It's amazing to see how much dirt and pet dander it pulls out of the carpet compared to other machines.

As others have written, this vacuum has great suction. I bought this to replace an aging Kirby that cleans up after 4 dogs and 2 cats. I ran the unit for the first time after letting the carpets "go" for 5 days and as expected, I pulled up a lot of dirt and fur. I didn't pull up the pounds of fur some people mentioned before but I did pull up quite a bit. I'm planning to do a back to back test between the Kirby and the Dyson in one of the rooms just to see if or how much better the Dyson really is. Pros: Great suction, easy to operate, easy to empty, great loooong cord Cons: The extension tube is stiff to the point that it is almost unusable. Tried vacuuming the bed and that was more work than it was worth. Not all tools will store on the unit. Not heavy when using the unit but I can imagine I'm going to hear complaints when it has to be carried upstairs. Overall a good unit and so far works very well. Worth the sale price but I'm not so sure about MSRP.

This vacuum was recommended by a friend and after my purchase, I will never own another brand.
