Fanning is not the same as Cooling

From the packaging I was expecting some sort of cooling capacity that would lower the temperature not just blow air around. I felt misled by the packaging.

Posted .Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We were sorry to hear how disappointed you've been with the Dyson HP01 Pure Hot + Cool air purifier. Dyson Pure Hot + Cool features a HEPA filter to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, mold spores, bacteria and pet dander. The second layer in the filter contains activated carbon to capture household odors and volatile organic compounds like paint fumes. The machine also features a sleep timer, oscillation and 10 air speed settings.
With regard to cooling the air, our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air.

This model does offer 10 airflow speeds, and you can set the temperature up to 99 degrees Fahrenheit.
