What hurts is paying 80 bucks for the thing. That's painful every 6 months so factor that in if you're considering a Dyson fan.

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We do suggest using only genuine Dyson parts in your machine. Having said that, if you choose to purchase your filter directly from the Dyson website, it will come with a free 1-year guarantee, should any issues ever arise.

Posted .Hi, this is Summer with Dyson. Thanks for your feedback. For the replacement filters, they will need to be replaced once a year if the machine is ran for 12 hours a day. If you run it for 24 hours a day, it is about every 6 months. There is also an auto mode that you can set it on when you need to and it will be like a stand by mode and clean the air as needed to help the filter life as well.
