Faulty Water Pump - Replacements in Mid April

Took it to the Dyson service center and they gave me a new one. That one failed after one tank of water. I returned it, but they said replacements with the upgraded water pump aren't going to be available until mid-April. They took my unit and never have me an e-mail receipt for it. I'm hoping I get my replacement.

In speaking with our engineers, we’ve identified that a select number of Pure Humidify+Cool units were experiencing a fault within the water pump column that makes the machine turn off and show an error. We’ve worked closely with our engineers to fix the problem moving forward, but recognize how frustrating it is for you currently—especially as one of the unlucky few who have experienced the error on more than one machine. Please accept our sincere apologies and know that we’ve identified the issue and implemented a remedy on units being re-stocked Mid-April.

Dyson Humidifier

Buy at own risk

Unfortunately, the PH01 appears to be an exception to the rule. The unit does a fine job with air purification. The Dyson Link app is reliable and intuitive. The device monitors all sorts of interesting air quality information, and the fan uses a unique and interesting design. However, the humidify function is ineffective. It’s disappointing to me since the device makes bold claims and has a seemingly interesting method for purifying the water before putting it into the air — all things that sold me on the product. Even with the desired humidity set to 41% and the fan running at the maximum level, my 300 sq ft room, does not reach much higher than 30% humidity, even with the door closed. Yet, I’d add new water daily. I would truly not recommend spending 800 dollars unless you get the geek squad protection. I have already swapped it out once and from the looks of things will most likely swap it out again.

The Pure Humidify+Cool is ideal for larger spaces, and it purifies, humidifies and cools the air around you. The filtration helps to automatically sense and capture allergens, pollutants and gases.
With regard to humidification, the machine can reach 70% humidity, but getting to this target depends on environmental conditions like the size and ventilation of the room, and the relative humidity of the surrounding air. Even when the machine is working properly, it can naturally be harder to reach a target humidity if the air is relatively dry to begin with, if it’s an “open” environment where non-humidified air is flowing in, etc.
While we don't expect issues to occur, Dyson does back your new machine from an authorized retailer with a free 2-year guarantee. Broke after 3 weeks, slow support

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't have any issues for three weeks, but just in the hottest days of the summer, I got the dreaded service exclamation icon. I contacted support, and they told me they would need to exchange it for a new one. At first, I thought they would send me a new one, so then I could ship the broken one on the new packaging (I had already gotten rid of the original box). When they told me they would need to ship an empty box first (took 3 days to ship, and 2 more to deliver), an until they received the broken one they would not be able to ship the replacement, I became very frustrated, as it's already been 7 days since I first contacted them, and the replacement hasn't even reached their returns dept. Fortunately, there was a silver lining: I got to use my wife's $15 Amazon Basics 7 inch fan and it has more air flow that the Dyson at level 10. Which means I will no longer buy or recommend Dyson's air purifiers. Buy a cheap fan and a very good quality purifier for less than half of this product. I'm so sad I can no longer return it... I may reconsider a 2-star rating if the new unit works for more than a month, so only time will tell.

It's not perfect...

It's actually not so good on the humidifier part, especially here in Las Vegas. Outside humidity is around 45% this time of the year (way higher than normal) and we are struggling to have 30% in the bedroom with the thing running all night. Other than that it does the job it was built for.

It's also got an LCD screen display, which reports air quality and humidity in real time.
The machine can reach 70% humidity, but getting to this target depends on environmental conditions like the size and ventilation of the room, and the relative humidity of the surrounding air. Even when the machine is working properly, it can naturally be harder to reach a target humidity if the air is relatively dry to begin with, if it’s an “open” environment where non-humidified air is flowing in, etc.

But how does anyone check it? Looks nice. Great Wi-Fi controls. Fan is not strong enough. The stand fan I replaced was in the corner of the room. This one was moved to the side of the bed so I could feel it, snd still has less power. For $800 you would expect more. I expect Dyson to be overpriced. But also expect a better product.

We're also glad to hear that you've found the WiFi controls to be so beneficial. We're sorry to learn that you found the machine to lack strong airflow. Your machine does feature 10 speeds of airflow to choose from, along with a new feature, breeze mode. Breeze Mode is enabled by Jet Axis Control and was selected from the NPI Open Ideas Day! Many of us enjoy the refreshing feeling of a natural outdoor breeze on a hot day – termed ‘thermal alliesthesia’. A team of engineers spent months using a 3D ultrasonic anemometer, an instrument that measures the direction and intensity of wind, to collect over 40 million data points. The team then created an algorithm to mimic natural airflow patterns using the machine’s oscillating Jet Axis Control barrels. The result is being able to bring that refreshing breeze feeling indoors.
