It had too much power and dried out my hair-even in the lowest setting it did not work right. It does dry very fast and is quiet.

Posted .Hi JD, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to learn that the Dyson Supersonic didn't work out better for you, and for your hair type. There are a few different things you can do to change the method in which you dry your hair. To begin with the unit is designed with a type of thermal control which means it will monitor and control the temperature at all times. When the dryer is held away from your head the dryer reads the temperature of the room and not your hair; this also causes your hair to blow all around which can lead to damage and tangles. In light of this, it may be necessary to use the dryer directly against your hair with a low speed/heat setting (to start with) using either your hand, a paddle brush or roll brush to control the movement of your hair. When applying these tips to your everyday styling you should start to see a difference in the texture of your hair.

I have long thick hair and it dries it faster than the old dryer I had. The hot air is hot, but not enough to damage your hair. The cool air is cool, which I found surprising because previous hair dryers had the cool air function, but the air never felt cool enough. The one feature that sold me was how quiet it is. It's a hair dryer so it still makes noise, but much less than others. I bought this because I wanted a quiet hair dryer to use on my cats as well. They freak out at loud sounds like hair dryers and vacuums and I wanted a dryer that wasn't so loud. Yes, it's pricey for a hair dryer, but I love it.

Good quality you would expect from Dyson but for the price….its still just a hair dryer. Not worth what they charge, $40-$50 hair dryer pull off the same feat.

Fancy hairdryer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been through a few 'higher end' hairdryers but found this to be the best overall: -Quality - definitely well made/designed -Size - it's not bulky and lightweight; easy on the wrists. I also like that the handle is fairly long so I'm not accidentally pressing buttons while I'm drying my hair. -Speeds - three speeds! -Heat - this is a big one. There are three heat settings and it definitely gets hot enough to straighten my hair but not enough to scorch the earth. -Attachments - three useful magnetic attachments that are a breeze to take on and off. -Silicone mat - this may seem like a throwaway to some people, but it's super helpful to protect this investment if you're constantly picking up and putting down the dryer while you're doing your hair Cons - aside from the price (I mean you really have to value a good hair dryer to pay this amount), the cord has an attached bulky power block that is an awkward place and knocks around when I'm using it. Overall, I love it and hope it lasts unlike my previous Dyson vacuum cleaners (which coincidentally partially broke from vacuuming all of my hair).
