Incredible technology to improve health and mentality. The information on the display about particles gives insight and inspiration on cleaning. Being a total tech member and saving on the cost makes the purchase even more worth while. This kind of technology is really an investment into one’s quality of life. I can’t wait for Dyson’s robot vacuum to come out and I hope to see it also available at Best Buy.

Unfortunately had to return - loud grinding noise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Today I purchased the gen5outsize. Right off the bat it made a really loud, grinding type noise. I've had multiple Dyson's through the years and have never heard this kind of noise before. I figured I had a defective model so I went back to Best Buy and exchanged it. After returning home the replacement vacuum made the exact same noise as well. I did some research online because I thought it was odd that both of the vacuums had the same issue. Turns out the hair removal vanes, which are plastic, push into the brush roll during forward passes. Sadly, I had to return the second one and came home empty handed. I noticed most of the new models have the hair removal vanes so I'm afraid to purchase another Dyson. I don't know if I'm just unlucky purchasing two vacuums having the same issue or if it's a design flaw. Had the gen5outsize not had the hair removal vanes I definitely would've kept it. I actually thought about trying to remove them myself but decided against it because had something gone wrong I wouldn't have been able to return it. Extremely disappointed in this model.

Great motor, great support, poor quality parts

The wheel broke on the second use for the carpet attachment. Dyson replaced this so all is good. Great experience overall, giving 4/5 because of the brittle plastic.

What a Shame

For the very large price tag, we expected it to be the end-all-be-all..but, that it is not. The motor is SO loud, whether on carpet or hard wood, and the light on the Fiber Optic Wand doesn’t work properly! I read all of the “try this if”..or, “try that if” to see what might be going on, but, as the vacuum is brand new..I really couldn’t see why there were issues from the beginning! After reading a ton of reviews, turns out several people have had the same or similar experiences. What a shame:(

It was a pricy investment, but worth every cent. Use it everyday- the green light dust detector light allows me to really "see" all the hairs on the floor. We have a corgi/lab mix dog that sheds constantly, and i have long thick hair- this Dyson Gen5 grabs it all, without getting tangled. A must have at a household with pets or with humans with long hair

Hard to push

It's not user friendly especially when it comes to pushing it it's not easily pushable.

It is light even though it is rather large. Works like a good vacuum, even though it is battery operated. The boost seeting is nice, but drains the battery in 5 minutes.
