Have had many vacuums over the years. This Dyson stands head and shoulders above the others. Battery life could be longer, but with the power of the vacuum it’s understandable. Charges fairly quickly though.

Having only used it for a few days, I can say that I am very happy with it so far. Incredibly easy to put together. Very lightweight. It has three power settings (eco, auto & boost) but I find just leaving it on auto works great. I like that the brush isn't very wide as this allows it to squeeze into spots other machines can't. It does a great job on my tiled kitchen floor as well as the carpets. It does an outstanding job with our dog & cat hairs! In a lot of ways, it's kind of more like an electric broom. Charging takes several hours and the battery is rated for 60 minutes with normal use. I would say the run time is fairly accurate. I love how easy it is to remove the filter! Haven't had to clean it yet, but it will be super easy when the time comes. The inclusion of a wall mounting bracket is a great idea. It will enable you to find a good spot to just leave it stored & charged at all times. Being a Dyson, I have no doubts about the long term durability. Never had a Dyson product fail me yet. If you have a large home, this would be great for cleaning small areas and hard to reach areas such as stairs. If you have a small house or an apartment, this is all the vacuum you will likely ever need. Being that it is battery powered and so lightweight, I will probably vacuum more often :-)

This is the best vacuum I have bought to date. I always thought Dyson products were just overpriced, but you definitely get what you pay for. I was a Shark guy for a while, but recently switched over to Dyson after having a bad experience with a Shark robot vacuum. It was the worst. However, the Shark upright and other stick vacuums are fine as well.

The important things: - Removeable battery and great battery life - Powerful suction and performance against dog hair and dirt - New trombone-style bin helps empty dirt into the trash instead of the air and floor Design My vacuum prior to the V11 was the V7 Motorhead – an already solid machine. Dyson has made several changes which extend their lead in the cordless spaces. The first obvious changes from older models is the new inline design and trombone style dust bin. This new design adds a couple benefits. Suction is improved by having a straight path for the airflow. Additionally, the trombone style mechanism means you can stick the bin into the trashcan for a cleaner emptying process. The draw back to this design is you must remove the attached tool in order to empty the bin, unlike with the older design. Weight is a slight increase, but this is a fair tradeoff for the features gained. I found no issue holding up the vacuum to clean high places. With the new design the length increases which makes it less versatile in tight spaces such as cars, but this can be overcome with additional tools that Dyson sells. The interface is super simple – there is a button on the back for selecting the mode you wish to use and a finger trigger for turning the vacuum on. There are warning lights which show when the filter is removed, or a clog is detected. These are little details but help in the overall usage of the vacuum and diagnosing of issues. The removeable battery is a small but impactful change. This effectively makes the V11 a whole home vacuum cleaner that can keep going and going. Performance I am constantly surprised by the power of Dyson’s cordless vacuums and the V11 is no slouch. Most of the time I found the Auto and Eco modes to be sufficient. The Auto mode is the ideal everyday setting as it adapts suction and brush power to the floor type. It did this quickly and accurately as I moved from hardwood to carpet in my home. Boost mode provides almost too much suction on carpet and I got a workout pushing and pulling. That being said it is great to have the power when you need it. Things like fluff from my stubborn wool rug and dog hair were picked up with no problem in Auto mode and cleaning the brush to remove any tangled hair is very easy, though I rarely have to. Battery life is incredible! I was able to achieve the advertised 60 minutes in Eco – an important milestone in cordless vacuums. The removable battery that I mentioned above is the icing on this cake allowing you to really cover a whole home with no down time. Conclusion With corded vacuum like power, long run time, removeable battery, and a swiss army knife of tools available, the V11 Origin is a vacuum that can replace your upright and do battle against any dirt, debris or dog hair with incredible effectiveness.
