Was shipped without the remote and Best Buy wont do anything about it. Deferred me to Dyson for warranty. It took so long for them to get back to me just to tell me the remote is out of stock. Now, because it has been 17 days instead of 15 days, Best Buy qont replace it. I was transferred to 6 people and they were all worthless. Now i have this $530 purifier that I cant use. Ill never shop here again.

This is the worst purchase I have ever made from Best Buy. The fan was defective and Dyson has you work with their customer service to replace it. They received the replacement 4 weeks ago today saying I’d receive the replacement within 5-10 business days. I moved in the meantime (I explained this to three different customer service reps), but each rep confirmed it would be sent to the new address. It was delivered today, not to my new address. They now say 10 days for them to conduct an investigation. The fans are notoriously defective, so you’ll likely have a similar experience. DO NOT BUY DYSON.

Pure Hot and Cool Technology with Clean Air

The Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10 is a stunning addition to any room (even if color clashing). This is not my first Dyson product, having a vacuum and hairdryer, and I have always had interest in their fan technology since release. The Purifier Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10 makes the wait well worth it. Being equipped as a year-round purifier with the ability to both heat or cool a room is next level. Unboxing the HP10 was quick. The product is already in one piece with the 2-180 degree filters attached. There is a simplistic sticker showing product start (plug in and hit power) and from there you are able to simply control the fan with the included remote. The remote is a nice size, small and compact but not small enough it is easily lost. Power may be togged from here, hot versus cold setting (or auto), fan speed and display may be adjusted. Purifier - This purifier is designed for a room size of 872 square feet. Using a HEPA filter, purification is efficient and reliable. This device does not filter formaldehyde (but I can’t imagine why the general public would be concerned of this). There is a continuous sensor that measures air quality, with adjustment/circulation based on quality. The air quality is displayed on the LCD screen clearly, with a toggle to make this a 24-hr graph or based on particle. There is also a filter life screen that will alert when time to replace filter (reportedly, have not seen for myself the alert). The initial testing of this product was in a room with a purifier already on and the air quality matched between devices. The purifier noted a change after cooking and adjusted as indicated with improvement of quality back to baseline. Overall, a more than adequate purifier device with the Dyson touch. Hot+Cool - The heating and cooling aspect of this devices makes it for me. Of course, a purifier is nice but an elite bladeless fan/heater? Remarkable. The device will stand still or rotate. The rotate function is either 45, 90, 180, or 350 degrees. This is the first fan/heat device I have ever seen rotate over 270 degrees. But this device just spins almost all the way around, making a center of the room placement insanely efficient. The fan has 10-speed adjustments with 1 being very mild and present while 10 is markedly noticeable, reminiscent of an island breeze from 5-7 feet away. The cool setting does a solid job at cooling through the speed of the fan. The heat setting is impressive, heating the room over my air-conditioner (which I know was a silly test, but I wanted to know). It does not feel super warm coming from the device, but it is consistent and effective. Being able to toggle between these is the most impressive aspect for myself, just solidifying the efficiency of being a dual device. All in all, this device is an investment in sleek purifying heating and cooling technology. A splendid Dyson.

Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10 The Dyson filter/fan/heater is made in the same form as the older style Dyson fans. The oval shape is used as an airfoil to multiply the air it moves. The output is flat on the front face. It can oscillate to none, 45, 90, 180 and 350, almost a complete circle. While it’s in night mode the display dims and will go completely off. In auto mode it is almost completely silent. In the manual it states a cooling mode. This unit does not have a cooling unit. Read carefully and you’ll find they do state the cooling mode is just a fan. It has a heating mode and it works great. Most space heaters hardly move any air at all and take forever to heat a small room. This unit adds a full size space heater within the unit so it will heat a room fast, and to a temperature you pick, and not just right in front of the heater. With the fan on and oscillating it brought the room up to the set temperature in just a few minutes. This is going to be very nice in the winter. The remote attaches magnetically to the top of the unit, don’t lose it. It has a sleep timer that is useful at night to clean the air in the bedroom. It has a HEPA/Carbon filter. For the price, if it were just a fan, or filter, or heater, it would be out of range, even for Dyson, but this unit has all of that. One last thing, it can tilt forward or back 10 degrees. So it can push air around in larger rooms. The only thing really missing from this unit is the APP functionality. They removed the wireless operation and lowered the price because of it. It operates the way a normal fan/heater/filter does, using a remote. They also removed the air reverse function from the fan, but that is not a big deal at all. I have 2 other Dyson units that both have the air reversal function, and I can honestly say I have never used it. There is an information button on the remote that shows you air quality, temperature, how to replace the filters, and filter life remaining. It remembers the last settings from when it was on last. At night it’s a simple press of the power button and then sleep mode on the remote, everything is set.

Offset A/C or Furnace in shoulder seasons

Usually I am not a big fan of multiple devices in one machine. Usually 1 of the 3 gives out and makes the whole thing useless. Dyson just makes such clean devices and the extended 2 year warranty puts my mind a little more at ease. Its still early trying this new Gen 1 Hot + Cold air purifier. So far it seems like a keeper. Recently temps went back up for a bit of Indian Summer this fall here in Ohio. We did have two 40 degree days to try the heater and its a very pleasant warmth coming out the fan vent. The heat is not overly hot to worry too much about things close by being in danger (do be aware though). Plenty warm to quickly take the chill out of the air. It might not be enough if you have high vaulted ceilings or larger rooms without continuous running. It does tip back on its stand so you can angle air up to get a little help from a ceiling fan to distribute that heat even quicker. The remote and digital display are extremely easy to see, understand and set. Ten fan speeds to get the amount of air or quite fan breeze for any situation. Big plus is the varied option to oscillate nearly (45/90/180/350 degree) full circle is very nice if you have the ability to place near the center of a room. I have yet to see it try to clean the air in our house as hard as another air cleaner we have. But, we did place this air purifier farther from the kitchen that is a bigger source for pollutants in our house. I think this will be great to offset shoulder seasons before running A/C or Furnace for those in parts of the country that have those days where you just need a bit of cooling or heating to take the edge off. Plus just letting it run on auto (usually low fan and very quiet) to keep smells and air quality at its peak of cleanliness is a no brainer we could all use. It will quickly offset its higher price tag everyday you don't need to run A/C or a furnace. One last note. The air filter looks to rated for about a year. This will depend on your house/air quality. Just use your vacuum to clean the filter pleats occasionally to help extend the filter life before replacement becomes necessary.

I picked up this Dyson air purifier / heater / fan to replace all of the aforementioned devices in my living room. Each season, I would drag up the appropriate device from my basement and run it until it was time for the next device. In the spring, I would drag up my air purifier to help with my allergies. In the summer, the fan would come out to keep me cool. In winter, I would bring out a small space heater to keep things nice and cozy. I was delighted to find this Dyson as it's one, single device that could accomplish all three uses. I finally have a device that can live in my living room year round, and I don't have to be hauling things to and from the basement each season. Initially setting up the Dyson didn't go quite as smoothly as I'd hoped. Upon unboxing it and plugging it in, the Dyson made an awful noise and then went dead with an exclamation point displayed on its screen. I double checked to make sure that all of the tape and other packaging had been removed, unplugged it, plugged it back in, and tried again. No luck. I continued to get an exclamation point. I then removed the filters, reinstalled them, and manually swiveled the base back and forth a little until I heard a soft "click." I'm not entirely sure how or why, but this seems to have fixed my issue. The fan began to work as intended . . . for thirty minutes. Then my surge protector died. Apparently, as a rule, you really aren't supposed to plug space heaters into surge protectors. Space heaters tend to pull more power than most surge protectors can support, and this can cause problems. This hadn't been an issue with the tiny, little space heater that this replaced; but I apparently had just been lucky up until this point. This is what I get for not reading the instructions all the way through. I then tried plugging the Dyson directly into the wall, but I apparently had too much going on with that particular circuit (I tripped my breaker after just a few minutes of use). After reconfiguring my living room a little, and switching outlets to one on a different circuit, the Dyson is now running beautifully. I have it set to a nice, reasonable temperature, and it's doing an admirable job of keeping the room warm and circulating air. The Dyson comes with a cute, little remote; and its controls are very intuitive and user friendly. It can oscillate back and forth to help move air across a larger area, you can adjust the temperate across an impressive range of temps, and it has a variety of different fan speeds to choose from. I wish that I'd known that it drew more power than the devices that it was replacing prior to getting it, but overall I'm very happy with this device. It does an admirable job of keeping me comfortable, and I look forward to using it year-round.

My apartment doesn't have central heat, only baseboard heating or a fireplace. I love a good fire, but for those days where it isn't quite cold enough to need to start one, but still chilly where I want some warmth, this Dyson is a great choice. This is the lowest model in the heating & cooling range, so it's lacking some features compared to the other one. Most notably WiFi, and the ability to connect to the Dyson app. I have other Dyson fans that do connect so I'm familiar with both sides of this. It isn't really necessary to get that one just for the app with one exception. The app lets you drag on a 350* circle where you want the fan to point, and it will slowly rotate to that spot. Without the app, you have to either manually turn it, or turn on the oscillation and then wait for it to land where you want and turn off the oscillation. Not a big deal if I'm honest, but it is 10x easier to use the app for that, though the physical remote works just fine. The display shows good info, though I wish when the PPM display would "alert" due to cooking or a candle, etc. that it would go back to the temp display. I much prefer to have that showing than the air contaminates, it's a constant back and forth, but this isn't unique to this model, they all do it. I'm surprised to see that this one doesn't measure humidity, must be part of the cost cutting. Like any other Dyson fan, they're silent up until you hit 7/10 on the speed, then they sound like any other fan, I normally keep it lower just to keep the noise down. The heating element works great, it can warm up my 400 sq ft living room in about 20 minutes to a comfortable no longer chilly level. I'm very happy with this, I know it will help keep me warm during the upcoming winter when I'm not in the mood for starting a fire.
