Hello Chimola, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Omni-glide is a smaller cord-free machine, designed for use on hard floors. Due to its smaller, more compact size, it is great for smaller homes and apartments. When using this model in ECO mode, it will give up to 20 minutes of run time. We do offer a full range of cord-free machines, suitable for a multitude of floor types. Run times will very depending on the suction mode in use; some of our newer models do run up to 2 hours, with a swappable, click-in battery.

We'd value the opportunity to learn more about your experience with your Dyson as we'd like to help ensure you are having a 5-star experience. Please feel free to reach out to us at askdysonUS@dyson.com, and we will be in touch.

Best vacuum for hardwood floors HANDS DOWN!

One of the best purchases I ever made! I initially bought a competitor’s stick vacuum but it was too bulky and not much different than using a regular vacuum. This Dyson model is SO LIGHTWEIGHT and easy to maneuver. The suction is fantastic and just like other Dyson models it’s easy to disassemble to maintain and clean it to keep it running for years. About half of my 2500sq ft home is hardwood or tile and I can vacuum it twice on one battery charge. I was worried about other models scratching my hardwood but no worries with this one and the velvety rollers.

Received my Dyson Omni-Glide Cordless Vacuum, placed the included wall hanging charger (can mount with the enclosed screws or tape) and after charging overnight was ready to give it a go! I have a dog and was hoping that this vacuum would help to eliminate the pet hairs that accumulate on my laminate and tile flooring as well as your usual debris and dust. Please note this is to be used on dry flooring only. First thing you will notice are the two motorized omni-directional soft red and purple roller heads which feel like velvet and have embedded brushes. It also has four small 360° stabilizing castors that allow it to move in all directions easily. Second is the next to nothing weight of 4.2lbs! Oh my goodness! I have carpal tunnel and I literally can vacuum my whole house without pain. It holds an excellent charge, although I mostly use it on the regular setting...not MAX...because it has such great suction on regular and using that mode saves your battery time. I have yet to run out of battery after any use but its rated to give you up to 20 minutes of run time depending of course on the power mode used, debris, etc. This vacuum is incredible how it just picks up the most minute to large debris, even in corners, and because it's so slim it fits right up underneath many of my furniture pieces - places I normally would have to move to get under. As far as cleaning the canister it's so simple. You just press the round red button to disengage it from the wand which leaves you with the handle/canister bin section. There is another red button which then opens up to release the contents. This versatile Omni-Glide can be used as a handheld unit as well using the Combination tool which provides soft dusting and access to tight spaces for two tools in one. Another great feature is it has whole machine filtration which captures 99.99% of particles, allergens and dust. Wonderful for those with allergies like myself. Noisy? It's not. I have tinnitus and so many vacuum cleaners drive me crazy with the pitch and loudness. This one? Perfect. So no worries there folks. Another great feature is the "always on" power button so no need to hold it in to keep it running. For a vacuum that the head measures only about 8" across the front x 5' from front to back and 1 3/4" high this thing is absolutely remarkable! I honestly do not know how I managed without it. Highly highly recommended...you will love it! I do!!

Powerful, Small, Effortless Hard Floor Vacuum

The Dyson Omni-Glide is a small handheld vacuum intended for hard floors. It comes with a combination tool, omnidirectional soft roller head, extension, docking station, and charger. It is similar to Dyson's V series, but has a smaller bin and has a straight handle. I have about 650 square feet of hardwood flooring in my home which wasn't a problem for the small bin. The omnidirectional soft roller attachment is the best part of the omni-glide. It rolls easily over the floor with very little effort. The straight handle enables you to maneuver the soft roller with ease and precision. I didn't have any problems with the rollers when using eco mode. The roller head allows you to get in low to areas you otherwise would not be able to get to with some other vacuum head. I was able to vacuum under chairs without having to move them, around and behind toilets, between my washer and dryer, and up into corners with no problems. The roller head picked up more than my broom which is what I was using prior to the omni-glide. It pointed out to me just how much is left behind by a broom. Battery life is good. I had vacuumed all of my hardwood floors and still had power left to change the attachment to the combination tool and take care of the top of base boards. The bin is easy to empty and is a washable and replaceable component. In addition, the filter can be removed and washed. The bin, filter, and battery can all be replaced. The docking station that comes with the Omni-Glide can be mounted on a wall with either screws or double sided tape. The holder doesn't hold up the weight of the Omni-Glide, it is used to lean the Omni-Glide against it which connects the power plug to the vacuum and the extension and roller head hold up the weight. Because of this, something like command strips might be an option to mount the holder. It can take up to 3.5 hours to charge. It has multiple power modes, but I found myself using the eco mode more than the other modes. For me, this will allow me to vacuum all of the hard-wood floor space and vacuum the top and bottom parts of my base boards. You could also use the combination tool and brush to clean just about anything. I vacuumed dust from blinds, hard to reach areas towards the back of end tables and behind my tv stand. I'm very happy with what Dyson has here with the Omni-Glide. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a vacuum for hard floors.

    A vac with amazing technology

This Dyson vacuum is simply amazing! When unboxing it, I wasn't sure it'd really be that powerful because it's so small and light but I was very much wrong about that! Dyson's technology really shows in this vacuum, it's small (maybe a little larger than the width of an energy drink can with a handle on it), very light, and very powerful! After charging it up all the way and using it several times, it makes keeping my hard floors clean a breeze, it's light and just glides right over them. The omni direction head glides with ease and makes it easy to get in those hard to reach places like under the table and chairs in the dining room and under the hutch and all the edges. Because the head has brushes, it picks up everything it comes across. This vacuum has two power modes. The regular mode works for light vacuuming and the high power mode for larger messes/debris that is harder to lift up. It has a wall mount charger that makes it easy to hide away in a closet or behind an appliance so it's out of sight when not in use and easy to get to when you need it as I put it in my pantry. It does last more than long enough to vacuum my kitchen, dining and family room hard floors with power to spare, which is amazing considering it's size! The tank is small so as long as you keep up on your floors you won't have any trouble with it filling up. I would say you might want to save the larger jobs for your big vacuum, like if you spilled soil from a plant on the floor for example. When it comes to suction power, this thing is a marvel of technology, it's way more powerful than I thought and at first was concerned it would not have enough power to suck up larger debris.. but I was so wrong about that.  If you have hard floors in your home and want to keep up on the dust (and ditch that nasty dust mop!) this would hands down be the machine I'd get. It can be kept out of the way, it's light and easy to use and makes keeping up on your hard floors a breeze! I'd highly recommend this product based on my use of it so far and based on my experience with other Dyson vacuums I would believe that this will last every bit as long as they have lasted.

I just got my Dyson Omni-glide hard floor cordless vacuum. While it has some very cool and unique features, it does have a few drawbacks. First I will talk about the good stuff. The Omni-glide is lightweight, weighing just over 4 pounds. It has 2 soft roller heads that pick up every speck of dirt and dust on the floor. The vacuum has 4 small casters on the bottom, giving you full 360-degree movement. You can go up, down, left, right, diagonals, and even sweep across the floor like a mop. The unit is thin and can lay flat, so you can reach under your beds, tables, and even many cabinets without missing a spot. The vacuum has 2 power modes, selected by push buttons on the handle. The extension between the head and the motor can be removed, giving you a nice handheld vacuum to be used for soft dusting and access to tight spaces. The filtration system is superb. It catches 99.99% of particles, dust, and allergens. I was amazed at just how much the vacuum picked up. It is easy to empty and the power dock can be mounted to a wall, to hang the vacuum on, so it is always ready to go. Now the drawbacks. Because of my height, 6ft 3in, the unit is a little short for me. I have to bend over to use it. I tend to clean my entire house at once and have a lot of hard surface floors. The battery run time was about 20 minutes, which wasn’t enough time for me to finish the whole house. It really needs a bigger battery with a longer run time. While I love the soft dual heads, they are only 7 inches wide. With such a narrow cleaning path, it can take a lot longer to vacuum a room. The last thing is that it really is a hard surface, floor only vacuum. If you have any carpets or rugs, don’t use this on them. The rollers will stop spinning if you even try to lightly sweep them off. Overall, the Dyson Omni-glide vacuum has some very unique features and does a fantastic job of cleaning, despite its limitations. Many will not have issues with some of these limitations and it will do a fantastic job of cleaning. I can recommend it for its cleaning capabilities, but know the drawbacks and decide if they make a difference to you or not.

This vacuum is great. Super light weight but super powerful as well. We've owned other battery operated "stick" vacuums before but never a Dyson and none like this. It is so lightweight and easy to maneuver. This is perfect for us since we have all wood floors in our house with tile in the bathrooms. The dual spinning soft rollers seem to make it float along the floor making it feel almost weightless while operating. Suction is also surprisingly strong and much greater compared to other models we've owned which is amazing in its small compact design. We have 4 young children and vacuuming is a daily chore at our house, this vacuum makes it effortless. I really like that emptying the cannister is completely touch-free and you don't have to touch any of the floor debris to empty = more sanitary operation. It has push button on-off so no trigger to keep compressed the whole time you're cleaning and also has a push button "max" mode for increased suction, although this is rarely needed and will use up the battery faster. On that note battery life is very good and we've not run into a situation yet where the mess outlasts the battery. The snap in charger mounted to the wall is also a nice plus as it will always be hanging in the same place when not in use and it's up off the floor to reduce clutter. Switching to handheld mode without the additional long tube makes stairs quick and easy. I also like knowing that the filtration system is taking all the dust and unwanted particles out of the air without exhausting them back into the home air. Overall we are extremely happy with this vacuum and will definitely be looking back at Dyson models if it ever needs replacing.

I love all my Dyson products, and this one is no exception. This vacuum is so light and tiny! I especially love it for cleaning my hardwood stairs due to to its portability and the fact that it is cordless. Despite the slim profile, this vacuum packs a punch! The suction is incredible. You do not have to sweep dirt from the corners and edges of your walls to get the vacuum to pick it up; it picks up dirt from your floor edge to edge. It can vacuum under furniture flawlessly. The head and arm can go completely flat due to its in-line format. This allowed me to reach untouched spaces in my house that other vacuums cannot even touch. I was able to clean all the way under my king size bed and sofa because of this. And the dust that came out OOF! Its omni-directional format allows you to easily maneuver into tight spaces and corners. The head goes forward, backwards, and sideways. The head of this vacuum is very slim as well. I have a robot vacuum that is too thick to fit under my low profile bed and sofa. But this vacuum worked perfectly. This vacuum has two motorized rollers and picks up fine dust as well as large debris. It doesn’t kick dirt around; it sucks it up the first time. Speaking of fine dust, this vacuum will leave your home’s air cleaner than the air that it sucked in due to its incredible filter. Emptying the vacuum is a breeze as well. It is completely touch-less which is amazing because I hate having to handle dirt and grime. The vacuum charge is rated at 20 minutes which is way more than enough time for me to vacuum about 1200 square feet. I’m sure I could vacuum at least double or triple that square footage since I charge my vacuum maybe every 2-3 times I use it. The push button start is also one of my favorite features; no more fumbling with foot pedals to start your vacuum. I have one criticism about this vacuum. It is designed specifically for hard floors. I have tried it on some of the carpeted areas in my house, and the rollers just stop turning after a few seconds. The only way to get them on again is to cycle the vacuum on and off. I do have lots of carpeted areas in my house, so this is rather disappointing. However, I cannot take any stars off because this vacuum is intended only for hard floors and it does as advertised flawlessly. Overall, super vacuum for all kinds of hard floors - wood, marble, tile!

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've been so disappointed with the Dyson Omni-Glide, thus far in your use. Your Omni-Glide offers two modes of suction for any type/size mess in your home. The Omni-directional soft roller head provides ultra-maneuverability, allowing the unit to easily more forward, backward and sideways on your hair floors. It's compact, in-line format allows you to clean under low profile furniture and hard-to-reach places. The powerful cyclones also generate enough force to remove microscopic dust. It's unusual to hear that you have debris falling out of the machine, once you're done vacuuming. We'd be happy to go over some troubleshooting checks with you to help resolve this issue. Please feel free to contact us directly via email at askdysonUS@dyson.com. It will be our pleasure to provide support.

This Dyson Omni-Glide hard surface vacuum could not have come at a better time! I’ve been looking for a vacuum for my hardwood and tiled floors. Although I already have a Dyson, Animal, I don’t have a good hard surface floor brush for it. The first thing I noticed about the Omni-Glide vacuum is that its very lightweight. It weighs approximately 5lbs with the roller brush, for comparison, the Animal V11 weights almost 7lbs. The Omni-glide comes with 2 attachments, a unique “omni-directional soft roller” and a cleverly designed combo crevice tool with brush. The charger is fairly small as well, it is connected to an equally small wall mount. Unlike other Dyson vacuums, it doesn’t appear like the charge cord can be removed from the wall mount. The omni-directional soft roller tool is unlike any vacuum head I’ve used before; it is very maneuverable! It’s power head spins towards the suction hole to capture dust and dirt and sends it into the vacuum. The rollers are, as you would guess, very soft. So perfectly safe for your hardwood floors or any delicate surface. My family tends to use the Animal with power heard to vacuum the hard surfaces and it makes a rather loud sound, the Omni-Glide doesn’t do that. The omni-glide head can get to all the hard to reach places other vacuums cant, close to the walls, next to the toe kick of kitchen cabinets, I was even able to vacuum under the pedals of the piano (2.75” clearance), the omni-glide head is only 1.75” tall. After 5 mins walking around my house, the canister was already ½ full! I didn’t think my floors were so dusty, but I guess I was wrong. With a press of a button, the omni-glide head easily comes apart for cleaning. There is also a replaceable filter inside, it traps 99.99% of particles! This will be helpful for my seasonal allergies. I tried this in the basement, where I just finished putting up some drywall and plaster a few weeks ago. Although the floors had already been cleaned, after walking around a few minutes with the Omni-glide, the dirt trapped inside the canister was white plaster dust, very find dust. Overall, I love this little vacuum, it’s better than any vacuums I’ve looked into purchasing. The promised run time of 20 minutes is adequate, it’s a good compromise for a lighter device. In my tests, it lasted around 18-24 minutes. Growing up, I remember my parents had this broom with a foam sweeping surface. It was good because the foam picked up dust like no other broom could. This vacuum is a 2021 version of that! Pros: Vacuums close to walls, cabinets, under sofas etc, very maneuverable. Cons: None.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you've found the new Dyson Omni-glide to be such a disappointment. One of our newest cord-free machines, the Omni-glide was designed for use on hard floors. It's smaller size makes it ideal for smaller homes and apartments. The Omni-directional soft roller head allows the head to move forward, backward and side-to-side. Also, the articulating neck and low profile means this vacuum can lay completely flat to reach under furniture and beds. We would value the opportunity to ensure that your vacuum is performing as designed, or address any questions or concerns you may have. Another great vacuum from Dyson!

Dyson's entry into cordless vacuums has produced a really great, easy to use vacuum with a few small caveats. In the package is the vacuum, charger and instructions. The vacuum requires some assembly, which is mostly straightforward--thank goodness, since the included guide wasn't much help. It all snaps together so there are no tools required--for the vacuum. In order to follow the instructions for the charger you will need a few tools: a screwdriver at the very least, though a stud-finder and power drill are helpful for mounting. The charger needs to be mounted in such a way that the vacuum still sits on the floor--a bit of an inconvenience, since a very specific spot is required. You'll need access to an outlet fairly close by, and free wall and floor space for the vacuum to be stored since the vacuum needs to sit on the ground with the charger mounted in the right spot for it to 'slide' right onto the charger. Fortunately I have a utility closet that fits the bill and can keep the vacuum stored while out of sight without having to shuffle too many things around. It would have been nice if the charger had been a bit more substantial to hold the vacuum off the floor and make storage a bit more convenient. It takes roughly 4-hours to fully charge the vacuum. There are two settings on it that will determine how fast you use the charge---a standard setting and a 'high' setting that presumably uses the battery twice as fast. The vacuum does a fantastic job--I have used it in several areas including an outdoor patio and it gets small things up quickly, with the stronger setting getting everything up in one pass! I tested it over a dirt spill near a flower pot that had been knocked over, and the high setting took the nearly quarter-inch depth dirt up completely down to the concrete! The 360 degree rollers make it very maneuverable, and it's very lightweight so there's very little chance of 'arm fatigue' before the job is finished. The head itself could be larger--with the small size it takes a while to clean larger areas. It feels like this is a vacuum designed for quick clean up of small messes, and it excels at that. Large rooms or even large messes are a bit more of a hassle due to the head size, and the small amount of dirt the cup holds before having to be emptied. A quick cleaning of my garage (standard two-car size) took about 5 cup empties, which was a bit of a hassle. While it's not perfect, it does excel at the thing Dyson's known for--great power to it's vacuum cleaners. This vacuum does a fantastic job of cleaning small areas and even big spills, it may just take longer that you feel like it should due to the small head and cup that doesn't hold much. If you've got a place to store it and are in need of a device like this then I highly recommend it!

    Great Vacuum for Specific Jobs

First the specs. I was able to get a little under 10 minutes of use from the most powerful setting. I was able to get about 25 minutes of use from the regular power setting. Both tests were using the Omni-direction head. As for power and ability, while this is a bit of a niche device, it works well for any cleaning activity. But where it excels, is the ability to get all the way back to the wall under large pieces of furniture. With its articulating head and slim profile, you can drop this all the way to the floor and get to virtually anywhere. The omni-direction head makes this even easier being able to go in on all sorts of angles. I do like the ability to switch heads or removed the straight line extension so this becomes handheld. But I again have the same issue as I have with my other Dysons. There’s nowhere to store the additional accessories. The wall charging adapter is slim and compact, but adding a couple slots for storage would be nice. While I enjoyed the ergonomics of this device, my wife has medical issues with gripping and advised that the handle has little grip/slippery and is a little too big to comfortably hold on to with her condition. I plan on adding some grip tape (think lacrosse stick or baseball bat) to help her with this issue. Other than that, this device is solid. It will remain a staple for cleaning our home. I would recommend this device to my friends and family.

This is one of the first products that I really cant find anything negative to say. Out of the box set up is a snap as the 3 part unit clicks together in seconds. The compact charging dock is low profile and easy to install. They even include a pencil for you to mark the holes with their template. I love the feel of the handle - sort of reminds me of what a light saber might feel like. From there the unique soft head with counter rotating bars that allow you to get right up to the wall in any direction. It is super maneuverable and will fit under most furniture. The unit easily converts into a hand held for various spot cleaning applications and the point and shoot bin orientation makes it easy to expel dirt into the garbage. Impressively light at just over 4 pounds it is really easy to maneuver. As with all Dyson products this feels like it is built to last.

So ive been using this for about 2 weeks now. I have to say its a great little vacuum for the right situation. I have 2 dogs that shed alot. This vacuum has a tough time reeling in the large clumps. The canister is smaller then i thought it would be. So for my dogs it fills up quite fast. I will say its a great secondary vacuum. I use it in between large vacuuming which I use my dyson ball vacuum. Its very light weight and works great. Id say if you have light dirt and minimal dog hair this is a great vacuum for you. Or if you have a small apartment or house with hard wood floors. Couple last things to add is its normal speed works good and if needed its boost mode helps get harder to pick up things. And the attachment it comes with is handy for crevices but it doesnt have a place to attach it on the unit. So youll have to store it on a shelf, which is a bit annoying.

Love this Dyson! The suction is very powerful and cleans a variety of floors. We own a fitness studio where we have different flooring inside the gym and lobby. The battery last for a good hour before recharging. Attachments are great addition.

This is probably the most movable versatile nimble vacuum I've ever used! Very sleek and user friendly. Comes with a wall mountable charging dock to keep the sexy sleek display on display. Battery life is good enough to vacuum the whole house and visible dust compartment let's you know when it's time to empty out, but you should always empty it after use. It's pricy, as all other Dyson products are, but nothing comes close to the performance of a Dyson! Worth the money. Thanks!
