This is literally the best Dyson I've ever purchased. It's huge and does the right job for our upstairs.

This Dyson V11 Outsize Cordless Vacuum is awesome. With a mix of carpet and wood flooring in our house along with two kids and two dogs, there are messes made daily along with dirt from outside and fur that gets into every corner of the place. First and foremost, it comes with two batteries and two chargers which in itself, is a great bonus. You can literally do the entire house on one battery but should you need to use some extra strength in its highest setting and use up one of them, you have another one ready to go. With three different strength settings for the power of the vacuum, you can conserve battery strength for some of the easier jobs on low and then go to medium or high for those surfaces or areas that need a little extra boost. It’s easy to use on wood or carpeted floors alike and does a good job of adjusting to each on its own as you move from one surface to another. My preference has been to use low on the wood floor, medium on carpeting and high for the stairs. The attachments are a great addition. You have the full length tube for using it like a regular push vac or for the hard to reach areas but then it can be detached in order to put a smaller roller brush or nozzle on so you can do stairs and get into corners more easily. The dirt collection bin is pretty large. Because of the dog hair, I can do about two rooms of carpeting before having to empty it. That is also very easy. You press on a red bar on the back down towards the garbage can and it empties very easily. All in all, this competes very easily with other uprights that have cords and of those that I have tried, is definitely a top notch cordless vac. I highly recommend it for any surface you have.
