It took me 3 days to do what usually takes less than 2 hours (6 rooms with wall-wall & 4 rooms area rugs.)

We hear they clean more often, but in shorter bursts, spending less than 20 minutes per clean. The new Cyclone V10 vacuum offers our longest run time. It runs for up to 60 minutes on a full charge, or about 35 minutes when using a motorized floor tool.

The new Cyclone V10 is our longest running and most powerful cord-free to date. It has three different modes that provide different levels of suction and run time. The lowest mode, which runs for up to 60 minutes, is recommended for hard floors. The mid-mode is great for cleaning carpets and will give you about 20 minutes of run time with a motorized floor tool. The max mode has the lowest run time and should only be used for heavy duty jobs and removing dirt hidden deep in the carpet.

Powerful, versatile but a hard push on carpet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dyson claims the new v10 is a full blown replacement for any corded vacuum and on the power front, at least, it does not disappoint. This new version of the company's vac stick, clad in Dyson's trademark hot rod colors, does seem to have the power to match its corded relatives. But that comes at a price. Because it is a stick, it takes a bit more muscle to push this thing across carpet. The power head is not suspended above the carpet, as is the case with bigger corded vacs. It just rests on top of it. So there is a lot a drag. Even moreso if you opt for the most power (there are three settings). The good news is it's a much more agreeable machine on hard floors. Tiny wheels on the front of the powerhead and rollers in the back mean it glides effortlessly across tile, wood or similar surfaces regardless of power setting. As with most vac sticks, the Dyson V10 also converts to hand vac, albeit a somewhat unwieldy one, by removing the power head tube and opting for one of the two included attachments. The main motor is a bit too large and heavy for doing too much in hand held mode. Not good in tight spaces. Still, this new version of Dyson's stick is smaller than the last one, and more powerful. As with all Dyson products, this one is well built and quite good looking. And pretty quiet for such a powerful machine. It arrives broken down but snaps together in a flash. Big release buttons make it easy to switch back and forth between floor vac and hand vac. and to empty it. I am not a big fan, however, of the way you empty the dirt bin. Instead of just a release for the door, the entire dirt chamber must be pushed down the tube that holds it before the door pops open. A bit cumbersome. Another oddity is the trigger on/off mechanism, which must be held down to keep the vac running. That's a bit of pain. It also does not like to be started and stopped and restarted in short order. The motor has to go through some sort of reset when turned off so you sometimes have wait a few seconds before it will run again. Annoying. The biggest advantage of the V10 is that it is a stick. No cords to wind and unwind or get tangled around furniture. Or to limit your reach. That makes the whole vac job a lot easier. That means you have to keep charged but that's a bit process is a bit faster with this model. A full charge takes about three hours (5 before) which provides up to 60 minutes of run time, less when using higher power settings. Lights show the charging state and progress. The V10 comes with a fancy wall hanger that integrates with the charger, a nice touch. Bottom line. The V10 is a powerful capable vac stick that can tackle any job in the house. But it's a far better choice for hard floors than carpets because of the extra work required there.

After cleaning this, it stopped working. 1st time took 3 months and it failed. This time it took less than 3 months. Not going for a third try. I'll try another cordless or wired vacuum instead. I would not recommend despite it's easy to use.

It is very sensitive and does not hold up to frequent or even occasional use. I’m on my second replacement which is having issues in less than 30 days, same as the first one. Not sure if it’s just this model or entire series. After a few uses, it doesn’t hold a charge. Would not recommend this model.

It's rather unusual to hear that in your use, you've found the machine to not be durable. Dyson cord-free machines are made from polycarbonate ABS - the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. They are tough, so we subject them to hours of testing, including drop and impact tests. Very stupid system of garbage collection, it is difficult to remove it with difficulty. Charging in an uncomfortable place. I do not advise you to pay more, but just buy an old model. Frustrated

Great Cordless, multi functional vacuum cleaner

I got about an hour cleaning time from the car. I used it in my house and car and it was much easier to use than a traditional vacuum cleaner. It worked great on my carpeted stairs, carpeted rooms, the crevice cleaner worked awesome. Changing between the different modes was a breeze.

The attachments can be changed quickly and easily. It comes with a wall mount that will allow you to mount the vacuum on a wall. Routing the chord and plug through the wall mount will allow you to drop the vacuum on the wall mount dock, and begin quickly charging. Despite the vacuum being nearly perfect, there are a few gripes I have. It makes a weird noise whenever you release the trigger button to stop the vacuum. Over time I will probably get used to it. I also wish the trigger button had a lock button. I have to press the trigger button in order for the vacuum to operate. If I'm vacuuming for an extended period of time, my finger becomes fatigued. An option to allow continuous operation without having to press the trigger the entire time would be great. I've been using the vacuum to detail the inside of my car. Placing the cleaning head on the vacuum allows me to vacuum the car mats. I'm able to quickly switch to the crevice tool to get those hard to reach places. It makes cleaning the inside of my car a breeze over my corded vacuum. Overall I'm truly enjoying this vacuum.

I've been using the last 4 days and I must say that it is better than I expected. Assembling it was pretty much self-explanatory, thought, the owner's manual shows you how to put it together. I basically was 2 snaps and it was ready to go. I've used other stick vacuums in the past but Dyson is way better. I've never used any vacuum that comes close to the suction power as a Dyson. It also came with 2 separate attachments, which to be honest I'm glad its only 2 attachments, as half of the attachments tend to never get used. I would completely recommend this to anyone looking for a new stick vacuum with great suction power.

The reason 11 came out so quick is bc this one sucks. I sent it in for repair and asked if the one they send back has trouble will I be able to call them back. I was told no bc warranty ran out with the first time I purchased on. So so. Almost $1000 is vacuums that still require me to sweet often.
