This Dyson design solved the problem! Lightweight and finds more dirt than our past vacuum and yet the vacuum is small. This solved my spouse's back aches caused by our canister vacuum's weight. I wish I could buy another one for my second home at he same Black Friday doorbuster deal!

However the boost mode does strain the battery and I have to constantly charge the vacuum. Also the disposal can is extremely small. If you shed hair it gets caught inside and you have to stick your hand in the disposal to get it out.

I also own Dyson V7 and V8 which have larger capacity and are easier to empty (no need to disassemble the unit). Note also… The batteries are very sensitive to cold. Do not store in a cold location (e.g. garage).

The suction is shockingly well and the battery life is insane - I have never ran it below 69% in a 2000 square foot home over the course of a year.
