Brought this for my mom for her birthday and she loves it.

I asked my god-daughter, who is a hair stylist, to give me a professional opinion on the Dyson Supersonic dryer. Her notes are included below. The Dyson looks different than other hair dryers, so it really stands out from the crowd. Overall, it does an excellent job as a hair dryer. I am not convinced it is worth $400, but it has a useful design with thoughtful touches (like magnetic attachments) and does an excellent job overall. If you can find it on sale, I highly recommend it. Pros: Light weight Fairly quiet Dries quickly Adjustable heat and air flow Back of the dryer doesn't have suction so it doesn't get the hair caught in it like a lot of dryers The only area that does have a little suction is the exchange(?) at the bottom of the handle but even if you lay that directly on the hair it won't get caught in it Magnetic attachments that are easily turned, adjusted, and switched Compact/easily stored Cons: Box on the cord is a little heavy which sometimes makes it a little difficult if you're reaching with the dryer Because it has such strong air flow you have to be careful around people's ears because that much powerful air flow might be uncomfortable or painful to some If you're one of those people who like to dry hair holding the "barrel" of the blow dryer you don't really have that option given the barrel area is very wide and short It may have no correlation but since I've been using the dryer I tend to shock them a little after using the dryer. Nothing while the dryer is in my hand but that kind of little zap you get if you didn't put a dryer sheet in the laundry Doesn't really fit in your typical salon hair dryer holders on account of it not really having a barrel but if you flip it around you can put the handle in just be careful not to put to much stress on the cord if it will sit like that often. Overall I like the dryer quite a lot. It's a good dryer, and I thoroughly enjoy using it

Best Buy had a special for 319.99. The Dyson blowdryer is worth all the hype! Quiet & not too hot. Dries hair in half the time and I have long thick hair.

I purchased this as a mothers day gift and it worked out extremely well. She loves it and creates every little excuse to use it. The quality is well off for the price of the product. I would not expect anything less from Dyson. I know the price can be misleading and a turn off, but I promise that it is every bit worth buying.

My wife uses this everyday and I still usually never hear the thing. Quietest and most powerful one on the market by a long shot. Save your hearing ladies!! Buy one of these.

Great hairdryer a little expensive but worth every penny my hair has been not as frizzy from using this compared to my other hairdryer really easy to use

It is quieter and doesn’t take as long to dry hair. I use diffuser first then smoothing wand on low setting for shaping. Cord is big and heavier than regular hair dyers. Cooling button is in an awkward position. The main reason I bought it was to decrease the noice to prevent damaging my hearing. It is worth using for that reason as it is quieter.

I have very curly hair and this is the only blow dryer that is nice to my hair.

Like all Dyson products I have reviewed, this does not disappoint. Bought this for my wife and she LOVES it. Super light and dries hair extremely quickly compared to a traditional hair dryer.

The Dyson hair dryer is an impressive appliance. Unique well built and well balanced. Quiet and easy to use. Typically dries hair more quickly than typical hair dryers. I would definitely recommend this product.

Fantastic, best hair dryer ever and great innovative design both from an aesthetic and functional point of view. Unfortunately horrendously overpriced for what it is even though its a Dyson!

This hairdryer is really awesome! It is super powerful and very quiet as well. My girlfriend loves it and it literally just takes minutes instead of a longer time to dry her hair because it works so well!

This hair dryer is wonderful. Much quieter than most. The air intake and filter in the handle is genius. Drys my hair much faster and the speed and temperature control is excellent.
