Dyson Delivers Big yet again...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This vacuum had my attention straight away and I was chomping at the bit to use it. I followed the directions and got everything together and charged up. Let me back up, my wife has 3 long haired cats and we have hard surface floors in the whole house. So you can imagine what shedding season is like. They're shedding right now and I couldn't wait to see how this thing performed. The house is over 2000 square feet. This thing picked up anything and everything with ease, especially under the furniture because it lays completely flat. This thing also vacuums just as good in reverse as it does going forward. The dual rollers make it so you can go forward, and instead of going back on the same track, wasting time. You move the head over and pull backwards. It picks up just as good in that direction too. The 360 degree swivel head makes going around furniture, corners, walls, or just changing direction a breeze.The cannister isn't huge but its big enough for several rooms, depending on how dirty they are of course...Emptying the bin is a snap and you just pop it towards the garbage and it shoots everything out and you never have to touch it. The anti static features on the rollers really helps with picking up every little fiber and hair, dust dirt and dander. I found it gentle on my hardwood floors leaving no marks at all. The run time actually surprised me. I got 27 minutes of non--stop vacuuming before it died. I was able to clean all the rooms I needed to clean. As long as you don't waste time going over the same spot with your reverse, you can cover a room a lot faster than traditional cleaners. Granted there will be sometimes where you have to go back and forth in the same spot if something is being stubborn. But overall you just go forward, move over left or right, pull back and repeat or walk the length of the room and do a 180 and head back in the other direction. the days of back and forth vacuuming are over. I would not use this machine to vacuum furniture rugs carpet or beds. Because it was not engineered for that sort of work.. The light is handy and the hand held features are great for getting up high. The machine is so light, if you have weak or bad wrists, this will be a welcome addition because its feather light. Dyson really knocked it out of the park on this one...The machine does have a boost button, but this really shortens battery life and I found no need for it..I give it 5 plus stars...

For $500 i would expect it not to get clogged all the time. I am constantly having to take it apart to clean out the dirt, because it is not sucking up the dirt off the floor. Its marketed to pet hair, but that’s what seems to keep clogging it.

Not my favorite product

The Dyson Omni-glide was designed for use on hard floors, and its smaller, compact size makes it ideal for smaller homes, apartments, etc. The omni-directional soft roller head features two counter-rotating motorized soft rollers to be gentle on your floors, and an articulating neck in the floor tool to lay completely flat for low profile cleaning. The Omni-glide does transform easily to a hand held machine, when you remove the wand and attach tools directly to the bin. The combi-crevice tool will come in the box for your handheld cleaning needs.

Worst investment ever

This vacuum doesn't suck, it literally blows

We went for a Dyson, because it was especially compact and was supposed to be good at the one thing it's designed to do. Instead, even when perfectly cleaned, it constantly throws balls of dust that you just picked up back out of the vacuum. Literally the only thing I've seen this vacuum successfully pick up has been the occasional cat litter, and my wife's hair, which tangles up this vacuum badly. It's an awful vacuum, and Dyson should be ashamed of releasing a product that costs so much and is beyond mediocre: it doesn't vacuum in the first place, it blows.

Pass on the Omni.

This vacuum has been a completely different story. Omni is my fifth dyson I have purchased. I thought it would be perfect for quick jobs on my hardwood floors. However the first arrived and only worked one time out of the box. Dyson sent me a new one, and that one worked about an hour total before the battery failed. Dyson was kind enough to send a replacement battery that typically costs $150ish dollars at no charge. I am not confident that the Omni is a well engineered vacuum that dyson usually puts out.

Not so great

Doesn't pick much up the first two-three passes. If we didn't have it packed up in a POD we would have returned it.

Disappointed and return process a hassle.

Simply pushing the vacuum caused it to flail around and fly out from the floor since it is so light. The return process with Best Buy was a nightmare. Contact through online chat and via phone is obviously contracted out internationally.. extremely difficult to communicate with the representatives when they do not speak clear English.

Don’t buy this it’s very poor!

Never! Ever! but a battery operated u have to charge my vacuum place I go for repairs u have to replace the batteries and they cost $125.00. thumbs down.

Horrible battery life
