On boost its only for 30 mins. I returned mine. It’s too expensive for not a whole lot of pay off

Hafeez, the manager of Best Buy on Elston in Chicago was practically giddy to report that unless i bought the protection plan on a $1,000 vacuum my only recourse is to continue to search for a human at Dyson to help me. Big box stores serve little value anymore other than padding profits through extended warrenties. My dad always said, if a company makes a good product (as Dyson claims they do) an extended warrenty is a waste of money. I’ve always supported big box stores because I assumed they supported the community and their employees. They just reduce employees to delivering bad news on bad policies. So sad.

It usually only lasts 30 min on carpet on auto setting. I also dont like the soft roller for hard wood floors. The light on the soft roller is awesome but the soft roller doesn't really suck up dirt.

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been a loyal Dyson customer since the DC01 and still have a DC04 that works perfectly. Unfortunately, Dyson’s quality has really declined over the years. Their vacuums used to be solid and reliable. Now, they feel brittle, break easily, and clog constantly. The build quality has clearly gone downhill. I really want to like the Gen5detect Cordless Vacuum. The design is smart, the LCD screen is a nice touch, battery life is good, and the optic cleaner head is impressive. But it just doesn’t hold up. Even a small piece of paper will clog it. The wheels on the vacuum head are flimsy and held on with a tiny axle. Ours kept snapping off after just a few uses. In the end we just drag it across the floor without the wheels! We are not using it aggressively. We’ve had to return the vacuum twice. On the third issue, Dyson refused to cover it, even though they admitted the problems were product faults. I escalated the issue to corporate, and they sent us replacement heads, which also broke. After more problems, I gave up. It’s just not worth the hassle. Dyson can and should do better. At $949 plus tax, this level of quality is unacceptable.

Did quite a bit of research and even went to store to test drive this and the newest model. Hands down, the best vacuum we've owned. This has better suction and easier to maintain that our second gen animal corded vacuum. Easily mounted to wall, attachments are great. This is the vaccum you've been ssearching for.
