Not a Must for Super Curly Hair (3C/4A hair)

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the dryer so I could see how it would perform on super curly hair (3C/4A curls), and I find it easier to let my hair air dry than to diffuse it. Whenever I have used the diffuser, it appears to make my hair more frizzy and dull. I also tested out a blowout, and my hair came out pretty well, but my arms were still tired from holding the dryer, so I don't feel like it's much lighter than the other dryers that I have used in the past. In other words, I have not found the dryer to be worth the considerable price tag for my curly type.

Conventional hair dryers often have large motors, and because of their size they have to be put in the head of the machine. As a result, they can be bulky, and they can blast air at extreme temperatures, all with the risk of hair being sucked into the filter and being trapped. This traditional hair dryer design has not advanced in more than 60 years. Dyson engineers set out to rethink this design. A hair dryer which uses a fast but focused airflow, the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer is engineered for balance in the hand. It intelligently controls the temperature to help protect hair from extreme heat damage.
With regard to your specific hair type, we have tested the Supersonic on multiple hair types. With regard to having your hair feel frizzy after use with the diffuser, you may wish to experiment with how much product you use, pre-style, as this can affect the hair texture with the use of the Supersonic. My wife loves it!! Best hair dryer she has ever owned. The air flow is very powerful but can be gentle as well. If you don't mind spending this much money on a hair dryer, this one is the best on the market.

I am not a super big fan of Dyson as far as their vacuums because they break and are not worth the money, but the hairdryer works great. It is a beautiful color and is definitely worth the money. It also comes with a great hard case to keep all the extensions and hairdryer in.

I think with time, these tools will gradually replace the shoddy old ones that she clings to. If it is on sale, this is a wonderful gift for someone that love to do their hair.
