products are nice but they are pieces of junk...

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've experienced run-time issues with your Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal Pro. Please keep in mind that your machine will offer three suction modes for use with cleaning around your home. Along with three different suction modes, you will also have a suction control slider at the cleaner head for use with cleaning across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, we would not expect you to require the MAX suction setting, as it is only intended for use with tough cleaning jobs and also provides the least amount of run time, while providing additional power for the job.
In suction setting 2, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 20 minutes of run time with a motorized cleaner head or up to 30 minutes when used in suction setting 1. Without the motorized cleaner head, Dyson Cyclone V10 will provide up to 60 minutes of run time on a full charge, making it our longest running cordless model to date. Lithium-Ion batteries are subject to degradation over time. This is completely normal and occurs with any device that uses this type of battery. Battery degradation is not a fault of the machine. It happens to all batteries in everyday items, such as mobile phones and laptops. Unfortunately, we are unable to advise how long each component will last in each individual's home. We'd value the opportunity to learn more about your experience with your machine to help ensure that you are able to enjoy your machine as intended. Please consider emailing us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,

Versatile "stick" vacuum with lots of power
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first "stick"-style vacuum that my wife and I have used - from the company that popularized the style. Dyson's V10 Animal Pro definitely does not lack for cleaning power, and has a nice, modular design for its attachments. It has a few quirks that take a bit to get used to, but nothing that should dissuade a prospective buyer. (In the interest of full disclosure, this vacuum was provided to me in exchange for my honest review of it.) The V10 Animal Pro is pretty simple to get going with. Just plug it in to charge with the included DC power adapter. (It comes from the factory mostly depleted, but this is how all responsible lithium-ion battery-powered products should be shipped.) The attachments are easy to, well, attach. This model comes with two heads for floor cleaning - a general purpose head for carpet, and a head with soft rollers that works well on hardwood floors. Construction is typical for a Dyson product, with nice materials and a finish that is pleasant to handle. The only part of the initial set-up that we found a bit lacking was that it only comes with an illustrated quick-start guide. While the pictures are generally clear, a few times we tried to figure out the significance of what an illustration was showing. Both my wife and I would have appreciated some descriptive text, if not an included manual. After the initial charge, this vacuum impressed up with how much it was able to pick up from the start. We did a pass on pretty much our whole house, including carpeted and hardwood floors, and it actually picked up quite a bit more dust and hair from our dog than we anticipated. My wife noticed in particular how convenient this vacuum was for cleaning carpeted stairs. On the other hand, Dyson's trigger-switch design requires the user to keep holding the switch down to run the vacuum, and this felt "unusual" to us compared to past vacuums. However, Dyson's rationale for this - to encourage battery life savings - is understandable, and it's something that we'll certainly adapt to. The dustbin on this model can hold quite a bit - we could do a pass on our whole house without needing to stop to empty it - and easy to empty as well. The lower lid simply flips open to empty it - no need to detach and reattach anything. (Some longer hair did stay behind and needed to be manually pulled out. The hair wasn't tangled or anything, so this wasn't difficult to do, but we didn't want to let it accumulate and become more difficult to remove.) And of course, once emptied, Dyson includes a convenient wall-mount that also holds the charger plug so that it can begin charging and be ready for its next use. Speaking of charging, I would normally like to see a replaceable battery pack on something like this - if for no other reason than reassurance that battery cells naturally degrading with use won't render this vacuum non-functional. On the other hand, plenty of premium products are including non use-replaceable batteries, and in practice I've had few issues with them having shortened lifespans. The nature of the integrated design may even allow the device to better condition the battery cells for longer life. For now, it's too early for me to say this is an issue with Dyson's design. I previously felt like a cordless stick vacuum was more of a secondary vacuum to use for special tasks that benefited from the mobility (like stairs). The V10 Animal Pro, however, could easily serve as our primary vacuum since it can handle all our floors and seems to be very thorough. However, if you are looking at purchasing a stick vacuum as a special-purpose tool, that might be one of the only reasons to consider a different model. The V10 is certainly not heavy, but is a bit heavier than Dyson's "lower-numbered" models. It also carries a price tag to match its all-around top performance, so a V8 or V7 may be a more pragmatic choice. In terms of performance as a primary vacuum that can do it all, the V10 Animal Pro can definitely fit that billing. Even though it is on upper end of Dyson's line-up, gaining both the cordless mobility and superior suction could mean this vacuum fills the need for multiple special purpose vacuums. So far, my wife and I are satisfied that it has met Dyson's performance claims, and don't see a significant reason to not recommend it as a primary vacuum.

Battery is ridiculous.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this yesterday, and waited 3.5 hours to be fully charge. When I turned on the vacuum on the maximum power I was able to use it ONLY FOR 6 MINUTES!!! paid almost $500 for a vaccum that made me laugh out loud. I contacted Dyson and they said its usually letting you use it for 5 minutes on the maximum power so if it last me 6 minutes it's more than the average, and if I'm changing the power to medium I can enjoy with 26 minutes and on the lowest it will be up to 60 minutes. It's like buying a Ferrari and you can only drive with one shift. I'm returning it, this is a joke!!

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear of the short run time you experienced with your Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal Pro. Actually, what you experienced is normal. Your machine has three suction modes, each with varying run time. Right out of the machine, your vacuum is going to be set at the most powerful setting. This not only provides you with a boost of suction, but does give the shortest run time. We have found that for most household vacuuming, the lower suction powers are sufficient for household debris. The highest setting can generally be reserved for more stubborn messes or larger debris.
While I understand you have already taken the time to reach out for support with the problem, and have decided to return your machine, we'd value the opportunity to learn more regarding your experience, as we're dedicated to customer satisfaction. Please consider emailing us directly at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.

Great idea but needs some tweeking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was excited to try out this new dys on vacuum. It is super lightweight and maneuvers easily. Fairly quiet compared to others. It comes with several attachments which are easily interchangeable. It has less suction power seemingly than a conventional vacuum even on the max setting. . The filters are washable which is a big plus. There are two big negatives to this vacuum. First the battery charge does not last very long. It will last less than 5 minutes on max and about 20 on the lowest setting. The other downside is it does not come with a carry case or bag for the attachments. It needs a caddy or box or something. I definitely see these getting lost if you have children in the home. Emptying the bin is super easy. Would be best suited for a small apartment. If you have a 3+ bedroom house you will not be able to do it all on one charge.

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for sharing your review. I am happy to hear that in your use thus far, you have been so pleased with how lightweight, quiet and easy to maneuver the Dyson Cyclone V10 vacuum is. We speak to our owners frequently and they tell us that cordless vacuums have changed the way they clean. We hear they clean more often, but in shorter bursts, spending less than 20 minutes per clean. The new Cyclone V10 vacuum offers our longest run time. It runs for up to 60 minutes on a full charge, or about 35 minutes when using a motorized floor tool. We would value the opportunity to learn more about your experience and assist with any questions you may have. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] and we will be happy to help.

Well featured Vacuum Hampered By Poor Performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dyson V10 Animal Pro Cord-free Vacuum is a versatile portable vacuum cleaner that works on multiple surfaces and is suitable for users with kids and/or pets. We’ll step thought the features and usage impressions and then provide some pros and cons for this device. Feature-wise the Dyson V10 Animal Pro Cord-free Vacuum is a pretty straight forward device – it’s a battery-operated vacuum cleaner. The fact that it is a Dyson vacuum cleaner is a bonus due to the feature-rich capabilities that come with this unit – most notably the multiple attachments and heads for multiple floor types and vacuuming use cases. The unit comes with 2 main heads – the Torque Driver Cleaner Head used for strong pickup needs on any floor type, and the Soft Roller Cleaner Head used for large debris and dust on hard surfaces and crevices. Additionally, the unit comes with a Combination tool – allowing one to easily switch surfaces with the same tool, a crevice tool, a soft dusting brush, and a mini-motorized tool useful for hair and ground-in dirt in tight spaces. An extension tube is also included to allow the unit to be used in an upright configuration, or in a handheld configuration. The main unit has the suction settings, the waste bin (0.2-gallon capacity), the main motor, the battery, and the Dyson cyclones. The unit is rated at up to 60 minutes of run time that depends solely on the combination of power and tools used. For suction level I the unit is rated at up to 60 minutes of run time. This “up to” rating drops to 35 minutes when using the Torque Driver Head or 40 minutes when using the soft roller cleaner head. The unit takes 3.5 hours to fully recharge. It does come with a docking station that can be used to mount the unit on the wall for charging while it is not in use. The unit weighs 5.9 lbs. Suction level 1 is for day-to-day cleaning for most use cases including heard floors and short pile carpets; level 2 is for added power for everyday cleaning of all floor types; suction level 3 is recommended by Dyson to be reserved for very tough cleaning jobs. The instructions with the device are primarily visual instructions which can sometimes need an additional review to make sure they are understood. Once an owner registers the device, they will get an offer for additional tools. Usage Impressions This vacuum cleaner is a well-designed and useful tool for one’s cleaning regimen. Since the unit is portable it has distinct uses cases where it has advantages. First among these is the portability of the unit which makes it ideal for a quick clean up use case. This portability is also very useful for vacuuming stairs as you don’t have to manhandle a full upright unit with a long power cord on the stairs which increases the safety of stair vacuuming and frankly also does a better job on the stairs because the tools fit better on the stairs. The unit’s high degree of portability is awesome when using the device for dusting duties as it is easier to reach the corners of the ceilings and walls with this unit than a typical upright unit. An extremely nice use case for this unit is for cleaning the car! The combined use of the Mini Motorized tool, the combination tool, and the crevice tool made quick work of cleaning out our SUV when testing this device. However, this cleaning also demonstrated the use of the Torque Driver Cleaner head and its impact on the battery life, especially at the level III Suction setting. The Up to 35 minutes is likely a bit of an overestimation but I am not sure I had a full 3.5 hours of charge time before this use. Summary Overall this unit has some very nice features. Personally, I find vacuuming stairs much safer using this vacuum than our regular upright vacuum cleaner. Power level one is suited for extremely light vacuuming use cases and in many cases on will have to use either level II or level III and consequently impact the battery life. It gets a 5 on features but a 3 on performance. At the $599.99 MSRP price point, I would find this a challenging device to recommend to most folks even though it is a good device with some very good use cases. Pros: Size, portability, Safety advantage for vacuuming stairs, additional tools when registering. Cons: Extremely low battery life on the max settings, performance, cost.

Powerhouse cordless vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned a number of Dyson vacuums but it has been a while since I felt the need to upgrade my cordless handheld one. My old cordless, the Dyson DC56 has lasted me many years and was just recently showing its age with poor battery life and suction. This new Dyson DC10 is the perfect replacement and is a leap ahead in quality, battery life and design than my old DC56. The vacuum came with 6 attachments as well as the extension pole such that it can be used as a handheld or like a regular upright vacuum. The hardwood floor soft attachment is a dream to use as I have hardwoods throughout my entire lower floor. The carpet attachment is very capable in cleaning up both pet hair and dirt without any issues. Notable that the battery life with the carpet attachment is less by about 15 minutes. The mini motorized head uses even more battery life but really is not being used in my household as the other two attachments mentioned are perfectly capable and easy to maneuver. The other three attachments are the smaller detailing ones for tight spaces and I use them frequently in my cars. Overall battery life is about 45-60 minutes which is more than adequate for me, living in a 3000 sq ft home. The unit charges back to full (from empty) in about 2.5 hours and the included wall mount to dock and charge is wonderful. Overall - Dyson has a winner with this product. Pricey? - yes, but I am a firm believer in Dyson. If it lasts as long as my DC56, I will be very happy indeed.

This is a no for me!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be honest, this vacuum is a waste of money, for $500.00 this vacuum is not meeting my expectations, the smallest piece of plastic will clog the vacuum and cause it to lose suction, popcorn will render this vacuum inoperable. When it comes to vacuuming carpet, yeah you are going to need the big vacuum cleaner. It is convenient for small jobs but if you are expecting anything else, lower your expectations.

More than a stick vacuum!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me preface this by saying this is my fourth Dyson. I've been a fan for years, and obviously feel they are a great value and worth the premium you pay for them. So I'm not going to get into price here- it's a great value. I had a V7 animal before this- and while I loved it for spot jobs, it didn't really have the juice or power to replace my upright. Having a cordless option, however, meant that it was used frequently in places where otherwise I would have had to pull out the upright, which is bulky and unwieldy, especially when having to haul it up or down stairs. It worked great for spills, stairs, furniture upholstery, and the occasional small room. But it didn't have the suction or battery life to be my main vacuum. Enter the V10. New design, now it has three switchable power/suction levels, which is super helpful for those heavy jobs in thick carpet where you need maximum suction, or the ability to turn down the power on hardwood where that level of suction isn't needed. I find I leave it on the middle setting most of the time. Battery life is much better. I can do an entire floor in my house (as much as I ever do at one time) without falling into the danger zone on my charge. With the included attachments (there are many), it does a great job on all my surfaces. I do like the new design of the bin, which makes the balance better in use and is also easier to empty, in my experience. The ability to use the cordless vacs as a handheld with attachments make using them on stairs and furniture a breeze, as well. So I'm now retiring my Dyson ball upright, and will be fully cordless going forward.
