The most professional and high powered hair dryer I ever owned. If this is out of your budget, my second pick would be a t3. Expensive, but worth it. You get what you pay for - Quality.

I've had FOUR of these dryers. Yes, FOUR, and each one starts to shut off randomly (and overheating) after about a year to a year and a half. I clean the filter areas of my dryers after each use, and I only used the dryers 3 times a week, give or take. The filter set up just isn't conducive to getting it truly clean (the first go round, Dyson sent me a small round brush to clean the filter with, which I used religiously with no real help). There are reviews floating around about this issue and I saw a video where someone's husband actually removed the metal grill/filter and found it blocked from underneath) I continued to get new dryers, but only because I got a Best Buy warranty each time. Meanwhile, I have a BaByliss dryer that I've had for TEN years that is working just fine (it's my gym bag dryer). I can't be bothered to get a new Dyson dryer at this point. It's not with the money - I can get two BaByliss dryers for what I paid for the Dyson and they do just as good a job (and actually leave my hair smoother).

Honestly, my husband uses this hair dryer more than I do...after a shower, just to warm up after being outside for a few minutes, drying the dog after her baths, etc. Having rather long hair myself, it takes FOREVER to dry my hair with a traditional hair dryer. With the Dyson, it takes a fraction of the time. A standard hair dryer takes me around 14 minutes, but with the Dyson it took about 5 minutes! I've even started washing my hair in the mornings, rather than at night because now I don't have to devote so much time to my hair. The only con I have is the price of the unit, but get the Geek Squad protection to go with it! The plan is definitely worth it because if it stops working, Best Buy will give you another Dyson for no additional charge, aside from purchasing a protection plan on the new device. You can replace the thing every two years for a fraction of the price.

This had been the best hair dryer I've ever used, at least until it suddenly died after 6 years of service. Given its 2-year warranty, I suppose I got most of my $400+ dollars' worth. But I still expected a bit more from Dyson, given their reputation and high cost of their products.

Was very hesitant to spend the money on a hair dryer, but this isnt your normal dryer. The way it made my wifes hair look and feel was mind blowing.

I’ve had the dryer for 1 year and it’s been great. I like the compact design and it’s quieter than most dryers. The cord is a bit heavy but not a deal breaker. I definitely recommend.

Got for my wife for Christmas. I knew she wanted it (Daughter has one) and price was excellent. Has been a smash hit.

So first off, this hair dryer is a lot quieter than what I’m used to. The dryer itself is very effective. My advice: give it a chance. I think you will love it.

This is a beautiful hair dryer. It is obvious the amount of design and engineering that went into it. However, it doesn't seem to perform any better than a traditional hair dryer. It is difficult to recommend because it only seems to look better and doesn't dry my hair any faster, or provide any other benefits. However, if you really enjoy the design and want a luxury hair dryer, this would be the one to get.

I have thicker, more coarse, hair with blonde highlights. Initially I was very happy with the dryer, because my hair does look smoother after styling than it did with CHI dryer. But over several weeks I realized that it does not live up to the hype and price. My complaints about the dryer are 1) Lowest speed setting is too harsh for my hair 2) Takes longer to dry my hair 15 mins. vs 10 mins. 3) Just like with the CHI dryer, my hair is dry and stiff after blow drying and using flat iron is a must 4) Price. I would still say the Dyson is an overall improvement from my CHI dryer and I like that it's light and less noisy. All the sites I checked online gave the Dyson dryer excellent reviews. I wish I had investigated tourmaline and ionic hair dryers too rather than letting myself be swayed by all the excellent Dyson dryer reviews. I feel there is a better, more gentle dryer out there for my hair type.

My wife could not be happier with this product. This was a better gift than gold or diamonds. She starts her day on a good note with this dryer and her hair never looked so good. The biggest benefit is that it saves her so much time that we are no longer late to everywhere we go, which means that I am not getting upset with her, which has greatly reduced the stress on both of us.

Bought this as a gift for my Mom for Christmas and she won’t stop talking about it : )

I justified this purchase because I have A LOT of tape-ins which takes nearly 20 minutes to dry daily. I figured even if it knocked 5 minutes off my drying time it would be worth it! I purchased this item yesterday for $475 (with tax and 2 year warranty) and returned it tonight. Yes it’s fancy, light weight, quieter than most dryers but the bottom line is that it did not dry my hair any faster. My Conair actually dries my hair faster. I’m glad I tried it to know that this product is just not worth it.
