Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the impressive suction power and long battery life of the V11 Origin Cord-Free Stick Vacuum. Many appreciate its ease of use and lightweight design, making cleaning convenient. However, some find the price to be a significant drawback, and the dustbin capacity may require more frequent emptying than desired. The cordless functionality is also a frequently praised feature.

Great device. I read alot or reviews before purchasing and wasn’t sure if ut was worth the price but it’s absolutely worth it. You never work about plugging the cord, strong suction, and yiu can easily go under the cabinets and beds to clean. Also it’s been working great for 3 years now.

I absolutely love the Dyson V11 Origin. It’s lightweight, and easy to use. It can get under things and in tight spots other vacuums can not. I purchased additional attachments for it, and now there is nothing it can not do. The battery life is great too. I have had no trouble vacuuming the entire house, and still had power left every time. If you are considering getting this vacuum, don’t hesitate. Get it! If you are considering getting this vacuum, don’t hesitate. Get it. You won’t regret it!

I fully recommend, it’s very easy to use and it’s efficient. it’s not heavy and it cleans well. I usually vacuum once a week, but now I can do it everyday without complaining. I can even use it to vacuum the inside of my car without having to pay since it’s wireless. :)

Got this vacuum today [06-28-2020] and will update this review once I have tested it (would leave it at a 3 star review until then but it has a removable battery so that earns a star right off the bat). ---------------------------------------------------------------- [06-28-2020] The biggest thing for me was that the battery was removable. Or at least that is what I have read after looking at reviews, forums, and the Q&A section here. But I could not find a clear photo showing it. I am happy to say that the BATTERY IS REMOVABLE and I've have photos to prove it. Yes, this is the Dyson V11 Origin, not to be confused with the Dyson V11 Outsize Origin (which also has a removable battery). This particular Origin series vacuum is a retailer exclusive according to posts from the Dyson rep on the forums here (which is why I couldn't find it on the Dyson website nor reviews of this particular vacuum outside of BB's websites). I've used other cordless Dysons (my parents have the V7 which they still use and is great) and I picked up an old DC59 but that died on my after like a year. If you've looked at other reviews, there seems to be an issue with the vacuums dying within 5 years and for a vacuum that costs over half a grand, that's a huge worry (especially after experiencing it myself). The biggest issue from what I've seen is the battery dying and in previous models, it was not the easiest thing to replace (you'd have to send it in if you wanted it done by a professional). A removable battery would be a great win against that issue so I am very happy with this. **I got the vacuum on sale for $450 so that does factor into my review, especially when comparing against other models** The other Dyson with a removable battery is the V11 Outsize which is bigger (larger cleaning bin, larger motorized head, longer runtime, and more suction) but it costs more. Probably better for bigger households but I'm a single guy in a 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment so this model should do nicely. Compared to the V11 Torque and Animal, the Origin appears to be the same except the LCD display isn't as fancy and you don't get that many extra attachments (same suction power from what I've researched). The biggest advantage of this model, aside from the cheaper price, is that all-so-sweet removable battery.

The main thing I would want out of a new vacuum is great suction and power. This Dyson - V11 Origin Cord-Free Stick Vacuum does not disappoint in that category. The auto mode does a good job when vacuuming carpets and hardwood floors but switching to boost mode will just about suck the paint of your walls. First of all the un-boxing... When you first get it, plug it in right away to charge as it will take all of 3 to 4 hours to get a full charge which Dyson recommends before first use. Then unpack the rest of the tools and read through the directions. It is very easy to assemble. I also installed the hanging vacuum holder/charger. That feature is nice so you can hang it on a wall and it doesn't have to take up closet space where our old vacuum was stored. Having a battery powered cordless vacuum is awesome. No more cords to wind up, untwist, plug in and get in the way during vacuuming. After the full charge I put it immediately to the test. We have a 120 pound black lab that sheds constantly. I first tackled the living room which is 75% area rug and 25% hardwood. Vacuuming was very easy with the Dyson - V11 Origin Cord-Free Stick Vacuum. The unit is very top heavy but shouldn't be any problem for an adult to maneuver. The suction on auto mode was good and I could go from carpet to hardwood with no problem. You can even hear and feel the unit change power level as it switches between surfaces. If you had an old vacuum like mine that "claimed" to work on hardwood floors you will know that when you switch from carpet to hardwood the rollers just shoot all the debris on the hardwood out the back of the vacuum head and doesn't suck it up. This Dyson - V11 Origin Cord-Free Stick Vacuum switches between surfaces smoothly and sucks up every last particle on the floor. But this is where I ran into my first problem. The canister holding power. Within the first 4 to 5 minutes the canister filled up. I was shocked because I couldn't see that much dog hair and debris on the floor which means the Dyson was deep cleaning the floors. But just to vacuum the living room I had to empty the canister 3 timers. Onto the dining room that is all hardwood and where dog hair builds up against the walls and under the furniture. This is where I tried out the wand and tool. Again it worked great but I did have to empty the canister another 2 times. To be fair we hadn't vacuumed or swept in a while since we wanted to put the Dyson - V11 Origin Cord-Free Stick Vacuum to the test. If we kept up on a daily or bi-daily vacuuming routine, the canister probably would fill so fast. So after about an hour of testing, ( carpets, hardwood, furniture, cobwebs in the corner etc etc) I tackled the carpeted stairs where dog hair really builds up. I detached the hand held unit and put on the wide nozzle tool to get deep in the carpet. On auto I wasn't getting enough suction so I tried boost mode and the power was amazing. There was not a single dog hair left on the carpet. But this is where i ran into problem #2. Battery life. That whole first hour on auto used up only 1 of the 3 power lever indicator lights. 5 to 10 minutes of boost drained the battery completely. I only could finish 1 flight of stairs before having to charge the battery to finish the job. One other thing on boost is the air that is getting forced out of the unit was blowing papers off tables and swishing ashes around when I was near the fireplace. Just the price you pay for such great suction I guess. Overall this Dyson - V11 Origin Cord-Free Stick Vacuum is a great vacuum but I had to take 1 star away for the canister holding power and battery life.

This vacuum is a great vacuum. It offers all the same perks and options as the V11 Animal with the option of obtaining and using more batteries. This vacuum has the same screen as the V11 animal. I would like to point out though that it does say in the manual that you can use multiple batteries. I’ve seen comments from “dyson expert” saying you can’t that you have to purchase the outsize. That is not true since the manual the vacuum comes with says otherwise which I will add a picture of that page. This vacuum is a great price and for me offered everything I felt the outsize and torque lacked. I had both the V11 Torque and Outsize. I felt the outsize was too big but loved the option for more run time with additional batteries. I love the Torque but didn’t like that it would only last a certain amount of time. The only downside to this vacuum is not have the more upgraded screen but that is something I can live with out. I would also like to note that I can’t register this product online. After entering the model number or serial number it keeps telling me it cannot find the item. I believe this has to do with it being only sold by Best Buy and not anywhere else and the fact that this model is relatively new. I will be calling them and I’m sure they will fix the issue. Overall this vacuum is amazing! Anyone looking for a great vacuum at a great price can’t beat this model.

Great cordless vacuum for hardwoods, area rugs, or low pile carpet especially if you have pets! All in all – what you expect from Dyson - very well designed, looks good, amazing suction for a cordless, easy to swap out attachments, long battery life, and does a perfect job cleaning dog and cat hair while switching from hardwood to carpet automatically. Pros: 60 min battery life Great suction for a stick/cordless vacuum Easy storage and charging with drop in wall mount Large capacity bin for your biggest messes (also easy and fun to open and empty - think shotgun click/click action) Auto sensing suction adjustment when you go from hardwood to carpet and you don’t have to change the brush head! (*while in auto mode) Slim profile and quieter than a typical floor vac Perfect size for cleaning stairs Like that the attachments can be clipped to the floor wand Easily reach a 9’ ceiling with the wand attachment (I’m 5’8”) Cons: A bit heavy for long use especially if you are using the attachments vs. the floor brush No light on floor attachment You have to continually depress the trigger while vacuuming

At first glance, this is a sleek and well designed piece of house cleaning equipment. But after the honeymoon period is over, I realize that this has more sparkle than shine. I like how easy it is to go from floor to carpet, to curtains, to corners. That's great. The handling is effortless. Cleaning is a breeze. The charger holds the two attachments while they're not in use. Even though, there are sockets on the main shaft to hold them. The charger is small and easy to hang above any out of the way wall sockets. The puppies fear it's presence, even though it's pretty quiet overall. It holds a charge pretty good. Just make sure that you are on the proper settings for the jobs intended. There's a lot positive to say about the vacuum, but the glaring problem is the price. With all the bells and whistles attached, it still asks you to drop a $550 entry fee. It's honestly not worth that. I can't, in good conscience, recommend this to anyone looking for an all in one vacuum. It cleans like it should, but the price is no good. Sorry Dyson.

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're happy to hear that your first impression of the Dyson V11 Origin cord-free vacuum was such a positive one. I'm pleased how easy you found that it transitions from bare flooring to carpeting. Our V11 machines do include three powerful suction modes, so you have the right amount of suction and power, to tackle any household job, on any surface in the home. With all that being said, we're sorry to hear that you're not having a 5-star experience with your new vacuum. We would value the opportunity to ensure that your vacuum is performing as designed, or address any questions or concerns you may have. It took me a grand total of 15 minutes to un-box and assemble this Dyson- V11 Origin Cord-Free Stick Vacuum. (and another 15 minutes to love it) No tools are required as it easily just snaps together. It disassembles just as easy to become a very powerful hand vac. The included crevice tool and brush attachment can be used with or without the fuchsia suction tube and are very handy for getting into cramped space. It worked well with the brush up and down the stairs and cleaning up my laptop and lap desk. The brush vacuum head attaches to the suction tube for normal floor vacuuming and in auto mode automatically adjusts the suction as needed when changing floor types such as from hardwoods to rugs or carpet. It has two other power modes in addition to auto. Boost gives you the most power but the shortest battery life and Eco gives ya the lowest power but the longest battery life It did a great job on the Vinyl floors as well as rugs and hardwood They incorporated the "Ball" technology in this stick and adjusts to many angles to easily manipulate around corners and other obstacles. We have a cat and my wife has long hair, and neither cat hair or human hair was a problem for this vacuum. It picks up normal household dust and dirt and small debris easily as well. I did 5 rooms and the hallway and the battery was still showing a full charge. A wall mount is included that can function as a charging base if you desire to use it or you can just hook up the charger directly to the battery and prop it up somewhere or lay it on the floor. Its super easy to "no touch" empty the full size bin with the flip of a lever and the washable filter access is but a twist of the wrist.

The first thing you notice is how lite it is. After fully charging it I vacuumed my entire house, about 3000 sq/ft, and didn't use up all the battery life. When I got to my steps, I removed the stick and attached the head directly and backed down the steps cleaning with ease. It comes with a holder for the attachments that snaps on the stick, so you have everything with you at all times. Changing from one attachment to another is easy. As with all Dyson vacuums, the filter just pops out to be washed and dried and never has to be replaced. The Dyson Ball vacuum that we have had for about 10 years still has the same filter. I have found though, that when I'm carrying it, I like to take the stick off and carry it in one hand and the vacuum head in the other. I have heard that some people have a problem with the fact that you have to hold the trigger down the whole time and it shuts off when you release it. I didn't find it hard to hold down the trigger at all. Overall, it defiantly lives up to the Dyson name.

Swore we'd never buy a Dyson stick vacuum because they are so pricey. Our Shark Rocket died after six years of use. Did a lot of comparison shopping and ended up purchasing the V11 Origin. This is one great stick vacuum. It significantly out-performs the Shark on both carpets and wood floors, it's very quiet compared to the banshee wail of the Shark, recharges fairly quickly and is light weight for easy handling. As a bonus, we can swap out the battery for a fresh one with the press of a button. It takes on charged battery for vacuuming our 2,100 sq. ft. home and then another battery to handle all the dusting chores. We're delighted with the Dyson. Have owned Shark, Hoover, and many other name brand vacuums over the year; the Dyson is the best of the bunch.

This has replaced my previous dyson but this is the perfect sized vacuum that is cordless and picks up even the little things on the floor. You definitely need a stand for this vacuum cleaner because my first one kept falling. It’s not included but highly recommend it. The charging actually lasts longer than before and is easy to move around. It’s a little pricey but goes a long way. Perfect size for my small apartment.

Virtually an excellent product. Great suction. I wish the overall cleaning process was not soo complicated. Dumping the dirt is very very easy. The cannister is a little small but given that the product is so light and so powerful, I dont mind that at all. I also wish it was not so expensive.

    Dyson VII Origin-Very Happy w/Vacuum

I have had the Dyson VII Origin cordless vacuum for about a month. So far, the vacuum has been excellent. Picks up everything, goes from hardwood to rugs/carpets easily, and the battery lasts in the different modes as advertised. The extra attachments work well for carpeted stairs and under furniture. The vacuum is light weight, but I will say it is slightly top heavy (not to any degree it is not comfortable to use), but be aware the motor is beside the handle rather than below the handle which distributes the most weight at the top. Also, the first time I used the vacuum, I did think it was a bit difficult to push on the carpet, however I realized I just needed to hold the handle downward slightly to have it pick up and move across the carpet easily (or use on eco). Emptying the pick up bin is easy and by reading the directions the filter and bin are easy to clean. Also, want to comment that this vacuum picks up more than any other vacuum I have ever owned (my rugs/carpets and hardwoods look great, my furniture is dog hair free (from one short haired dog-not a heavy shedder), and overall I’m very happy with the vacuum! Highly recommend for those who have a mix of hardwood and carpet in a small to moderate sized home.

We've owned an upright Dyson for years. With a large house, we figured it'd be convenient to have a cordless model. Other battery-operated vacuums haven't had the power neither in the suction nor the brush to pick up much of our animals' hair. We had just vacuumed when this unit arrived, but charged it up to test it out. Surprisingly, it picked up quite a bit of dust and hair that our last model had obviously missed. We're also quite happy with the battery life and all of the configuration options. One of the few negatives is the length of time to charge it. This isn't too much of a problem if you leave it on the charger, and is negated by the runtime provided by a full charge. The only other downside is that the collection bin is small and needs emptied often. It's obvious why it has to be small due to the form factor of the unit, but it's still a negative. Overall, both my wife and I are extremely happy with this unit. It's well worth the high cost.

This Dyson Vacuum is small but powerful. I can’t even exaggerate how much dirt and dust this thing picks up. As I was assembling it, I turned it on just to see if it worked and the few inches it came in contact with my carpet rug nearly filled the canister half way. I clean my apartment ever week and I’m very cautious about bringing in dirt, so I could only imagine how bad it could get if you don’t pay attention to that stuff. Now, the price is very steep don’t get me wrong, but if you’re going to invest into a vacuum, you can guarantee this will do the job. Battery life is fairly decent. I can vacuum my whole 2 bedroom apartment in one charge and still have some battery life left over.
