Picks up some dirt, but underpowered, IMHO. Also, the battery life is very short.

It's getting hot too soon and shut down itself after only 15 min usage.

First, let me start off by saying, I was a bit of a skeptic on Dyson vacuums. I always thought they were too expensive. (but I had never actually tried one). They had a working demo unit at my local Costco and the first time I tried it I was SUPER impressed. This is nothing like any other vacuum on the market. The quality of the materials is top notch, no loss of suction and its REALLY QUIET. I mean REALLY quiet compared to our previous Hoover. You can just tell by the sound of the motor that this thing is QUALITY, the ergonomics are great and you can tell there was a lot of thought and engineering put into this unit. I love that its cordless which makes it super convenient and its light so my wife can carry it up the stairs no problem. Its actually fun to use if you can believe that? We have hard laminate floors throughout the entire house and this thing picks up dust, dirt, hair, etc like a champ. We have 2 cats and we have a LOT of hair on the floor. Vacuuming under the couch and small spaces it really easy. The unit is surprisingly powerful for such a small package, it works well on our laminate but I would imagine it not being as effective on thick carpet like we had in our previous home. If you have carpet I would suggest getting one of the full size Dyson balls.

Not happy with this vaccum. After a few months of working well, it just started not sucking up much dust. I cleaned everything even removed all the hair from the suction area.

I bought the DC44 Animal about 1.5 years ago. Love this vacuum. No cords and I can clean up the whole condo (1000 sq ft) on one charge. I have all hard floors with the exception of carpeting in the bedroom and an area rug in the living room. I vacuum once weekly and use regular power on the hard floor/high power on carpet/rug - all with beater. The charge still lasts long enough to do my whole place with one charge (though i do make sure to run it long enough each time to fully drain the battery). I would by this, my first Dyson, again without hesitation.

Not a good price, too much money for what it does, not enough suction power.

Got a great deal on this Dyson handheld vacuum. Very handy and convenient for quick clean ups. Does run out of power in 20 minutes. Wish tools were interchangeable with larger Dyson canister vacuum. Still love it!

This is my second Dyson. Can't say enough about them. I bought this one to carry upstairs and clean the hardwood bedroom floors and bath room tile before mopping them. We have 2 Boston terriers. Use a Dyson to see how "clean" your floors really are. I was amazed at how much hair and debris is on the floor. The suction power of this little portable cleans steps and fluffs them better than my old heavy dirt devil. Yes they cost a little more, but they last and the suction remains strong unlike others I have purchased. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants clean floors. :)

It is our first dyson product and it is amazing. Its light weight makes it extremely useful to do work on both first and second floor.

I have hardwood and stone floors with small scatter rugs. I was amazed at how much dust this vacuum sucked from my floors. I always thought my floors were clean until I bought this product. It even sucks the Florida sand from the scatter rugs! Love this product!!

We have a couple of dyson vacuums and they are both great. This unit is lightweight and can be used just about anywhere. Does a great job.

We purchased the Dyson DC44 when it went on sale for Black Friday this year. Although it's not Dyson's most premier model, we figured we would give it a try. With white tile floors, and two cats to keep us busy cleaning throughout the week, the Dyson does a great job at grabbing everything in a single pass. The run time is about 20-25 minutes, which is just long enough to cover our condo. We also use on our area rugs, and it works far better than our older Oreck. Great vacuum, and we are now Dyson converts from here on out.
