|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, I like the fan/humidifier, but it is not great at actually cooling the room. I was impressed by the ease of setup and quality of the materials. I like that it tells me the room temperature and that I can manage it from my cellphone. The fan works well and can blow out of either side of the ring. One side of the ring does allow for an oscillating function at two ranges. I just leave it straight so I get the most effect from the airflow. The humidifier works well and it is neat that it can be set to only come on if the humidity gets below a certain amount. This allows me to safely use it around electronics and my computer without worrying about extra humidity. The only issue I have is that it does not actually cool the room. It does allow to set a timer for the functionality to work on different timers, all the time or based on time intervals.

With regard to actually cooling your home or room, our purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air.

This product is defective and doesn’t work post a few months as the automatic cleaning cycle has a known defect that Dyson acknowledged at the service center. They do not have a replacement for the defective water tower component and all Dyson humidifier products have the same defect (hence no point of receiving a replacement either). Dyson and Best Buy sound helpless. I would not buy this product if I knew this defect. Others online have reported the same defect

Online chat support continuously asks for personal information, and when you don’t provide it, they won’t trouble shoot or take action. When you ask for a manager or supervisor they say there isn’t one, but if you provide more personal info, they’ll help you. I would give zero stars if able. After researching online reviews, it looks like many people suffer from Dyson’s lack of quality.
