Q: Does this machine have a filter that needs to be cleaned??
A: Hi there, this is Jenifer with Dyson. The Gen1 HP10 filter is designed to be replaced every 12 months. That's because over time, filters can get clogged with pollutants, and even let unpleasant odors back into the room. The machine will alert you when it’s time to change filters. A filter life reading can be found on the LCD screen. The catalytic filter never needs replacing. Please feel free to email us at [email protected] with any other questions. Best wishes, Jenifer Dyson Expert
Q: Does this clean the air and fur floating in the air
A: Yes. It filters down to .03 microns. Cat fur is probably about 30. microns at the smallest. (guessing) A virus is about 0.1 micron in size, a bacterium is about 1.0 micron in size, and N95 masks (excluding their electrostatic effect) filter down to about 5 microns. Cloth masks are less efficient.
Q: Does this purifier also work for cigarette smoke? Thank You
A: Yes it will.
Q: Does this heater have a safety feature to shut off if it gets knocked over or over heats?
A: Yes, the Dyson Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10 is designed with built-in safety features for peace of mind. It includes an automatic shutoff if the unit is accidentally knocked over, as well as overheat protection that turns the heater off if internal temperatures get too high.
