This is the second time I have purchased a Dyson hairdryer, both have been gifts. I personally can't justify the cost to use myself, but for close friends and family that style hair daily, this has been amazing. The times I've used them it's been shocking how different it is from a typical hairdryer. The speed and ease of using this cannot be beaten. If you dry your hair daily or even a few times a week, you owe yourself this tool. The time you save and the way it makes hair look make the price easy to swallow. I've used this to help style hair and have gotten silky straight styles requiring little or no flat ironing, perfect wavy/loose curls with the diffuser, and the weight and way it's built make it easy to hold with no fatigue. The attachments are magnetic, making them super easy to change but hold very well with no issues falling off. It does take a bit to get used to with the air intake being at the bottom of the long handle, but when held correctly the longer handle helps balance it reducing the fatigue you'd normally feel with a standard hair dryer with its tiny handles and massive body making it top heavy. Once you get over the price shock and get it home and try it out, you will be in love and shocked by the time you save styling your hair. Your hair will look and feel amazing from the reduced heat damage. Get it.

I LOVE this thing. It's light, works well, heats up fast and is very quiet for a hair dryer. You just hear the sound of the air!! I wouldn't say it dries "faster" than say the shark (which I have also) but it is great. I did stop using my Shark that was only 6 months old.

The build quality of this Dyson Supersonic Hair dryer is impressive. I always like it when magnets are incorporated into devices, and so to have the ends magnetized onto the main body of the hair dryer, is a really nice design. I was surprised when I first turned on the Dyson Supersonic, the sound was not what I had expected, it sort of sounds like a high performance dentist drill, then once it is on and running, the sound of air is more noticeable and the zinging noise is less noticeable. This Dyson Supersonic hair dryer has a really cool sound to it. The main thing I use a hair dryer for, being a guy, is for the following list of things: To dry wood glue when building wood projects. To blow the inside of a computer free of dust. To spot warm myself when cold To dry my shoes & socks & feet of moisture. I always have a hair dryer plugged in next to my recliner, and when my feet get sweaty, or cold, then I reach form my hair dryer, and then my feet are nice and dry. This drastically reduces the growth of the athlete’s foot fungus. Keeping my feet dry and warm is what I use a hair dryer for more than anything, and the Dyson does not come with any round attachment, and the long oval attachments do not work as well for drying socks. If I was a person with long hair and used a hair dryer for the purpose of drying hair, then I would say that this would be one of the coolest hair dryers to use. My overall impression of this Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, is that it might be difficult to build a nicer hair dryer. I did check the option saying that I would suggest this item to a friend, this is based upon how well built and innovative it is, but at the current selling price of $399, I would be less likely to suggest it at that price. After all, this is only an electric device that has one main purpose, drying hair, and I don’t feel as if most people would want to spend $400 for a hair dryer. The original selling price of $400 for this Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, is the reason I am rating this as a 4 star product, instead of 5 stars. I figured I would add one fact about hair dryers, this is that hair spray is what damages a hair dryer more than anything. If ever spraying hair spray onto your hair, and then wanting to blow your hair one last time, then wait like 30 seconds after spraying the hair spray, before turning on a hair dryer. Otherwise the hair spray will get sucked into the hair dryer, and this will cause substantial clogging and eventually damage.

The Dyson hair dryer works great. I bought the other Dyson with multiple attachments for my daughters. They love it. The diffuser is nice for the kid with curly hair. I like the cool button as well as the no heat function. I ended up buying this second Dyson for myself since I have shorter hair and this comes with the only attachment that I use anyway so no need to spend more money for extra attachments that we already have. I never thought I would spend this much on not one but two hairdryers. I’ve had the original one for 6 months. This black one is the exact same as my purple one. If you don’t need all the attachments, then this is the better one to buy as it comes with the styling tool attachment but costs less.

I'm a hairstylist that who normally won't waste my money on name brand things like this, but my husband bought this for me as a gift and I can't imagine using anything else after this. It dries hair much faster and is very quiet compared to other hair dryers. The attachments are easy to use and work great for my needs at my job and on myself. Note: On normal hairdryers, the heat vent is at the rear of the blower, but this one is on the bottom of the handle. If you cover it up with your hand by mistake, it will shut itself off and not turn back on for about 5-10 minutes, so be aware. I would highly recommend this hairdryer for personal and professional use. It's worth the money.

This is my second Dyson hairdryer, nothing wrong with the first one but had it since they very first came out several years ago and figured time for an upgrade. Yes, they are expensive but in this case you get what you pay for , I think this one feels a little lighter than the original one I own . Love all the attachments that come with it My hair seems to dry faster with a Dyson, and I don’t get as many flyaways , I’ve owned the no babe brands before which are ok but Dyson is definitely far more superior

Was in a bind and this product solved everything. Recently moved from beautiful south Florida to somewhere much more frigid and my girlfriend would always hug me with cold, wet hair. This product solved that issue and came with the supplemental benefit of making her very happy. It is also much quieter than the traditional hair dryer. While yes other products will solve my primary issue of cold wet hair, other products would not provide the same supplemental benefit. Your girl has seen other influencers on tik tok flexing this hair dryer and undoubtedly wants one. This is an ideal gift and will make her hair look great and is worth its weight in bj points. Ok, first off, got this for the wife due to the fact that I don't have enough hair to bother using a hair dryer on. Most of this review is from her point of view, though I'm guessing that she matches the primary demographic for this device anyway. I am truly amazed at the work Dyson does on appliances. Do the alternates that have been around forever work almost as good, sure but Dyson always seems to up that game in style, usability, and function. I haven't been let down by any of the multitude of products I have from them that are all still running just as well as the day I purchased them. That being said, I was a tad skeptical on how much you could really do to a hair dryer, I must say though that Dyson being Dyson has done it again and made a stellar product. For its primary duty as a hair dryer it is awesome and does the job just as well as my wife previous dryer. Doesn't seem to do it faster or slower and her hair doesn't look any different. What it does do better is give a heck of a lot better control over her hair drying and best of all for me, it does so in a much quieter fashion. Now on those rare days when I get to sleep in past her, I can actually sleep and not be woken up by a screaming hair dryer! If for no other reason, it was worth it for me. That and the fact that I'm sure that this dryer will last forever which is great because my wife has gone through three dryers in the last two years. Eventually this thing is going to pay for itself. My wife had only one quibble with the Supersonic and it has to do with one of Dyson's main selling points for this thing. The balance that she is used to when drying her hair is completely thrown off by having the guts moved to the handle instead of in the head of the device. Now I'm sure she is going to get used to it the same way she initially got used to using a hair dryer in the first place but for right now she says her arms are sore from working different muscles. So maybe this isn't a bad thing, perhaps Dyson should also list as one of the benefits of the Supersonic that it is also a workout device! Bottom line: Can you get something that does exactly what this does for a whole lot less money? Yes of course but that can be said of any Dyson product and hasn't stopped them from winning legions of fans (including me). To me, this was worth the price because I see my wife using this for the rest of her life. Considering I have spent over $100 in the last two years on other dryers I figure even if it only lasts a decade, I will have still saved money! Also, if you are a tech geek like me and are trying to pull your luddite wife into the 21st century, there probably isn't a better way to do it than the Dyson Supersonic!

Got this during a rare sale at Best Buy as the Dyson hair dryer hardly ever goes on sale anywhere. I bought it for my wife since I'm follicularly challenged and don't have the need for one. I like that it doesn't sound like a jet engine taking off, as it is much quieter than a traditional hair dryer. You can actually carry on a conversation while it's running.
