It is very thick and doesn't swing like a normal cord. It's kind of gets in your way because it is heavy and dangles. It's more like a gas pump line than an electric cord. It's not easy to pack up. You can't wrap the cord around it or put it in a drawer. You really need a set-up for it. Like a stand and everything. I haven't invested in one yet, but they got me. I need to spend more money on a hair dryer accessory for an already expensive dryer. The magnetic connection is the coolest part and has the most utility above any other hair dryer. It looks like it's a futuristic hair dryer. Could you get by with a cheaper one? Probably, but I am hoping this one would last me longer than your common target buy. 4/5, would not recommend it to a friend

However, it is a wonderful product. No more hair tangled in the air intake and it is very powerful. If it lasts half as long as my Dyson vac, I will be handing it down to my great-grandkids.

With this it takes between 5-10 mins depending how damp my hair is. I gave it 4 stars bc the exhaust is on the bottoms and I’m not used to it, so I’m always blocking it. Wish the handle was a bit longer

Yes, Dyson does have nice products, but the price can’t be justified. I was hesitant on buying this for a long time. I finally caved. It’s sleek. It’s nice. It looks oober cool. The first time I used it on my hair, it was knotted like crazy! Why? Because the lowest blow setting isn’t very “low” and blew my hair all over the place making it all knotted. I missed the 15-day return window to BestBuy. Lesson learned. A very expensive one at that. Thank goodness for OfferUp. It went to a new owner. Hopefully it will work better for her. So when they say this cuts down on drying time, well, yeah! It blows!

Posted .Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Thank you for sharing your review of the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. There are a few different things you can do to change the method in which you dry your hair. To begin with the unit is designed with a type of thermal control which means it will monitor and control the temperature at all times. When the dryer is held away from your head the dryer reads the temperature of the room and not your hair; this also causes your hair to blow all around which can lead to damage and tangles. In light of this, it may be necessary to use the dryer directly against your hair with a low speed/heat setting (to start with) using either your hand, a paddle brush or roll brush to control the movement of your hair. When applying these tips to your everyday styling you should start to see a difference in the texture of your hair.
