Too expensive and should have more included accessories

I received the Dyson V11 Outsize this week and can say without a doubt that Dyson has just created the corded-vacuum replacement. The idea behind the V11 Outsize is to take the existing Dyson stick technology and add the ability to clean a whole house…including carpets, hardwood and tile. There are a number of features that contribute to this goal, but the most noticeable on the surface are the full-size cleaning head and collection bin and the dual no-fade batteries. I’ve owned other Dyson stick vacuums in the past and one want was the addition of a replacement battery system. With this model, 2 click-in batteries are included along with 2 charging cords, nice work Dyson! The claimed power is 60 minutes on each battery for a total of 120 minutes. After a week’s worth of use, on multiple floor surfaces, my V11 averaged approximately 30 minutes per charge on the “Auto” setting. With the ECO setting, times were almost doubled, but I liked the suction power on Auto. With Boost mode, the times dropped, but the suction really kicked in. I used this mode on the carpet areas where my dog likes to sleep and it was noticeably cleaner after a couple of passes. Setup – the vacuum needs very little building upon setup and is securely boxed. The main body and the “stick” need to be snapped together and the cleaning head added to the stick. Once the batteries were fully charged, 4-5 hours is recommended, you’re pretty much off and running. There is some setup needed on the smart LCD system. Language and notifications are setup based on user preferences…this takes less than 2 minutes. The vacuum also needed to be used for about 30 minutes for the smart screen to calibrate. It’s a simple but really useful feature. The power level is given in minutes and seconds and is very accurate. It’s nice since the batteries are very low-fade so the vacuum produces almost 100% suction power right up until the battery needs to be replaced. And with the addition of a second battery, finishing a job was never an issue. Operation – the V11 Outsize is super easy to use, simply select the cleaning head required for the job and pull the trigger. The cleaning heads are connected and removed by clicking red-colored tabs for easy use and identification. The power comes up instantly and shuts off just as quickly when you let go of the trigger. The sound level at operation is another noticeable feature, it’s much quieter and a less-offensive tone than most vacuums. Dyson’s Dynamic Load Sensor is another great feature. It senses the floor being cleaned and adjusts to the cleaning head for optimum cleaning, whether it’s carpet, hardwood or tile…no need to do anything while moving from room to room! The mini rollerball at the cleaning head makes the vacuum very easy to control and operate around obstacles. Cleaning – to clean the oversized collection bin, simply disconnect the cleaning head/stick and aim the bin at the trash can. There is another well marked red lever to release the door and clean out the bin. Very user-friendly and didn’t make any mess. There are tutorials available for cleaning the system and filters. Pros: - Two removable rechargeable batteries included - Full-size cleaning head and catch bin - Incredible power for cordless vacuum and quiet - Easy catch bin clean out - Multiple cleaning heads included, 6 including full-size cleaner - Intelligent LCD display system - Extended run time for cordless vacuum - Solid Dyson construction Cons: - Lack of an “ON” switch for longer use - A little on the heavy/large side for a stick or “portable” vacuum Overall, the Dyson V11 Outsize is the best “stick” vacuum I’ve ever owned and has officially replaced the corded Dyson vacuum in our home. The overall build quality is what you’d expect from Dyson and it truly can clean all floors whether carpet, hardwood or tile. The features work as advertised, this is the cord-cutting machine I’ve been waiting for and would recommend to anyone!

Good vacuum cleaner, but it should be for the price.

My husband was totally against me purchasing this vacuum cleaner. However, he loves it! He uses it to vacuum the carpet, rugs and furniture. It has cut his work time in half! I would have given this a rating of five stars if the device was able to stand up on it on. You have to lay it against the wall or on the floor.

Great vaccum! I have a yellow lab and it cleans her hair up wonderfully. It is great on carpet or hardwood and changes the mode automatically for you. Definitely recommend!

great vacuum, especially on hard flooring. light weight.

Larger header, better runtime. All in all better product. Only thing I wish there was a fluffy head still just for hardwoods. Autosense works well but fluffy head was fantastic. Highly recommend.

My wife and I were looking to a potent, high-tech and easy-to-use vacuum cleaner. We wend to Best Buy Pasadena and found through a good support from a BB staff the right choice.

=== My Take === As expected from a Dyson product, the Dyson V11 Outsize stick vacuum is super expensive but also really good. The motor and the suction system are very powerful - more powerful than my regular traditional Dyson vacuum cleaner and 2-3 times more powerful than my other stick vacuum cleaner from a large and national competing brand. The fit-and-finish is excellent, as are the build materials and build quality. If you're spending more than $800 after tax for a vacuum, you'd expect a stylish design, powerful motor, superb suction ability, and quick and easy disassembly and clicking together of all the different attachments. Fortunately, Dyson delivers all of the above with flying colors. True to its marketing claim, the intelligent "Auto" mode does a fantastic job quickly distinguishing between different surface types - hardwood flooring to carpet and vice versa - and adjusts the power & style (and sound) of suction accordingly. I expected a lag in the response of about 2-3 seconds but the device only took about 1/2 second to 1 second. I was impressed. Dyson threw in several different attachments inside the box and they're all very useful and helpful. The crevice tool is always useful for those tight spots inside the car and around the house, the mini motorized tool is great for couches, sofas, and pet beddings, and the dusting brush is excellent for window blinds and ceiling fan blades. The mini motorized tool attachment is a family favorite because it allows us to effectively pick up all the pet hair from our three indoor animals (two dogs and one cat). XD The inclusion of two batteries and two chargers is probably what makes this product so expensive. But because there are two batteries, you won't need to put a pause in your cleaning to wait for the battery to recharge (which takes about 4 hours). Most companies get it right when it comes to the dirt bin ejection mechanism, and Dyson got it right as well. Pushing down on the lever forcefully pushes out all the dust and debris and I usually have to repeat the motion just one more time to get everything out (our pet hairs are "sticky"). Besides the high price, I'm slightly disappointed that Dyson seems to have reduced the warranty period down to just two years. I could be wrong but I thought high-end Dyson products used to come with a 5-yr warranty. All in all, I'm highly impressed by this powerful and versatile cleaning tool. Nice vacuum! The only thing is it doesn’t vacuum rugs (rugs that you place on tile flooring) very well. It just stops immediately when it hits the rug, even on eco sometimes.

A bit pricey but so far am totally satisfied with the vac. Would recommend the charging stand be purchased making it very handy and neat way to keep track of the tools.

I'm loving this vacuum, Has worked flawlessly since purchased, no problems and gets every thing up off the floor and the larger capacity container is awesome!

Dyson - V11 Outsize Cordless Vacuum is a great product, but it's handle is a little bulkier so it needs a little more storage space than other "mini" vacuums.
