The only glitch was wasting time with the Dyson App because it thought my model was WIFI enabled and kept failing to connect. Could not get past that to complete registration and had to use the chat function to do that. Chat was quick, though the agent was not too interested in following up on the fact that the Dyson IPhone app had erroneous info on on the WiFi capability of the otherwise excellent product. I love the magnetic remote!

However, its durability leaves much to be desired. don't expect to take it from room to room. After just a year of taking it from the bedroom to the office across the hall once every few days, the plastic bits inside that allow the machine to oscillate have broken. The machine no longer oscillates. Good thing I purchased the warranty. The "Hot" function performs more like a thermostat and there isnt really anything "hot" about the air coming from the machine. Instead of being able to directly contro the temperature of the air coming out of the machine, youre left with a thermostat for the "hot" mode. Set it to 70º and the machine will turn off once that temperature is reached. When the temperature drops below 70º the machine will resume producing "warm" air. Thats exactly what you'll get: warm air. The machine isnt great at keeping you warm unless youre within a few feet of it. This is the case despite having a "narrow" fan function. As for cooling, the machine is actually great at this. It is not too noisy even at the "10" setting and can efficiently cool a room on a hot summer day. Overall, don't expect a $500 value from this Dyson product.

I can confirm that when the machine is in heat mode, if you do set a target room temperature, once your room reaches that temp, the machine does go into standby mode. You can adjust the temperature up to 99 degrees, and also adjust the airflow speed from 1-10, if you desire a stronger flow of heated air in your space.
