I bought this to remedy that and so far she is very happy and says it is helping. She says it doesn't cut down too much on the drying time though.

This unit does and also drys her hair without cause split ends, etc.

Unfortunately I have not the same experience with this hair dryer. After drying my hair, it feels that the moisture and life of my hair was sucked out of it. My hair’s texture changes to super dry to the touch. I have never experienced anything like this with other professional (and not so professional) hair dryers. I tried lower heat settings but still, my hair looks terrible: dry and lifeless. So I end up using my old hair dryer because I am afraid that this hair dryer will ruin my hair, breaking it and just burning it! I kept it thinking that maybe I needed to get the hang of it but no, nothing has changed! Highly disappointed, I wish I had returned it then!

Posted .Hello Shil, this is Kelly with Dyson. The technology behind Dyson Supersonic is quite revolutionary and it is not like anything you might be used to. It can take some time to get used to the different settings, features and attachments Dyson supersonic provides during your drying session, not to mention your normal way or habit of drying your hair with traditional hair dryers.
While everyone is different, we certainly wouldn't expect hair to become dry, brittle or frizzy as a result of using Dyson Supersonic. The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer will feature intelligent heat control, which means it will monitor and control the temperature at all times. This helps prevent extreme heat damage and protects hair's natural shine. It also will feature negative ions to help prevent hair from becoming frizzy. One quick tip I would recommend, as outlined in our Dyson Supersonic support videos, will be using the dryer directly against your hair with a low speed/heat setting (to start with) using either your hand, a paddle brush or roll brush to control the movement of your hair. When the dryer is held away from your head the dryer reads the temperature of the room and not your hair, this also causes your hair to blow all around which can lead to damage and tangles. Please also note that each heat and airflow setting is designed to provide varying outcomes depending on the style you have in mind for any particular drying session.

She normally has used professional grade hair dryers over the years, but this is by far her favorite ever. If you can stomach the cost, go for it. You won’t regret it.

I somewhat appreciate that it doesn't get as hot as my other dryer so that I don't sweat while drying. I also like how compact it was. Not a lot of pros for the price. :/
