Bought this machine on an online only presidents day sale - cheapest price I have seen on a Dyson since they came out!! Wish they were more affordable, but worth every penny with the factory warranty! Excellent power and easy to use and great accesories!

This vacuum works great. I vacuumed using my old Hoover vacuum and then right over it with the new Dyson. I was shocked at how much additional stuff I got up from the carpets. Continued to vacuum up additional deep down grit for the next four times I went over the floors. The carpets haven't looke this good in years. Issues with the machine are it is hard to use in tight places and the flexible tube for use with the attachments is short and stiff. Would be nice if they sold a long extension tube as an accessory.

I bought this for my daughter. She said that she had vacuumed with her old vacuum and then her new dyson came. She vacuumed and could not believe the performance of this machine. She said it was amazing and would never use another vacuum. Since then she has had it for a few months and has not changed her mind. If you want a vacuum that works and have pets do not hesitate to buy this vacuum.

I'm new to the Dyson family, was a little skeptical about wanting to spend a little more money for a Dyson, i did much research before buying and after that made the purchase. Step up took about 10 minutes and i decided to do my own test, i have a hoover that is about 6 years old. did half a room with it and then the Dyson. the Hoover pick up a good amount of dirt and pet hair, the Dyson canister was almost full, so i vacumed over the hoover area and it pick up another half canister, so with my own test i was amazed with how much dirt and hair my new Dyson pickup. So i have to say that if your on the fence about wanted to spend a little more money, look no further, i love this Dyson Vacuum!

Wow! This thing sucks up the dirt your ancestors left behind! Admittedly I've been using an old Bissell a friend of mine left behind when he moved back to CA after our canister Kenmore bit the dust. So, this is the latest and greatest from Dyson and it seems well up to the task. I originally went in to buy the D25 Animal but I had read about the D28 on Dyson's web site. I figured if the D28 is an improvement on the stellar reviews the D25 got it I couldn't go wrong. This is a different style as it's not based on the "ball" for the wheels. We have a pug and the thing is a shedding machine despite being a short haired dog. Apparently pugs shed 2X as much as a regular dog. So, an investment in a vacuum that is designed to handle dog hair was well overdue. We have very DEEP pile carpets in our living room and the D28 was VERY hard to push through them. I could feel it in my stomach muscles after I finished the 2.5 canisters worth of dog hair and dirt it pulled out of the carpet! After that I went upstairs to relatively new medium pile carpet and the D28 was MUCH easier to push and despite me vacuuming 3 days ago, I filled another canister with just our bedroom! It did look like a lot of actual carpet fibers as the rug is only a few months old. Still, I was impressed. Apparently my house hadn't ever experience a "real" vacuum before and now it has. I'd imagine the D25 would do the trick but for $50 more the D28 represents the latest and greatest from Dyson. It also seemed a bit bulkier which I equate to POWER to suck the life out of my carpets! With our first baby on the way this is EXACTLY what we needed to keep our carpets clean when the baby starts crawling all over the house! Of course there were other part vacuums to choose from at much lower price points, but I don't regret the decision. The kicker was the 5yr parts and labor warranty as opposed to the 1yr from the other models I was looking at. Thumbs up!

All other vacuum cleaners should be ashamed to be on the market. This is by far the most effecient vacuum I have ever owned. I could not believe the amount of pet dander it picked up. It looks bulky but I found it very easy to use and light weight. It was easy to put together and was ready in a jiffy. Kudos to Dyson, Have a wonderful holiday Mr. Dyson. I will recommend this product to everyone I know.

This vacuum has an incredible amount of suction. It pulled much more dirt out of our carpet than our previous vacuum. It does a great job on all floor surfaces. My only complaint is that it is expensive.

Although this vacuum is expensive, my husband and I weighed out the price it would be to buy a new "regular" vacuum every year (since ours died after just a year) and this made the price seem comparable. Having a 5 yr warranty is a great thing! We bought one of these and it wouldn't recline back after the first time, but BB was great and we exchanged it with no problem. This vacuum sucks up sooo much dirt. Even though you thought your carpet was clean, this will prove otherwise. The dirt canister empties so nicely, and you don't have to reach your hand in at all to pull out clumps of animal hair or anything - everything just falls out like it should. I love my dyson and hope that it last 5+ years!!!

We have been looking at Dyson's for a couple of years, but the price has always kept us away. We saw that the DC28 was on sale for $299 when we were in the store, and later in the week I saw they were having a 'recycle your old vacuum' and save 20% on a new dyson. At that point it was a no-brainer. Best part was that following Sunday they dropped the price $20! So we only spent $222. And the fact we got almost $60 for our 12 year old vacuum we came out on top. Out of the box it was easy to assemble, and after the first time using it we were embarressed with how horrible our old vacuum did the job....we have a dog and a cat, the amount of pet hair that our dyson picked up was astonishing. I have spoken to a few friends that have had their dyson's for almost 8+ years and they are working fine! Adding the black tie for 4 years on this is a must to make sure protect our investment. If you are looking for your first dyson, I would recommend this one!

Just purchased the New Dyson DC28 to sweep up Pet Hair from our Golden Retriever and it does just that and more. I filled the tank after having swept our carpet earlier in the morning with our old Hoover Upright Vac. It comes with 4 nice tools and a wand. The motorized head ensures good suction!

I replaced a 5 year old Animal with this and couldn't be happier. Although I vacuumed the day before I received this with my old Dyson, I vacuumed the day it arrived with the new one and the amount of dirt it sucked up with incredible. It has made my neutral carpet look new again - no small feat with 5 cats and 2 large dogs. This is the ONLY brand I will choose.

The Dyson vacuum is what Beverly Cleaver dreams of! This thing makes cleaning a snap! My husband and I both actually enjoy using it so our home has never been cleaner. We've fought over who gets to use it. All the attachments work excellently with amazing suction power. It pulls deep down dirt so you know your carpets are truly clean. The hard floor attachment is great on vinyl floors too. No filters to replace, bags to buy, and extremely easy mess free clean-up.

No one likes to vacuum! The DC28 makes it almost a joy, stuff lost in the carpet are easily found with this machine. I use the powder you sprinkle on the carpet before you vacuum, i don't even think my old vacuum was picking any of it up! My first cleaning with the DC28 had so much powder in the bottom of the canister, i think my old vacuum was just rubbing it into the carpet!

This has to be the BEST thing i've ever gotten for the house! Even after hearing nothing but great things from my Mom and Sister(Who both have Dyson vacs) i still was somewhat leery about switching brands (Kenmore) and styles (canister to a upright) . Even though i knew i would probably like the new Dyson, i was amazed as to how much happier i was since I got one! Also amazed as to why i waited so long to get one. I joke and tell any/everyone that i am picking up stuff from my carpets circa 1983 ! Nothing but good things to say about it. I am more than pleased! AAAA++++

After trying many other brands and never finding a vacuum that worked well, I finally bought this Dyson. After 3 months use, it is the best vacuum I've found that isn't a built-in. Very effective for pet hair, and hasn't clogged yet. I bought one for myself, and liked it so much that I got one for my daughter as well. Easy to empty with no mess. It's rather expensive, but watch for the sales. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

I purchased this as the deal of the day on Best Buy.com for $299. That is an awesome deal. I also own the Dyson Animal DC07. It is at least 7 years old. I have dropped it down the stairs several times. Tipped it over in the driveway while vacuuming my car. It is still going. I also own a collie. It is the best vacuum ever for pets. I decided to get the DC28 because of the price. The cord is at least 2 1/2 feet shorter. It seems as heavy or maybe slightly heavier. I am not sure it will survive as long as my first but we will see. I have owned Hoovers, Kenmore, and Eurekas...Dyson is the best vacuum I have ever owned.

I have been looking around, it was definately time to purchase another one, I decided to look at the Dyson hoping it would last me a while. It cleaned my carpets and it picked up stuff that my other Bissel had been missing for who knows how long?? I bought this model since it was the newest and it made my carpet feel alive and fluffy again. I cannot find anything bad about it. Best Buy was the only place that had them on sale ( they had to do price match from there website) but I saved $30. Definately worth the price!

I have two long haired Australian Shepard's, this is the 1st vacuum that picks up their hair on the 1st pass. It is awesome to find a vacuum that actually picks up all their hair. I can really see the difference. Highly recommended to animal owners. It was a bit pricey, as long as this thing last 5 or more years, I will be 100% satisfied. My only concern is the plastic parts, yet all stuff is plastic now.

I have used Dyson products for over 8 years. Have always loved their quality and performance. Until we bought this DC 28. We read many reviews, but I didn't seem to notice anyone mentioning how hard it is to push the machine itself. We have berber carpet in a few of our rooms, and even with the selection on high carpet, it is still difficult to push. When put on the bare floor option, it scratched my floor in a few different places. The suction may be great, but the hassle of maneuvering and the damage to my floors will have me returning this vacuum. It also lifts all area rugs making that a hassle as well. I will definitely get another Dyson - just not this one.

Great vacuum alll around! I tested it against a kirby that was only about 2 years old, and it totally dominated it in every way. It does get a little hard to push at times, but thats only because of how hard its pushing itself into the carpet to ensure that its clean. Its kinda grouse how much it picks up, when I moved into my new place the carpets were professionally done and yet I still filled the canister in every room! Great choice for anyone who is thinking about buying a new vacuum!!
